Take a que from ID software's older titles, such as Quake: There is no limit to the number of patches that can be released.

I may be way off here, but I suspect that the "string of lucky rangers" thing is experienced by people who are outgunned militarily and have the "luck" attribute.
Thats great, but I still wish that either: A: Weapons would be turreted or B: Ships would orient themselves so that their weapons are facing their target when they fire.
Whats all that stuff in the main window? Were you fighting around a planet with rings or something?
The only way to prevent this is to tech whore at every opportunity. As soon as you get a new tech, be it from research or trading, go around selling/trading it to everyone you can.
1: There are three basic weapons categories, with a few minor deviations. Mass drivers, Directed Energy weapons, and Missiles. Likewise, there are three types of defenses, also with a few minor deviations. Armor, Energy Shields, and ECM. Its not nearly as in-depth as Moo2 as far as the combat goes, but its a bit more complex than GC1's combat system. Also note that having the "wrong" type of defense is bette
When I choose luck (+25% luck) as one of my custom race's abilities, and I also choose the Universalist political party (+25% luck is one of their bonuses), I noticed that the overview tab lists my race's luck bonus as +25%. Shouldn't it be +50%? Is the summary wrong, or do the bonuses not stack?
I wonder if your teacher knows what you're up to.
" Actually, the AI DON'T distinguish between you and other AI players. That is a MYTH. M-Y-T-H MYTH!" If thats the case, how come they rarely approach you for trading purposes, yet share techs amongst themselves quite frequently? Thank you for the spelling lesson, btw.
2 things; First, how do I reset the racial bonuses in the race selection screen? Second, whats the deal with the search function on this web page. I type in a search term, click search, and.... nothing. ?? Shouldn't I either get some search results or a page that says "no search results"?
WTF? Why would they give you the option to make more than one per planet if the effects are not cumulative? Can anyone confirm this?
Is it just taxes? Don't they boost production and research too? (I would think so, unless all those people are just sitting around paying taxes).
Some of it is purchased from other countries. It's not like they have a bunch of Evangelions or Mobile Suit Gundams running around to kick Godzilla in the nertz. Congrats, you've managed to make me laugh out loud. -- Anyway, I figured that either A: They spawn late and therefore are given money to compensate.<
Mmm, I wonder how hard it would be to add a bit more transparency to this aspect of the game (specifically, the Max population/farms issue).
Lets say I have one planet thats very small, say, 5 tiles, HOWEVER it has two tiles with very large bonuses to manufacturing. On the other hand, I have another planet with a whole lot of usable tiles, but no bonuses. Is there some way to tell *at a glance* which planet has the greatest potential for a given area of development? Frankly, I'd rather not have to whip out the calculator every time it comes time to plop down
As you point out, the alternative is to give each planet its own economic slider, which would be a micromanagement nightmare (for many players anyway--I don't doubt that there are more than a few players who would relish this level of control). Yes, and all two of them are playing Moo3. The rest of u
I agree that its an improvement, although it kinda sucks that the player has so little control over the camera angle. Also, I wish they would make the weapons turreted or otherwise adjust the program so that, for example, laser beams do not shoot from the back of a laser cannon (as opposed to coming out of the barrel of the weapon, which is kinda what I'd expected).
Link For example, how many farms should I put on this planet?
Whats the ratio of size-to-population cap?
I was thinking of just taking all the + morale modifiers when creating a custom race, thats why I asked "aside from morale concerns" .
Aside from Morale concerns, isn't farming the best way to go, in theory, since more people would boost production, research, etc?
Unfortunately you're going to have to resort to tech-whoring. Just make heavy use of diplomacy and try not to weep as you feel your soul slide away. *In case you haven't guessed, I was hoping for less of a focus on tech trading... it seems like you never have a situation where one race has powerful beam weapons and armor, while another has powerful mass drivers and shields (in other words, a cool, diverse battle) since as soon as a tech is
When I plan to make an Economic Capital on a given planet, should I try to put as many Finanical buildings as possible on it, or should I sprinkle in 1 farm, 1 embassy, 1 mine, etc? (And no, ETC does not count the specialized buildings... the Omegas for example) I realize that it would probably be a good idea to make factories on the planet (though I wonder about the wisdom of later dismantling them to make room for more Financial buildings
Ahh, thought so. Oh well. Also, if I put a special building upon a tile with a bonus, what happens? For example, lets say I build a Manufacturing Capital on top of a tile with a bonus to manufacturing. Do I get a bonus equal to that which I would get if I had simply put a factory on it, a bonus greater than if I had simply put a factory on it, or no bonus at all? Also, where is the population cap listed?
Btw can you eventually use every square on a given planet (via application of technological improvements) or is a crappy planet doomed to forever be a crappy planet? Is there a point at which its simply not worth colonizing a given planet?
