No surprise its getting attention, cool app, the actual user experience with Windows 8 is really bad and the more utilities we can get to make things work, the better.

Good points there. I do hope Microsoft listen, as lots of people around the web are complaining about the user experience on Windows 8 on desktops, everyday I read like 2 or 3 articles complaining, sad but true.

It's probably caused by the taskbar blurring the background. Tune off the background effect method from Blur to semi transparent in the taskbar extra settings tab, on SkinStudio.

Yes, something changed and the pin isn't working at the moment. BUT here is a easier temporary fix. 1 - Open C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Object Desktop\SkinStudio 2 - Copy the original file "SkinStudio.exe" to the the desktop. 3 - rename it to "SkinStudio 7.exe" and move it back to the SkinStudio folder 4 - Now drag it into the taskbar and done.

Things is, if someomne doesn't have Win7, go to Microsoft.com and download the trial, will last 3 months, time enough to enter the competition and wait for it to end. In the end not everyone will be up to enter, like you can't enter a race if you don't have the car... ...not trying to be rude here or lock people out, just saying that would be easier and more organized if there's only the latest OS in the copetition, XP visual styles are now part of the past, let the thing die.

This will be fun! About "being open for one of the 3 OS's", I don't think it's fair as Win7 is lot more work to skin than the old fart XP, I think that Win7 should be the requeriment and if anyone want to make Vista and ....XP, they're open to, but more for the availability of the visual style.
