Jennifer1: Odd then you didn't have much but "interesting" to say to KFC when she decided to drop this steamer on the Christmas spirit. If KFC wants to remove it, I won't have anything to post on. I didn't see any concerns for hurt feelings on her part when she posted this. I'd feel more apt to receive your protest as sincere if you'd responded the same to: "Instead of praising the birth of our Lord, we instead worship the red-stained fattened figure of Santa Claus."</blo

P.S. Doc, if KFC has the right to tell us to go home and tell our kids that Santa is Satan, then I have the right to answer it. Stop sitting here and trying to pretend you are any more elevated because you aren't offended. If you have some reason that I don't have the right to answer what was put forth here, say it. Otherwise don't give me the moral high road, because I've seen you right down in the mud in other topics that you could have easily been less sensitive about.

"Here's a kicker for ya Baker. My son, who wrote this article, is a college junior and has his picture taken every year with his girlfriend sitting on Santa's lap. " People always have some way of validating the fact that they condone in their personal lives what they preach against in others'. Here's a suggestion, why bother with it at all if y

Yeah, it was Christmas when we were told to tell our kids that Santa was Satan, too. Why set up the playing field if you don't want to play? One day Santa is Satan, the next you're hanging stockings? I guess she just wanted to crap on OTHER people's observance of the holiday.

"The stockings are hung." Didn't your son liken that to a satanic ritual ? Hanging out socks for the devil to fill? Tsk, tsk.

I don't see it as contending. No matter what KFC says, Santa Claus isn't about greed or materialism, and someone would need a very twisted perspective on the world to see it that way. Santa Claus is about giving and working for the joy of other people. Santa Claus is about being good. That doesn't matter to KFC or her son, though, because anything that doesn't go around like a chatty cathy doll proclaiming Jesus every hour on the hour is a "distraction". It's always black or white,

"Can you prove the booking of the airline didn't seat them that way?" No, I haven't seen the police report, and neither have you. You've seen what someone portrayed to be the police report, just like it was portrayed over and over that they talked loudly about bin Laden. Every single news show I've seen has cited them spreading out in seat they

Would this make the song "I Saw Momma Kissing Santa Claus" a description of a child waking up to witness some sexual satanic ritual?

"I just read this. When have I attacked anyone's belief? " Telling people that they are abetting satan worship isn't attacking their beliefs? That's your problem. NOTHING you say is ever an "attack", but about everything anyone says about your beliefs is. My opinion is you've lost the true meaning of JESUS'S teachings and are more tied

I worked security at a central corporate office for a bank. We had strict rules about the records department, they were NAZIS about what people did and didn't do in there. They had sprinklers every 3 feet in the ceiling, and just a WHIFF of smoke would set it off. So one weekend they are having a huge deal there with people dragging out boxes of records for some reason or other. With 50 or so employees sitting with 50 or so open boxes of records sitting out, stacks of file folders in

No, the press is called that in its own smugness, but the press couldn't stop Bush from finishing the job, say, in Fallujah. They have no veto, no vote, and the President doesn't have to check with them. He had the opportunity for victory, and he allowed political PR concerns to cloud his judgment. That isn't the fault of the press. You have a lot of well thought-out points there, but in the end it all relies on the idea that the press needs to be involved in the President's thought

"I did not get the feeling that he was addressing the general public and calling them satan worshippers.... I see it as a pointing out of a pitfall to the christian community." Contrary to KFC's definition (which we've gone over in detail in the past), there are a wide array of other people with conflicting beliefs who consider themselves to be C

"KFC and her family are allowed to think how they want and what they want and they are allowed to voice those thoughts too. Heck, I think anyone that didn't expect vehement retort would be a tad out of touch

No, that's not what you said. You said: "Keep up the good work spreading the propaganda for the enemy and you too will one day be allowed to die for the winning side you so happily cheer for." I don't and haven't cheered for the enemy. I don't play cheerleader for corrupt politicians that needlessly toss away the lives of brave soldier

"I see no harm in Santa. To me, he represents goodness - something that we need more of in this world. I see gifts exchanged as acts of love. And I see a general increase in kindness at this time of year, even at the malls. All good things that Jesus would approve of." But you have to understand that KFC believes that hell is going to be full of

"You so remind me of Paul before his conversion. Have I ever told you that before?" The difference to me is Saul actively sought out Christians. If I were like Saul I'd be on fundamentalist websites, not just answering empty claims and hypocrisy on the one I'd frequent regardless. You'd be surprised how many fundamentalist Christians I know in

I like books, but I think that the vast majority of paper we use is wasted. The vast majority of everything that comes to my mail box ends up in the trash immediately, and almost all of it does eventually. Businesses waste a lot of space storing documents that could be stored electronically on a hard drive. That's money you and I pay when we buy their products, and in terms of our taxes the government is a million times worse. I can see that there are a lot of industries that rely on
