Hummm... Depends on what you are about. You can set the autoarchive to take the currently installed version and create a zip file before the download starts. The zip file ends up in the SDC backup directory. Then SDC starts the download and install for the new version. You can also right click on the new version and have it download and archive. I have never used this option. The updates can be quite large, but not all of them are, they can be quite small, 1-3 megs for example. J
I meant decide not to send you freighters
Ah... Yes... This happens to me regularly. I rarely get trade routes from the minors from the first wave until I send them a frieghter. Which I never do. Once I've got all the tech... they are just another world to take. I don't get freigthers from the second wave of minors either... But then they will buy tech for cash. So I usually blockade and get two rounds of tech sales in by trading exclusively with the minors.
How does that work for Maso minors ... and who decide not to trade with you?
Really? I've never had a minor refuse to trad tech. It has to be a good trade, just like with the majors... I.E. don't expect to get anything for stellar. ;) But I've never had a minor out and out refuse to trade tech.

Maybe/should be possible. SDC has a download and archive feature. If you right click on the AP dl you should get a context menu with the option. Then you chould just burn the archive.

AP is an addon so it uses the files in GC. AP does have its own data data directory which as of 1.49J contains APshippack.ship, coremodules.sbmodule, english.str and starbase.ship. It also has its own mods directories though.

There is a pop limit of 100B no matter what the PQ. However the limit can only be reached once you have sufficent PQ improvements, social improvement, techs and morale resources. As mention by Black Shade and Matt, mid to late game is when you probably have sufficent modifiers to achive 100B. Until then you can always get an over population problem on a world. And taking them off increses your tax revenue. Take off the pop then click on the planet in the planet list. You'l

Black Shade... Pop size is limited by PQ is is not? So... depending on how long the games goes... It is posible to hit the pop limit and then morale starts to drop. As morale drops so does income. Even if you are trading. It that case I use transport/combat transport to off load the excess pop... And of course use them as troops. ;) Amazing how many different ways there are to achive the same ends with this game. :)
