Yeah, people, buy Drengin.net, you would not have such problems ;) . Being in IT business, I would never ever pay money to middleman, if there is a way to pay for the product to developer. I think Stardock deserves getting all the money for their product, not just half. ~SDC~

Mayito, I have even sent cash and it worked (from eastern Europe it is quite difficult and expensive to pay by other means, I think it is worth risk, but it depends on you ;) So I believe they would be able to accept money order and/or checks ;)
So, I will try to resubmit... I am now downloading multimedia, so after I finish I will try. Not so important to climb the ladder, anyway, it was quite hard game and I would be glad to submit ;)
Hello, I had no time for play for quite a long time, anyway, I won a game and submitted to Metaverse. It has not shown up in my score, however, Galciv reported that submitting was succesful... Is there any delay between submitting and updating the account in metaverse? Thanks,
Underdogs is great source of abandoned games, however, due to their volume they have problems keeping all the games simply to install and all that. That "many-rars-in-rar system" is quite common over there, it was to help people recover partially downloaded files (esp. longer ones). ~SDC~
Hm, I am sorry I cannot help you with Spellcross getting to run, I have Czech version, original CD, and it works without problems (with patch, of course ;) ). However, it IS good game, in some aspects (IMHO) better than XCOM. BTW, I hope the FMV were not ripped, they were not so great, but good atmosphere ;) Anyway, I wish you good luck getting it to run; and if you want a Czech version, no prob to send it to you ;) BTW, DONT forget to hire officers and create organization chart ASA
BTW, if you manage to get Spellcross, be _sure_ to download patch. It solves problems with running on W2000, and resolves few quirks (savegame problems in missions, unit organization grid error and few other). ~SDC~
Quite similar game (in logic) is Spellcross (beware, there is RPG game with same name, anyway, this one is strategy). You have strategy part (a bit simplier than XCOM), and tactics part (it is unit based as Battle island, but the gameplay is more UFO like). Game was produced in Czech republic, and it might be free (or very cheap) nowadays. It was sold in Europe as well, not sure about US (but there definitely IS English version, not only Czech one ;) ). You can find review at http://www.gam
Working well for me; I had a little problem with registration, as stardock sales has registered me with wrong e-mail address. However, it was small issue and since then, I have no problem (and I luckily avoided C: deleting bug. ~SDC~
Thanks, mine is not, as I got "incorrect file size". I will resume download soon. However, I can play now, I just miss multimedia ;) ~SDC~
Please, one bit of info - I am not entirely sure if all the necessary files are downloaded correctly; I encountered some crashes and like during d/l (möstly connected with older SDC version). I think theè simpliest way to check is to compare volume of installed galciv - how long it should be with, and without multimedia? Thanks, ~SDC~
I have another problem - the Stardock make typo in my address, using pkunetta instead of pkunetka. I thought it does not matter, but it does - I had to register under wrong address. However, worked for me - this can happen to anybody else as well ~SDC~
My speed is ca 6 kB/s, however, this is problem on our and... At least I am not stealing much from your bandwith ;) ~SDC~
I liked the latest beta, so I believe things did not get worse - if so, I have beta backuped, for sure ;) I have only ca 8kb/s, so I think I will not play any soon, but I have to go to dentist anyway... Anyway, good work. Although I hoped for a bit different game, Galciv is giving me good fun, and I can wait for game designed especially for me longer ;) ~SDC~
I was checking Drengin downloader quite often, and was getting quite nervous why the Galciv final does not appear there... Later on I decided to read carefully all the instructions about downloading... Stupid me... Anyway, I have already Stardock central installed and downloading ;) ~SDC~
... humble and polite... so far. I am a bit afraid that it will not last forever. I would be glad... very glad... if wrong. :notsure:
I was never able to undercut in TCM on highest levels... Cant figure out why, anyway, this simple little game provides me still a challenge. I casually win on Normal, one-in-two on level above normal, but _never_ on highest level. I think it is connected to not use marketing enough. Nice refreshment - game that is difficult to win ;)
Thanks, Yin for kind words. In Czech using the first name is very sensitive, but everybody here does it, so I did as well. BTW, I hope Gal Civ will ROI very soon, and there will be a budget for next games. I have noticed they plan to make a game similar to MoM, and this is very promising. The game I would like to get is reworked Imperium from EA, but tough luck... Not too soon. BTW, it was great "macro" game (not automated micro-game ;) ) Anyway, I think we will see this approach -
I was impressed by the fact, that Brad had a vision of what he wants to achieve, and stayed by this vision. His ideas about gaming industry are innovative and very appealing to me. To explain a bit, I am manager of minor software company (business apps.) and I am quite jealous about the approach the gaming companies can take towards their customers. If I would have the same approach as most of the designers, we are out of business. So I decided to support Brads approach - in belief tha
To Michael: And developing eternal hatred for everything connected with "IG" and "QS" letters. LOL BTW, maybe connection of Stardock to IG may be a bit counter-productive from marketing point of view... in the moment... ;)
I mean Johns suggestion, you were way too fast for me ;). Disappointed fans have the advert for Galciv in box, is not it true?
I would support this suggestion. As a long time Moo fan I was lurking the board, but the level of hostility and the info I received there convinced me of two things: 1/ Dont register there 2/ Dont buy Moo for more than 5$ (you know, I cannot afford spending my money on mediocre games - former Easter bloc, you know ;) And they said fan-boards are useless ;)
Yes, you can research it as technology "Beyond Human"; you will win the game immediately, though ;)
12x12 is quite dated info, this was max in one of the sooner betas. In the latest beta I have acces to it is 23x23, however, I do not know figures for gamma ;)
Geographical centre of the Europe is in Slovakia, however, it would be better to put Galciv on some Czech server. Not only for better internet connection, but because I live here ;)
