daniellost, The starbase in a fleet was caused by a bug with fleet rally points. It has been fixed in the next beta. Hawawaa, Glad to hear the warning saved countless innocent lives :)
Also, why does right clicking the tech in the sorted window not bring up the same popup?
That has been added in the next beta.
Thanks. I've fixed the manufacturing one (for next beta). I can't find the other one. It may already be fixed. If you notice it again, please write down the message text and let us know. Thanks.
This crash has been fixed in beta 3a. Now available.
But I do think the tech tree and trading windows could do a better job of showing WHICH techs are unique, which are unique but tradeable, which are unique and not tradeable... etc.
You bring up a good point. That information is not on those screens. We'll see if we can put a lot more of that information out in the open.
you'll have techs listed on your side of the trade window that you can't actually sell
Can you please give an example of this? What race are you playing as, and what techs are you not allowed to sell, but they show up in the trade list?
From what I understand with these unique trees is...obviously the unique techs are marked with the race icon.
Initially, the icons will indicate which techs are unique to your race. Please update to beta version 3a and see if the problem happens again. A couple questions: 1. How many starbases already exist in the sector? You are only allowed 4 per sector. (you should get a message about this though) 2. Does it happen every time? Is it something you can reproduce? 3. Can you save the game, load the game, and reproduce the problem? If so, please zip that save and send in your zip to <A href="mailto:gc2bugs@star
The new tech trees will take some time to learn and get used to. We've put a lot of data onto the research screen to try to help make the tech trees easier to use. For example, you can look at the techs and see icons indicating that you will get ship components or planet improvements. These icons have text if you hover over them. You can also right-click on a technology to bring up the new tech details screen. This screen displays a lot of data about t
I just made it so you can also right-click on the techs in the list on the tech screen to bring up the details as well. This will be in the next beta.
Loupdinour, Please download and install beta 3a and verify that the crash you reported has been fixed. coolhand133 and kevin_m_hughes, please try the new beta as well and see let us know if the problem continues.
Hmm I've tried your save and your prefs.ini, and am still unable to get the crash. Have you tried beta 3a (released yesterday)? Please let me know if you can reproduce it with beta 3a. I tried it with a clean version of 3a from Stardock Central and didn't reproduce the crash even when using your save and prefs.ini I tried unchecking and checking the option for "Remove functional components," and still can't crash it. We're going to try on other machine
LogicSequence, I haven't tried your game yet, just your most recent steps to reproduce it. I will try your save now to recreate the whole scenario. You could be right about the alignment. Usually I just pick Neutral when I do the cheat key since it's right in the middle. The cheat key will give you ALL techs in your tech tree, including all techs for each alignment. I will look into it and see if that is the cause or not.
If you still have a saved game from this, please zip it along with your debug.err file and send it to . If you don't have a save, and you notice this again, please save your game immediately and send that one to us. Thanks in advance.
is there someway to access the tech info on your research screen, not just the diplomacy screen. I am sure I am just missing it but if some one can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
The technology details screen can be accessed from the research screen. Just right click on a tech in the tech tree.
How uber are Terrorstars supposed to be? Whenever I blow up a sun, the game crashes.
Beta 3a
I just tried it, and was able to get the "blank" component icons to come up. However, it is not crashing. Please try again with the latest beta update and see if it still crashes for you. Please let me know what happens. Thanks.
As iconian Particle Beams in the tech trade screen do not have the numerals after them... so I see three "Particle Beams" in the menu and I can't tell which is which.
6. New tech needs to be described properly - this covers all races and tech - sometimes its not clear when you research something what its going to do until you've built it, an in some race cases not even then.
When you are on the tech tree screen or the trade screen, try right-clicking the tech. There is a new screen that will reveal not only what the tech reveals, but details about what those things do. The Terror Star crash has been fixed f
Thanks. We wanted to make navigating the new tech trees easier, and with so many new improvements and components and technologies, it can be difficult to figure out what does what. When you right-click on a tech in the tech tree screen (and also in the trade screen) you will get a window that shows you what the tech reveals and information about each of those things. For example, from the tech tree screen (playing as the terrans), I can see that the Integrity Grid tech
LogicSequence, I'm unable to reproduce the crash. Please save your game before you go to the ship yard. Zip it and send it in to . This way we can see if there is something wrong with your data files, or if there is something in your race configuration that is causing the crash. After you try that, you could try deleting your /my documents/my games/gc2TwilightArnor folder (or renam
I have fixed the terror star crash for the next beta. It only happens if you attack a star that will destroy inhabited planets. In the meantime, you can destroy uninhabited planets at will and gain asteroid fields.
Once you have the first terror star tech, you can begin construction of a terror star. Build a constructor and click the "Build" button. Choose "Terror Star" for the starbase type. As you research the other terror star techs, you will have access to the other terror star modules. Send a constructor to the terror star to add the new modules. Once all 5 modules are in place, the terror star goes into "mobilizing" mode for 10 turns. Once the 10 turns a
Glad you like the rotating parts. There is a play/pause button as mentioned in a post above that will stop the animation so you can place more parts. The animation is in play mode by default when you start a new ship or start modifying an existing ship.
Also, though it may be my imagination, it appears as though once you actually build an animated ship and it's on the map, the animation speed is 1 tick higher when displayed on the main map, than it is in the shi
Fixed the Fleet Warp Bubble techs so that they are hooked up properly in the tech tree. Each one will now require the previous warp bubble tech, except the Fleet Warp Bubbles 1 which will require New Propulsion Techniques. This has been fixed for the next beta.
Fixed the Fleet Warp Bubbles requirements so they hook up properly for next beta.
If you have a saved game please zip it and send it in so we can check out what is happening. Do you remember what kind of weapon the last shot used? (beam/mass driver/missile?)
