...hem, what are you talking about?
Maybe I'm thinking of 3.1-- I remember wandering around work with stacks of floppies
at least I'm not squinting on the pron sites! __________________________ maybe you should stop squinting on the porn sites, then. Probably meant the prawn sites-- their little antics must cause no end of eyestrain <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0 ALIGN=
Just don't repo my avatar...
I could tell I need to adjust FireFox when I got to WC forum-- The fonts were strange in the strangest way. The print was uneven the way a photocopy is uneven when the toner is low. I'll mess with it more over the weekend. I'm in IE now-- in the mood for a new WB.
Over here, too
So, did you find a friend yet? Sorry-- couldn't stop myself...
Meowy, Here I am in Fedora/FireFox. I was away from it for a couple of days & then had assorted problems because the BIOS didn't want to boot from the USB flash. In the end I found somebody's instructions for using RawWrite to transfer the boot image to a set of floppies (remember Win 95 installs?). Speaking of Win 95, I'd say Gnome is to KDE approx as Win 95 is to XP with OD installed. Something in that range... <img src="http://images.sta
Danillooc had a skin done that way. Not sure which one though. Synthek default shell, I believe...
Try googling the file extension. Sometimes there's shareware or freeware for the most obsure file types. Of course it's important to check for spyware/etc. Wizop Koasati is right, but ya never know...
I can't quite trust the info-gathering in terms of privacy. Need more time to get an idea of the intent behind this product.
When you install a new WB or Suite, does your work area take on the smell of a new car? I think a good IP can cause it, too.
Why am I not suprised?
Thanks, tjesterb, I am already in the middle of getting Fedora. Both in this thread & on the Fedora forum I've seen that alot of people who are into Linux lean strongly to one incarnation or another & usually have good reasons for their preferences-- all in all a good thing. If something really annoys or crashes or works great, there's a choice. I'm not a Windows basher, but it's true that we only get one take on that concept. I'm
I'm with SD on that one. I wouldn't even want to be 30 again... not that there's anything to worry about
er... what's 'fan art'?
Whuuhooooo! Meowy! Got the USB flash, the bits are torrenting (hopefully faster later)... it's my favorite past-time...doing a bunch of things I never did before, not totally clueless, but but mostly not knowing WTF I'm doing Ahhhh. (Don't be surprised later when I screw it all up & start whining-- really I love it!) Thanks
I already dl'ed the VBA32 beta a little earlier-- noticed it mentions antispyware functionality in their list. BTW the commercial version costs a good bit less than the better known brands. Thanks!
At least I know what happened now-- It was just a couple of threads. I decided to edit something, but clicked Watch instead of Edit. I did more than I realized. Thanks!
I keep getting emails of Forum threads where I posted something. I don't remember activating that function & I can't find the place to turn it off. Please help!
JAnder09 Thanks! I've wanted to try FireFox, but wasnt sure where to find good information on virus/etc protection. Now I'll give it a try. I was astounded (not in a good sense) when I first saw how many external plugins were attached to my IE (can't think of the name of them right now). I removed any I couldn't identify, but the idea makes me nervous- just surfing around can lead to who knows what invisible modifications. Will also check to
I know it's hard to imagine, but I don't have a CD burner- no way to get the image onto the CD A flash pen is way cheaper than getting a CD burner & some blanks
The first time I got on WC yesterday afternoon, I was logged off. Didn't notice until I couldn't do a forum post. I haven't been to msstyles in ages, but thought maybe in cleaning up my drive I had tossed my cookies or something. Logged on again & nothing since.
At this point I can pass on a useful bit. In installing Fedora from hard drive, booting from floppy is no longer an option. If you don't have a CD or DVD burner, a USB flash drive is an option- minimum size for the boot image 16 MB (commercial MB) (gotta get one before I can proceed- at least they're cheap)
