I also get a balloon in sys tray that says Im out of virtual memory quite often when I work offline in desktopX ... Never had this myself. Works fine online or offline. Maybe look at adjusting your virtual memory size in System Properties? eg. System Properties|Advanced Tab|Performance Settings|Advanced Tabs ->Virtual Memory should be at the bottom

ObjectDock Docklets do work with Rocketdock. Search Docklets under Object Dock Category. Make sure you place the Weather Docklet in the docklets folder eg. C:\Program Files\RocketDock\Docklets\Weather. Right click on any icon in the dock. Select Add Item Menu and The Weather Docklet should appear.
Both ways are fine to do it. You used the dx plugin which simplifies things considerably for most people and since it's there why not use it. They are great plug-ins that allow people to spend more time customizing and less time programming.

If I were you I'd stick to instructions/tutorials surrounding the most popular widgets. Obviously those are what people want to know how to do. Many people seem to want instruction in general scripting but, excellent resources exist elsewhere including an excellent SDK from Microsoft. I think you could lock the computer with vbscript just pack it to an exe then execute from DesktopX. And one more question, is it possible to trigger a script with a key on keyboard? If you have permissions then yes.

It sounds like you will have to do this through external wscripts. DesktopX doesn't allow that much control over the shell and for good reason.
The sorts of people who would want the Geek Squad installation are the sorts that probably use their computer for email, saving digital photos, writing the occassional letter and surfing the web. Don't forget acquiring hundreds of spyware, malware, trojans and viruses.

Absurd as this may sound to you or I, unfortunately there is a need with it. How many people have asked you for help or to install programs, etc? In my case that was a lot in the past until I started to charge for it. Many people are just too damn lazy to actually read the instructions let alone follow them. Mind you I would come to your house (locally) and do this for far less.

There is a place I suppose for Gadgets at DesktopGadgets but, it seems to be stagnant and most developers have chosen to release them here. I think serious consideration should be given for an additional Gadget section.
