Make sure you have the latest video drivers. Use fast skins. Non-animated, UIS1 square skins with tiled borders tend to be the fastest. If something like Blackcomb is too slow for you then you're unlikely to find any fast enough for you, but if not, keep looking. Oh, and check out the Performance section in WindowBlinds Advanced Configuration/Settings. Probably won't help much but you could try tweaking a few things there.
You can do this, but you have to redesign the logon's structure, and for that you need to edit the UIFILE.txt file. It's written in a form of XML. You'd have to take the bit that looks a bit like out of the bottempanel section and put it in the leftpanel (or somewhere else). You could then get rid of the bottompanel and the toppanel sections. The mac2000s skin was made before Windows XP was made, so does not have support for those XP features. You can either use a taskbar from another skin (click the Advanced button in Display Properties/Appearance, there's an option) or just use a skin with WinXP support (search for them via the appropriate checkbox on the WindowBlinds library - almost all new WB skins support it). WindowBlinds? You must go to Explorer Tools/Folder Options menu and select Use Windows Classic folders as well as enabling semi-transparent explorer windows in the Advanced settings dialog and checking the Explorer backgrounds option.
Sounds very much like a conflicting program that's intercepting the "this window needs to be painted" messages and not passing them on to WindowBlinds. Do you have any other programs that affect the window (eg showing a time, adding extra buttons)? What is the "descriptive header"?
I've heard rumour that there will be at least one available in a matter of weeks, but that's not official.
Unfortunately if you skin the logoff button you lose the skinned logoff *icons* mouseover state.

Art: Replacing the boot screen replaces the NT kernel in which it is contained. If you try and upgrade everything and keep the kernel you're obviously going to have problems - it's like trying to plug a keyboard into a mouse port and expecting it to work. Actually, I got warned about this when I tried to install - it didn't let me.
The reason is that those skins are using UIS2, which allows the flexibility but which causes this problem. MS had this problem too - they had to add special handling for Windows XP (and WindowBlinds uses it, so with that OS it's not a problem). You either have to put up with it, upgrade or use only UIS1 skins.
Ahh, WB 2.0, that brings back memories. Soooo many builds . . .
But it's the most popular ones that are causing the most problem by taking up download bandwidth.

This is a known problem when some programs take over the click messages and don't pass them on to WB. Programs that do this include the CommonNames IE extension and Logitech Immersion Desktop with the Enable Forces option on for iFeel mice. Some explorer extensions also do this - anything that adds to existing programs is suspect. Try unloading any extension apps you have. The problem may also go away temporarily if you unload and reload WB (obviously not a permanent solution).

Sounds like something is blocking WB, and only when the block times out is it continuing. Just a hunch, try temporarily disabling any firewall or virus checking software - sometimes they have hidden windows that can cause this.

3 applies to every window you load, if it has to load anything for it. Some skins load, say, a new copy of notepad almost twice as fast as others.

Or you could [email protected] Stardock support . . . A winstyle will not override things that are not included in the style. So if your new winstyle has only a WB skin and an OB theme and you have a DX theme loaded, it won't change the DX theme. As for the disappearing icons, check that it's just not a popup that's displayed when you move your mouse to the bottom of the screen.
Also you could try copying all the directories somewhere, deleting the originals and then copying them back. I think the problem was linked to when the skin directories were created - it listed in order of creation rather than alphabetically.

If you are actually getting errors then it is highly likely to be your video drivers. Try toggling a few of the settings in the WB Advanced Configuration/Settings/Performace dialog. You could also try reducing hardware accelleration in Display Properties/Settings/Advanced... or try using the RageLTMan drivers at http://www.rage3d.com/files/drivers/rageltdriver.shtml.
