Which skins had you tried applying when you ended up with this result? I have tried three per-pixel skins: 5imple Alpha, Aura, StealthOS and have had success in skinning the "Open With" dialog: Going off your system specs, there shouldn't be any reason why you should be experiencing issues. Have you tried unloading your skin and then open

What is the email account you used to register your product? There can be possible issues with your account that might cause programs to operate in a way other than what you'd expect. Try uninstalling/reinstalling WindowBlinds, this should resolve your issue. (You will not lose your skins by doing so.) Edit: Are you by any chance running the shareware version of WindowBlinds? Running on startup is a feature available only for the registered version. -Mike [Stardock Support]
Thanks Corky_O, it looks like your suggestion is a viable workaround. I'm reporting this issue to the development team to see if I can find out what might prevent the download button from properly applying the skin. -Mike [Stardock Support]
We've reproduced your problem and forwarded this issue to the development team. Thank you for reporting this issue. -Mike [Stardock Support]
Try this: Uninstall Windowblinds Navigate to your C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\Windowblinds directory Delete all files within it (you can leave your skins/subdirs) Restart your computer Reinstall Windowblinds It's a known issue that not all skins accessible from the Theme Manager are accessible from the Windowblinds Configuration. Please let me know if you're still having problems with the "Data Sourc

Unfortunately the shareware versions of our software are not supported. Norton Antivirus (ccapp.exe) has been known to hang for various reasons. I would suggest manually closing out of programs, one at a time before shutting down to see where your problem lies. If you are unable to find the source of the problem, you might need to uninstall the software. -Mike [Stardock Support]
Which theme are you referring to and what is the name of the object/widget? Had this been working previously? -Mike [Stardock Support]
There is an automated response that is sent when we receive an email at [email protected] , but these are only sent out for two reasons: To get you set up with our new support system Because your email has been filtered. I'm going to assume you've encountered #2, because I do not see a support ticket for you under the email address associated with your stardock.net account. In the email you received, it
Hi Thorsten Yes, as Lantec said, the spoolsv.exe file located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\ is used by your printer. Another file I know that Lexmark uses is lexbces.exe. This file should also be located at C:\WINDOWS\system32. Try adding these two files to the "Per Application" list to be excluded from skinning and let us know what happens. -Mike [Stardock Support]
Unfortunately support does not cover user-created material. You might want to repost your question in the OS Customization forum. You should be able to get help there. -Mike [Stardock Support]
You can change the icon associated with any file by using Icon Packager. It will actually insert an "Icon" tab into the file properties dialog. Just right-click on any file and then click properties. Click the Icon tab and you can change the Icon image to anything your heart desires. There is also a program called Res Hacker that can achieve this effect. -Mike [Stardock Support]
(The Wincustomize databases had to be reverted, so I am reposting/retyping my response) xgman: I fixed an activation error in your account two days ago. This would have prevented you from reinstalling WB5. alphadog: did you perform an uninstall and then reboot and reinstall and then reboot once more? I don't see anything on this end that would prevent you from successfully running Windowblinds 5 Beta. If it still doesn't work, I'd be interested to know which ver
Yes, it sounds like you'll need to invest in a new videocard, although you might want to double check to make sure your current card is not still under manufacturer warranty. On a side note, I know my 6800gt has a lifetime warranty -Mike [Stardock Support]
Thank you for reporting this problem. I have forwarded your issue to the development team. -Mike [Stardock Support]
We are aware of this issue. It is actually a problem on Microsoft's end. Since it's intermittently occuring, it's harder for us to track the problem. We do hope to have a fix for this in future releases. -Mike [Stardock Support]
Glad to hear we helped make your life easier. It's great when we get feedback, even when it's not the friendly kind-- we hear we're doing the right thing or learn what we need to change in order to do the right thing. Welcome, Mac user, to the Windows domain! -Mike [Stardock Support]
We unfortunately do not support user-created skins, themes, or bootscreens. You might want to repost your question in OS Customization if you do not get a somewhat timely response here. Progress bars are not always used in bootscreens; no, you are not required to create one. You should not need to edit anything else. -Mike [Stardock Support]
Which icon packages were giving you problems? Also which version of IconPackager are you running and which version of windows (including service packs)? -Mike [Stardock Support]
Where are you seeing the black spaces and which auto-hide button are you referring to? Which version of Windows are you using (including service packs)? -Mike [Stardock Support]
Unfortunately there is no RightClick configuration file documentation to date. -Mike [Stardock Support]
Direct3d is packaged with DirectX located here . However, an outdated DirectX shouldn't cause this problem. Your system came with the required DirectX to utilize the screensavers on your system. You would get a DirectX dll error if you did not have the proper version. It sounds like you might need to update your video drivers. If this does not resolve your issue, you might have a videocard problem. Try this:
