Maybe this is the same problem I encountered and reported few hours before. Just a question, in the bottom of the screen, did you happen to have advisor (you know, that small green picture, guy with headphones ;)), describing you are on technology or diplomacy screen, even when on starmap?
Peter Sly
Terror stars expensive - this is not a complain, I thing the price is right ;)
The same problem, I think it is something connected to researching two techs at once, or something similar. Maybe ship movement begind Tech screen...Generally, Esc gets out of this. A bit similar problem, difficult to describe... Under some circumstances, Galciv things I have tech or diplomacy screen open (the small advisor at the bottom of screen say things like "Technology screen is used to..."), and I am on star map. I cannot move ships, and I have wrong minor icons (disband, sentry,
However, it seems to download well, so I am ready to play :)
I woule suggest to have a button to "Check the integrity" in DGM, i.e. compare if all the files are same on local station and Stardock server. Or something like that...
I have special problem while upgrading. I was upgrading to Beta3, and I started with Multimedia. However, there was some error during upgrade (I believe it was connection related, so nothing interesting), however, DGM now considers GalCiv to be fully upgraded. I cannot use upgrade button for GalCiv. Is there any way to force DGM to allow upgrading? Thanks,
Speaking of planet list, would it be possible to have the List of all planets (not only colonized ones). Example - If playing Huge, and have found few good planets to colonize, it is easy to forget where EXACTLY they are when you finally finished Colony ship.
To: CariElf Thanks - and good luck with bug hunting.
Nice, if a little bit too big ;)
I have not tried trading for planets - techs and ships were enough to make life easy :)
Of course, I forgot two other things ;) : 1/ Starbases are too strong with conjuction of AI thinking. Generally, on the same technical level they are nearly undestructible. However, AI uses to concentrate on them, giving them enough exp to make them really undestructible (in a late midgame, I have base with defense of 151). 2/ Bug - it is not possible to build political capital. It seems there is reference to Economy capital somewhere in program instead of political.
Hello, I have finished the Huge universe on Average setting, and close to finish Huge on the highest settings. Generally, I would say that the game is improving rapidly. I have encountered few bugs, and few ideas. So, lets share them ;). Bugs: 1/ If you set ship to guard (Battleship), and it is attacked by enemy, game freezes 2/ Generally, attack takes 1 movement point. However, autopilot allows to use all the movement AND attack in same turn. This ends up hav
As for my last suggestion, I take it back. It would be too much ;)
To Technician: So, try to colonize plenty of planetclass 1 planets and you can trade them for technology (if loosing technologically), or for better planets. Does it help :) ANyway, I think and hope this will be adressed later...
I would suggest upgrades for improving HP, or defence - I think it is 25% lower than I would like them to be ;)
I would suggest my preferred economic law, Law of diminishing returns. Who does not have economic background, first upgrade would give you (lets say) 25% boost, second one 21% boost, third one 18% boost... You see the logic, I hope. This way no limit is necessary ;)
I just stolen few hours to have a play (out of time now), and I have to admit there is great improvement. Maybe just one notice - the Soldier enhancing anomaly (forgot the name, sorry ;) ) makes you too strong, I believe.
' There is a limit to how much you can get with techs, but you tend to be able to research faster than the AI can colonize/build, so until real late in the game, when there isn't much left to research, you can get that effect.' It is better to trade techs AND all ships, just to slow down him from the beginning. You can get quite a few planets and all ships just from Organic something (just cannot remember ;) ), significantly slowing AI down at very begining.
Crashes, as I mentioned in my (not responded thread Bug report; Balance issue). I can of course any time trade my tech for all the planets of all races and submit my score, if you like. Do you ? ;)
Oops I meant the DGM from thread " DGM Updated - 0.66.083", whatever the version is ;)
Got 1z after some problems - upgrade to DGM 0.66.083, clearing the temp files and few SDs.
Probably similar problem here, but I got only stop statament encountered window... I cannot find that debug file you mentioned...
So, I will try - I have CD ROM. Thanx a lot.
I would like to install Galciv at my home computer (I have installed it just in work, but of course I can run it only at evening :). Anyway, I have no internet connectivity at home... is there some easy way to transfer it? If it is not so easy, just let it be - I can bring my computer to work and connect it, however, it would be easier to copy it, if possible... I hope there are no legal problems with having Galciv on two computers... of course I have not read the licence agre
I had the same problem, it probably happens in this situation: Planet A is new, with plenty of projects to build, and you choose last on the list. Then you change to planet B, where only few projects are left. Game probably leaves cursor on project beyond list range for planet B. Might this be the case?
