Hi SimplexDesigns, I'm looking the issue and I was able to reproduce it. One thing that I would like to mention is that, that setting specifically, only work on Windows 10, it will not work on Windows 11, there's no way to set a custom color for the Explorer background on Windows 11, due the changes that Microsoft did to the OS. On Windows 11 the Explorer background will be either white or a very dark grey, almost black, depending on the mode set in the OS.

Hi there PapaBravo, thanks for the help, but I was able to reproduce the issue on Windows 10 and I'm looking for a fix, I'll post here as soon as it't sorted, again, thank you :)
Hi Jérôme, I was able to reproduce the issue and I'm investigating for a possible fix, I'll post here when I find it :)
@ Jerome87 thank you for the skin to test, I'll check the issue and let you know as soon as I have a fix for it. Regards, Dani
@ Psych0sis Can I have a copy of that particular skin and also know what's your Windows version (10, 11)? I understand that you didn't had the issue with Start10 but things changed a lot recently, Microsoft changed a lot of things in the taskbar, so it's natural that Start11 has to adapt to the changes too. (I'm talking from a designer point of view, I'm not a developer). I'm asking for this info to try reproducing the issue over here, so it's very important to have the s
@ Psych0sis Make sure you have the "Show desktop button" set in SkinStudio. Go to: Edit Startmenu and Taskbar > Edit Horizontal taskbars > Taskbar buttons > Show desktop button There, if you have the image setup and still see the issue, go to the "Extra settings" tab and try switching the "Blend against the taskbar" setting on and off to see if help. If you still have the issue, you can send me the skin and I can take a closer look for you.
where in sks and what numbers should I put?
You can configure the search box on Edit Explorer / IE shell parts > Edit Explorer parts > Search field background From there you can click in the "Painting" tab to see and set the margins. Again, try to keep the minimum of empty space around the box as possible, same thing apply to the Address field section. <img src="https://cdn
@bachbeet Also about the search box issue, make sure you're not adding too much empty space around the box, if you do, the arrow button will cover the box right edge, causing a issue similar to the one that you described.
@bachbeet are you running any custom DPI? (Settings App > Display > Scale & Layout > Scale) Is the Scale value 100% or other value? This could cause some text distortions depending on the monitor. Does you skins has a lot of custom fonts setup? I can't reproduce the issue here:
Dark skins are coming...
Hi there Mister, long time no see! Curtains has two way of editing the titlebar buttons 1 - Using the Buttons section: this method is more limited and will mostly change the basics of how the Windows buttons look. 2 - Using the Advanced Section: Here you need to edit the code by hand but you can change the position and experiment with some of the WB code. Please notice that there is separated sections for the buttons background and glyphs, but you can use 1 oth

That's great news!
Starkers, Amateur and unofficial hacks are very different from official apps that have companies behind them. Also, sorry if I sparked any bad feeling or anger, I just wanted to help.
I think I was misunderstood about the radical cahnages in recent Windows versions. I don't mean visually, I mean under the hood changes that affect how skin based apps work. Here is a simple analogy: Lets say a skin app is designed to change a Windows square based
Pretty cool theme LightStar!

Promises have been made before.
Hi Philly, I'm not making promisses, I'm just saying based on things I see and hear :) In my opinion things got slower because Microsoft made lots of radical changes in the recent Windows versions.
