This same post could be posted in the Konfabulator forums about the downfall of DX. Most likely, both products will still be around. Keep in mind, not everyone will upgrade to Vista when it comes out, and for those who don't but still want widgets, will turn to DX or Konfab. And by the way, the guys at Konfab didn't 'sell out.' People make software, music, paintings, literature so they will make some money and be successful.

Man, I think my computer needs really specific memory because Newegg, Tiger, Best Buy, Circut City, etc. don't carry it. Cheapest I've found what I wanted was $150 for one 1GB module. I want two of those. Looks like I'll have to wait for the price to drop or shell out $300. Doesn't really seem worth it though. Thanks all.

I'm looking to upgrade the memory on my Dell laptop, but Dell doesn't sell the upgrade anymore. Does the brand of what I buy matter at all? Crucial, Kingston, Corsair, blah blah blah. Is one better than the other, so long as it fits the specs I need. They all seem to have what I need, but some are different prices than others. There are also cheaper ones I could get, but I don't know if they are as good. Thanks -

We also have to remember it's not Bill Gates making the decision. It's probably some people from the legal department who want to cover their asses. And probably want to cover Kol's ass too. I don't think MS would want to have to sue Kol to get him to remove it. Big companies don't and can't always act like nice guys. We shouldn't blame MS for doing this, but they should have gone about it better. -Adam

I think we can all see both sides to the issue. Maybe Kol should have asked for permission (as if he would've gotten it). Microsoft is a huge company with much wealth and resources, so why should they care if someone uses a couple of their images? I accidently deleted my website off my server the other day, so I had to reupload everything. I thought it was all good and no big deal. But a couple people using Firefox said there were spaces in my navigation bar and the page didn't load correctly. I looked at it in Firefox 1.5 and IE and it looked fine. Is there a way to drag a file onto a program icon in ObjectBar and have it launch in that particular program. For example if I want to edit a .jpg in Imageready rather than Photoshop (the default image editor), can I drag the .jpg onto the Imageready icon, and have it open in it? All it lets me do now is add the .jpg to the dock, which doesn't do me much good. If there isn't a way to do this, could it be added to a new version of

Make sure you have 'Show pre-release versions' checked on the bottom of SD central. Otherwise you can't get the beta upgrades.

I have a Dell Inspiron XPS (the big fat 500lb one) with a P4 3.4 GHz, 1GB RAM and blah blah blah. The main reason I dont use the dock is pretty simple: you cant drag files onto a program in the Dock and have it launch in that program. When you drag a file onto an Icon on the desktop in Windows, or onto an icon in the Mac Dock, it launches in that program. But in Object Dock, it just adds that file to the Dock.
