Ya. I'd i have gone out and bought a new a drive so that i wouldn't lose anything... In all my years I've never had to do a complete re-install. (came close a few times) Situations like this are a pain in the ass though, and getting more common.

The new beta can be bad. the one before was great. so if you can still get it, try that.
Sensors need to to be redone. Eyes of the universe is too good. It makes it so the human doesn't need to waste space on sensors. Sensors should be overall better, and the eyes should make give them +1 or 2 range per sensor. This way you'd always have to think about what sensors to employ, and hopefully the AI's blindness disadvantage would be reduced.
Thats legit. 4 / sector is new rule. that's why there in 2 straight lines right on the other side of the edge. (i think)
Yes there is a way. Use the 1st tab bottom left . (Ships/Planets) Make sure it's set to planets, sort alpha, and then right click i think on the planet in the list.
Making a change for this would probably make a lot of sense. It would make every one crying for bombardment happy for one.... As long as the AI used the tactic when appropriate, I think it's fine. (and the AI used faster transports...) As it is now, you can do this with your 1st transport and unless you win by accident, get a good planet on the second go. I tend to use gas tho, just because it's safer and generally kills enough. (only
Hey this beta is way better. No crashs for me at all. The AI seems much stronger, actually lost a game on painfull..... Only bad thing has been multiple starports bug by the AI.
I've seen the same thing. It may be a display problem. Because the starports can't always be demolished, and often they're being upgraded.
I think there's a new bug in the new beta. I've seen the AI (lots of times) have multiple starports on a planet. It's definately funky, because you can't always even tear em down.
I think you can get lucky, and the new tile could have a good bonus on it., but I'm not much of a gambler in a strat game...
To each his own. I think the answer is a priority setting for the governors. This could get too fancy, but I'd like it where you could say under gov X, do research projects, then morale, etc.... Or it could just apply to just the single gov we have now. That way when you get discovery sphere, or industry center, you could easily tell all your planets to get started on them, as opposed to what they're doing now. Is the new beta
If you've got at least 2 tiles open why would you do PQ improvements ? I've seen the AI build a starport maybe a trade center, and then have soil/habitate queued up. It's silly. If you've got tiles open build them, not get more.
This was last beta and prior. Got a game going so I can't switch yet. I don't like having to fix the build queue all the time as I do now... It just seems that a change there would be a good improvement. (helps the AI as well, since most smarter people adjust thier queue)
Having great fun with the game. A few small things that I see as easy or really nice to have would be : 1) when upgrading tiles, do the ones with most bang for the buck first.. (Do the ones with bonuses specifically) Thankfully the AI has same error. (Seen them upgrading one simple factory, while they could be doing the one with +700%) 2) Keep the PQ improvements at the bottom of the queue. Why make the planet bigger if you
I like to play on larger galaxys with abundant anomolies, and then early in the game get decent engines and then go for sensors, then build a few more survey ships. This generally allows me to keep spending at 100%, and quick buy many projects due to the money coming from anomolies. This generally means I get great starts, and a huge tec advantage. I'm at the point I'm considering turning the anomolies off, because I think they make
The AI's probably throwing in the towel because it's so heavilly in debt it can't do anything.... I think a little light on how the AI is making the decision might make some of you happy. Perhaps instead of mass surrender the influence mechanic should kick in stronger. IE if you're getting wooped, you get more and more ez to influence. This would fit nicely with the rest of the game, and wouldn't be so mysterious....
Still trade is under powered in gc2 vs the older versions. It's almost not worth bothering. In GC1, if you didn't get trade started quickly, you really fell behind. Money is easier to come by in 2, but yet the trade routes start at about the same bc/month (but you get more of em), but I don't think they increase as the route goes nearly as strong. In GC1 major revenue streams (25-50% or your income) could be done via trade. I'
Ya. But that's life. Hence part of the game. I like the way it can swing things for or against you. Perhaps this is an advantage of being good ? (Ie they surrender to you)
Something maybe out of whack in the beta. I just had a game where I had around 6000 bc a turn over-run. I couldn't spend it qucik enough... i'd go to 5-6 planets per turn and buy stuff.... I think taxes / prices / rates of expendature need more tweeking.... With anomolies in the early game you can really build your infrastructure up way too fast.
It also helps if you play with lots of anomolys that you can sweep up. (a good number of em are +1 to luck)
Ya abundant is now abundantly good planets... Have to try the other settings. My 1st game on the beta I thought OMFG, what a great start, i had a 26, some 16s, some 19s, and loads of 12s. But then I saw the computer had some of these too....
Go to 1024 RAM, it cleaned it up for me as well...
I like it this way. Esp if you have a part that's hard to find to get rid of it. (perhaps the gui should just be changed) Just slap on the new parts big freaking deal. Perhaps there could be option to update this each given part type, but come on.... Perhaps it could be a question it pops it to you whether it should do this, but to me I would always chose yes.
Bull. There's no reason why money should ever be on both sides of the diplomacy screen... Either you're paying or gettting paid. It's a bug.
Same problem here basically. Found playing on gigantic too much, large is very playable. I think the 512 RAM is the important part, it probably has to do with swapping in and out. Should be getting another 512 tomorrow.
