I'd like to be able to specify particular areas of espionage and destabilization. Typically, espionage nets some interesting, but sometimes useless info. The ability to focus efforts on obtaining technologies from other races may be invaluable. Addtionally...One of my favorite features of past versions was negotiating individual trade routes with other races. You could REALLY exploit your greater advantage at diplomacy in this area. The only problem was sometimes you had so many routes that

I was at Stardock.com and there's an ad for GalCiv at the bottom of the page. It's got a picture of The Empire which is hauntingly similar to how they looked in GalCiv 2 Gold on OS/2. Are they making a reappearance in the game, or have I missed them? I don't recall even seeing The Empire in the new version of the game. tmlmark

In resposne to Sander...In the OS/2 version there was a tech called "Eyes of the Universe" that showed the full map. However, I often found that I'd already explored most of the map (except for gigantic ones) by the time I got the tech. The larger the galaxy, the more handy that tech is.
Maybe that could backfire. What if a less civilized race finds the probe and reverse-engineers your technology and uses it against you? ;)
