Well, to be fair some of them only gave it 80+. According to Brad it will be out by the end of the month .
GreenReaper
Tried windowed mode? (make a shortcut to galciv2.exe, then open up its properties and put a space and the letter w after the target and try to run it)
We are working on a demo now that the first patches are out. We wanted to make sure that any bugs that were causing problems for our customers were fixed first!
That box looks like the normal edition, but I think they are just selling the CE.
It is true that buying direct from us will be most directly beneficial to our bottom line. We want to make sure that it makes it in stores, but I think that given the current situation we are not anywhere near as concerned about this as we were last week.
We will probably try to manufacture as many as are required to meet demand for those who choose to buy directly from us. As for Wal*Mart, it's up to them how many they order, but my understanding is that it's the only version they stock.
It is likely to value good ships more when it gets the chance to upgrade them. Further tweaks will be made, I'm sure. Brad's not quite finished yet.
No, you need to export from Max (or whatever). I believe the DirectX SDK comes with a plugin as well as a program called TextureConv that might be able to convert them. <a href="http://www.codeprojec
Well, it's not called "breaking news" for nothing . . . As HEEGZ says, check drivers (both video and sound), and make sure you're patched. That tends to solve most issues. If not, let us (or support) know more.
I think it would be cool to have something . . . let's call it an "Eden Device" . . . that could be used to convert class 0's to something good - but it should cost .
You need to get the Windows Script 5.6 installer. Go here for XP/2000, go here for 98/ME.
I'm not quite sure what the problem is. You have to put the serial into Stardock Central once. That should be it. If you've bought online you might not even have to do that, as it'll probably associate itself with your Stardock.net account. The dual serial numbers were a mixup at Paradox's end, and by the time they realised there was a problem it was too late for them to change the boxes, so we just had to deal with the situation.
I never deal with tributists. If they want the money, they can come and take it! Besides, they'll probably just send a few wussy ships and I'll crush them and they'll sue for peace, like all the res . . . yes, what is it? Commander, we have a Torian Battlestar on the starboard bow! What?! They were in Alpha Ceti VI last week! Quick, man the . . . ohhh, sh-*BZZZsst*
Simple answer: Starbases do take taxes, port fees, etc. but only get enough to maintain themselves. So you don't pay to keep them up there (unless you have to due to a UP ruling) but you don't get any money directly out of them either.
Yes, just bump the ticket at Stardock and it should get addressed. Three weeks ago GalCiv II was just being released and we could have lost it in the shuffle. Apologies for the inconvenience. :-/
Some AIs are probably better than others at this, but it could also be that AIs grabbing all the good planets early on smacks of cheating, even if they do it legally, and "isn't as fun" as a slower expansion rate. I know this was something that was discussed previously on the GalCiv forums. If this is the case, it might be possible to put more of a "killer instinct" for planets in on the higher levels.

I understand that there are six hard disks, running under RAID 10. The CPUs are the fastest dual-cores we could buy.
try ctrl+mousewheel if in Firefox. Works well here.
Progress on the wiki has been pretty hectic - there's now over 160 pages, and yesterday we had 4,000 visitors drop by. Not bad for a week-old site! Many thanks to (in no particular order) Steelviper, Manny, Raijen, MxM, WanderingPhysicist, DarthKryo, ConsumedCrustacean and Siel for their recent contributions, as well as anyone else who's dropped by to edit a page or few. It'd be nice to see more strategic discussion on there, though,
tetleytea: I'd have to disagree with your statement that it's a "mainstream commercial product". It's a game. Games tend to have the same "version 1.0" issues as every other new product release, plus they are often far more complicated than most applications. You're right, though - we should get more QA, but it's not as easy to find reliable staff as you might think. Most high school students do not make good bug testers. And, unfortunately,
You should be able to archive the game on one PC using Stardock Central and restore it on another if you need to get a copy to a machine without internet access. Wireless cards are pretty cheap nowadays, though.
OK, guys, chill. Let me give a little more background. SDMCP is not spyware. It sends nothing back to us, for a start, and isn't involved in collecting any personal information. At the worst, you could call it bloat, though even that's pushing it. Its purpose is to help some of our Stardock applications work by providing a central resource for things lik
Wow. That's seriously good news on Walmart.
Sure, when Paradox gets it out into stores.
