P.S. For a more obvious example, just look at the Big Pharma. There is another situation where an industry has finagled their relationship with the government to the point that the industry is uncompetitive and punitive to the consumer. Look at what they have done with patents, etc. That doesn't come from government inaction, that comes from government overaction. The oil industry is a different branch of the same problem.
