So what is stopping you? Lack of money for a campaign, and I'm not old enough according to the Consitution. Believe me, if I thought I had even the slightest chance of winning any seat in gov't, be it the local, state or federal, I would jump on the oppurtunity.

I wonder if there are going to be variations on it. XP has the blue, green and silver, so I wonder about what else there will be. I never was a big fan of that translucent white look. Maybe if it was all the color of the taskbar. Either way, I'm sure I'll end up using WB on it, if I get Vista at all.

I agree, 47songs. (Look at #13) I simply find it hard to believe that any person who becomes a politician will always be swallowed up by the corruption. Someone has to break that cycle. I don't know if it would be me, but if it were, I don't see any situation in which I would give in to the corruption. But there is always something to be done. Saying all politicians are corrupt doesn't accomplish anything. We all know that already. I am wondering what types of systems you all think would prevent this. What could we, the citizens of the country, do to improve the system. It doesn't matter what particular country, since what one country does affects others, and most countries will experience the same types of problems, if they aren't already.

If any of you live in Connecticut, there is an Ice Cream place somewhere there called Peaches&Cream. Went there on vacation once. They have strawberry ice cream that tastes more like strawberries than actual strawberries. I always liked that ice cream we made in science class back in high school.

Sounds a bit extreme Lantec. It would probably work, but nearly impossible to put in place. I just think politicans should be under more scrutiny, in terms of 'gifts' they get. It is hard to talk about the ideal government, since in an ideal situation, there would be no government. Government is a constant work in progress, but the citizens are the ones who have to do the actual work, if the government is to progress.

If it were possible to essentially make greed illegal for politicians, would that make things run smoother? I think the big problem is the transfer of money from big companies, trade unions, PACs, lobbying firms, etc., into the pockets of the politians. Yeah. I'm not sure about all those religions worshipping that one God, especially since Buddhists don't worship any god, and Hindus have a bunch of gods. I think the person who wrote the poem is flat wrong. They were basically saying that any display of religion or spirituality is banned from schools, which isn't true at all. When I was in high school, people used to pray a lot.
