Bottom line is this. On Windows I work WITH my PC ( when I'm not messing with my desktop ) On LInux I work ON my PC ( Gettinmg stuff that works out of the box with Windows to work ) WHat's the point in being able to compile a bloody kernel when you can't get basic application support sorted .

Would be nice if I could actually do it :rolleyes:The payment system won't accept my billing info This happens every year when I renew OD as well I end up having to call Stardock and process the friggin order manually. And not to be too fussy , but Stardock is the ONLY online retailer I've used that has this problem.

I agree with Lord Frogboy completely on this issue. One of my pet peeves is the ' We invented it , but MS stole it ' philosophy that the Apple fanatics have. They speak like Apple has come up with everything on their own, which if someone really looked into it, in a lot of cases , isn't true. I've used Windows , Mac , Unix .. etc .. I use Windows now because it works for everything I need. I suppose I could do the same on *nix or a Mac, but I doubt I'd get the same results for the same

also wondered why we have an "advertisement" on the front page of Wincustomize. I sincerely doubt this is a partner of Stardock. This info belonged in the message board, not the front page, IMHO. by GhoS Monday, September 15, 2003 actually it is

Funny though, even as we talk about DX being able to do this, there is hardly a theme out there that professes itself to be an animated wallpaper. I personally, have plans in the works but really can't do anything until I get a new system. by PowerUser joetheblow Monday, September 15, 2003 there are several on here , no ?

The two comments I like getting when people see my desktop are 1. It's too cluttered . I mean like what the ... ? When I boot up my PC I have *nothing* on my desktop except the fish , a small clock in the upper right and a small tray object on the lower right. Compared to the multiple desktop icons and the XP start menu. 2. It must be really hard to use. That would be true if you didn't know to bring up my Dock on autohide and that right clicking on the titlebar of windows ac

Green: the Blaster worm and it's cronies didn't need host software on the target PC unless you count Windows . just run a bloody firewall , updated AV software and an adware killer ( Spybot or Adaware ) and you'd be safe enough , if you run Windows ( which I assume would be just about everyone since this is WINcustomize.com )

Reaper: I have a tip for you. Don't become a programmer. In that profession you will be wasting people's time by making bugs. Sooner or later they want you to be shot. Sounds fair doesn't it? legitimate programmers wouldn't have anything to fear bugs or not.Having said that shooting people for property crimes( and this IS a property crime ) is dumb. Having said that a lot of people are losing time , money and are being fustrated by the

{mode: +homer} mmmMMMmmmmmm docklets {mode: -homer} cgiggy: the docklets will let you have ' smarter ' objects more than just shortcuts .. the trashcan and clock objects already use them but Stardock is finally releasing the codes so we can see more stuff. long live objectdock

I'm not understanding .. you had 1100 votes .. and I'd imagine not even half of them wanted bootsreens ( doesn't logonXP do that anyhow? ) although it is the most wanted program it isn't a vast difference between boot screens and the 2nd place finisher ( trillian ). I'd take the lesser of the chores and add Trillian skins. Then I wouldn't need to head off to DeviantArt or wherever to find them.
