"True but far far greater numbers of Muslims do embrace the religion of their parents thn do the kids of post-reform Christianity." Not in the Western world. It isn't much different here at all. When they can they make insular little mini-communities within western communities, but they don't hold together any more than the authoritarian commun

... and not even Islam. Fundamentalist Islam. Trying to get kids in the West to embrace anything that diverts from the general hedonism of our culture is like pulling teeth. That's why we have a few, disturbed individuals instead of hordes of people shouting death in the street. It's easy to speak out against materialism and lust and immorality when you live in a nation where they cut off your body parts for indulging in such. When you are uneducated, poor, and the hope of ever enjoy

What if someone in your school could only eat beef from white cows? Would you be harmed from eating meat from white cows? Is there a difference? Unless someone can show me how this is a detriment to non-Muslim students, I don't see how this is an offense. Imagine the problems of kids mixing up Halal meat with their regular and the school getting sued for defiling people's kids once a week. Why take that risk when you can cater to Muslims and Christians have no preference? W

What you aren't seeing, though Gid, is that they ARE catering to Christians. Christians have NO MANDATE as to how their meat should be killed. So there's nothing being taken away from one to cater to the other. I went to a school that provided meat for Islamic students, and we still had pork as an option. Is there anything saying they no longer serve pork in these schools? No ham, no bacon, nothing? I'd be surprised. More likely they just make sure that the meat the Islami

You have to understand that terrorism is a business. Once you grasp that, you realize that without conflict there's nothing in the way of "advertising" to bring the money in. The only reason they want us out is for the ability to say they beat us, and then they'd have to start blowing things up elsewhere. So, it's much easier to make headlines with us where they can get at us. Look at Hamas in Palestine. The LAST thing they want is a healthy, happy Palestinian population, because th

Dunno how you eat it, but once I started eating meat rare/medium rare, it stopped hurting me. Once meat is cooked well done it is like shoe leather. It isn't digestible for me, anyway. I have two modes of meat eating. Either cooked for hours until it is falling apart, or at the very least pink in the middle. The more pink, the less it bothers me.

"I haven't seen any reports of the Irish beheading people lately." But you have to admit that the decline of terrorism in Ireland can be correlated directly to the level of comfort there. As time went on and their economic situation and education (independent thinking) improved there were less and less attacks. People don't want their leisure s

The problem, as I've pointed out to the Col more than once, is that what they SAY this stuff goes for isn't necessarily what it goes for. I don't believe that millions spent on military museums and statues and whatnot are "defense". Go back and look at the money that is leeched away in earmarks, often going to stuff that doesn't even fit under the umbrella of what the money was appropriated for. If we had a REAL rundown of where the money went, I believe we could cut a third or more o

I would agree with you, but you need to change "Islam" to "Fundamentalism". If you exchanged Christianity with Islam, and put them in the same social and economic circumstances as the Middle East, I think you'd have the same. Look at Ireland. I think there are plenty enough "hooks" in the Christian Old Testament for someone to use if we were just pissed off and uncomfortable enough. That's the answer for the Middle East, in my opinion. It isn't just money, mind you, it's COMFORT.<br

70 out of how many? How many are state schools? How many schools are there in England, would you say? Regardless, not one person so far is really dealing with WHY IT EVEN MATTERS. Unless your religion has something against Halal meats, I fail to understand how the other people are being put out by it. If some people care, and the rest don't, and there's no difference in taste or quality, then what does it matter? If you open the system up to the bleeding heart, "I Wuv Ani

The only way they are passed on to me is if I am taxed for them. You are the one insisting the cost of their malfeasance is passed on to the taxpayer. Make them pay for it. I don't care if it gets paid at all. What can't be cut? The millions in earmarks that are stolen by legislators every year? The billions that get sent to nations like egypt in payoffs? What the hell do I care if they actually follow through on those promises? They were wrong to make those commitments.

Corrupt politicians understand that once they committ the money, shills like Col Gene will insist that the expenditure is "necessary". That's a bunch of hooey, frankly. If you follow Col Gene's ideals, then you can't ever cut spending.

Um, who cares? You could post that the tax cuts are going to "cost" the government eleventy bazillion dollars and I would cheer. The money doesn't belong to the government, so saying it "costs" them money is like saying that you not giving me a Christmas present "costs" me a present. What you fail to understand is many of us want the biggest tourniquet we can find placed around as many vestigial limbs of the government until they rot off. I believe the only way we will ever fix gover

BTW, this isn't true as posted. I've dug and dug and I can't find anything approaching the clipped quote above. What I DID find is that there were a handful of Church of England Schools doing this, along with FOUR state schools. I don't see how anyone can talk this way without seeing how similar they sound to "the jews are gonna getcha" folks from the other side. I personally have no religious mandate about how my meat should be butchered, so I have no idea WHY I should be offended b

Santa isn't getting this much of a reaction, YOU are. You aren't making people "think". People have heard this idiotic stuff for YEARS, KFC. We've for YEARS heard that Santa is wrong, Harry Potter is "witchcraft" and should be removed from school libraries. Our reaction isn't because that we are touchy, or because we have some kind of subliminal guilt. Our reaction is because, frankly we HATE your perspective and would like to purge it from our culture. That sounds strong, but it's

Careful, there's no Jesus in that santa picture. He's a red-stained hound of hell, deceiver and foe of God, remember.

Mr Trump doesn't want his dating pool tainted by bad behavior. If I had such a personal harem I probably would have rules, too, but then I doubt I could stomach being the kind of person he is, either.

I've yet to say anything is wrong with Christmas. I'm taking exception to someone telling me that part of what I do is wrong. If she wants to take it back, there'll be nothing to talk about. If she keeps defending the ignorant, hypocritical nonsense, I'll keep posting. I mean, wtf?? You guys are coming down on ME, when she is here likening other people's beliefs and practices to devil worship? If she was here saying Mohamed was the devil no one would be crapping on me for taking issue
