Just because the A.I is better at scouting doesn't mean it's cheating, you're just not very good yet.

I just had a game ruined by the surrender mechanism.I was playing on large map with all 10 races. The game was really even, with about 5 or 6 planets each. But then war started, i ve had two of the races surrender after just losing one or two planets.I feel this needs looking at, the races were anything but finished. If they one or two planets left maybe, but 4,5 planets left, 70% of their economy intact and they quit, can't be right..
It's for morale. So build entertainment stuff there.
I've never had any Rangers, so maybe your just a lucky git.The A.I has got Corvettes a few times.
You need to read the manual! You put weapons on ships in the ship designer and you need to research the logistics techs to get bigger fleets.
If You Build It, They Will Come.
Trade modules just set up the route, you can't stack them.
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\"Your username"\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships and delete them all.
The only borders in the game are planets, it aint your space.
It seems such a waste for the sexy Dreadlords ships to just be in campaign, they should be random event in sandbox. The stardock programmer Cari said they were already in sandbox mode, but this guy Mormegil said they are not.
You need close relations on the diplomacy to form alliances.
That's strange,in my game on intelligent setting they always have escort class ships protecting them. I have noticed the A.I not using tile bonus on occasion aswell.
A minor race hasn't got the power to put a cultural attack on a major, it is pointless strategy. They should be defending their only planets with bases and ships. "Minor Races tend to build Influancer Bases to keep from being obsorbed into your culture." I didn't think you could flip miner races. And they are not defending their homeworld, they are spamming bases all over the place.
Why are the miner races spamming infuence bases all over the place. They have no borders so it seems a strange strategy, lol. I would like the miners to be taken a little more seriously in the game. They should be just building defences and be a hard nut to crack, not wasting resources for no reason, ala Influence bases. I would also like them to voluntary give you their planets when the relations bar reaches the top.It gives you a reason to build good relations with them.
I agree, this is major league cheese and needs to be adressed.
I also get the Yor flashes when in the dip screen.
I miss the capital icons that were in GC1, telling me the production, economy, etc capitals for your Empire.I see the icons in the GFX folder for GC2, it would be nice to make space for them in GC2.
Some of the ship sizes are just silly.Look at Starship Andromeda, you watch the program you can just see how silly that scales. Babylon5 ships are way to big. Startrek seems to have the most realistic scale of starships in my view, apart from the Romulan D'deridex.
I think the race has to show a dislike to the race you want him to attack in the relations department ,before a D.O.W.
BattlestarGalactica is a lot smaller than i thought.
Both were cut for balance reasons.
It was cut! Brad talked about the spying system being upgraded in an expansion, much needed in my view,GC2's only weakness.
The early beta builds let this exploit happen. It was changed.
The ships and battles are more like the Startrek,Babylon5 universe, which is more consistent to sci-fi. WW2 in space is which Starwars introduced to sci fi, some like BS copy it.
In my marathon game i just had, i allied with the thalan while playing Terran and the diplomacy grapth did not have the blue line connecting showing we were allied. The matrix grapth stayed showing the trading grath colour. The main relations UI page said i was allied, but in the UI section showing all the matrix style relations grapths it said we just on friendly terms.I saved and reloaded a couple of times and it stayed showing the wrong grapths.
