Actually, because we only see the bugs here on the forums, it's nice to see that things are working for others. Thanks for posting the survey. We'll be checking up on it. I'm not sure if you can add a question, but if you can, it'd be nice to know what video cards people are using: a. ATI b. NVidia c. Intel Integrated Graphics d. Other

Lord Alderaan , Since your computer is working at that resolution, would you mind posting your debug.err file for comparison? Thanks, - CodeCritter
Stevty2889, Do the artifacts you get at other resolutions stay "fixed" on the screen as you move the camera around the map?
Please try changing the "Maximum Mip Map Levels" option to "1 Level". The option can be found in the "Video" tab of the Options screen. Please let us know if that helps, or if the problem persists. Thanks, CodeCritter.
Please make sure your drivers are up-to-date. They are dated 2008. If new drivers do not help, try changing the "Maximum Mip Map Levels" option to "1 Level". The option can be found in the "Video" tab of the Options screen. Please let us know if that helps, or if the problem persists. Thanks, CodeCritter.

The options should not be "locked down." Please check the properties of your /my documents/my games/elemental/prefs.ini file, and make sure it is not set to read-only. You can manually open the prefs.ini file in notepad and near the top you will see entries for the screen resolution: DisplayWidth=1024 DisplayHeight=768 You can change this to your native resolution: DisplayWidth=1680 DisplayHeight=1050 and save
Donegal, your video drivers are about 4 years old. Please try the ATI site to download new drivers. Your laptop manufacturer may block ATI's drivers, though. So if they do you'll have to get new drivers from them.
Does clicking the "A" button always crash like that for you?
Does this graphical oddity happen every time? If so, please try changing the "Maximum Mip Map Levels" option (in Video tab) to "1 Level" If that doesn't help, try reducing your screen resolution. These are not meant to be optimal solutions, but if changing these options eliminates the problem, then it can help us narrow down what the real problem is. Thanks. - CodeCritter
Hmm, sounds like the intro movie is failing for some reason. Can you please run the game outside of impulse, then post your debug.err file here. If you need help getting that file posted, please see this link: https://forums.elementalgame.com/364285
MilConDoin, Please try changing your "Maximum Mip Map Levels" to "1 Level" in the "Video" tab of the options screen. Does this fix the problem? - CodeCritter
Good catch. I hadn't noticed this before. We'll have to look into that.
You should be able to equip two accessories, so two rings.
There is an issue with road building in the beta. It only builds to certain cities. It has been fixed internally.
Although this sounds un-related, please try a lower screen resolution in the Video tab of the options screen. Does this enable the Save button?
You can disable the zoom-to-cursor in the options screen.
Thanks for posting the videos.
The pictures on IGN have a zoomed in view, so you're not really seeing the whole hill, which makes it harder to tell. If you look at the picture linked by CoffeeMonkey, you'll see it is much easier to tell where the hills are. Also, you're right in that it is harder to tell with a still than a moving game. When you move the camera around, you'll see the differences in the way the light hits the hill which makes it very clear where the land is sloped. [quote who
beardy, I apologize for the delay. Unfortunately, I cannot determine why it isn't working. I'm afraid all we can do for you is process a refund. Please contact and they'll be able to help you with that. Thanks for sticking in there with us.
In the prefs.ini file mentioned above look for this line (below) and change it to =0. This may help you get into the game easier as well. MapIconOnlyMode=0
Also some games are password protected but you wont know until you click on them.
If there is an asterisk ( * ) by the number of players in a game, it is a password protected game.
Also, it really REALLY sucks that you can't at least talk to the people you're in a lobby with (or trying to connect to).
Once you get into the game lobby, there is a chat at the bottom of the screen. Before you get into the game, you can use the CVP IRC chat. Hit SHIFT + TAB and then go to the Chat option on the menu that pops up.
Frequently custom game listing never lists anything. If I try to host and get this error: HostGame in CVP failed.
Try making an exception for demigod.exe in your Windows firewall settings, or turn off your firewall. This is a common cause for not being able to host a game.
