Please check in Impulse to verify you have the newest version of Political Machine 2008. If you haven't updated, please update and then try loading your game and see if it looks ok when you load it. If that does not load right, try starting a new game, and then saving and loading it somewhere in the middle of the game. If it does not match up (or you already have the most recent version of the game), please send your saved game to <A href="mailto:support@star
You can also try turning off the Candidate Outlines in the Options screen. That may help it become less choppy.
Candidates can be unlocked by beating them in campaign. Each scenario unlocks certain candidate parts and/or candidates when you beat your opponent in "Quick Play" mode as well.
I saw it at the local Target store yesterday.
HOW-TO: Take a snapshot of your candidate and use the image online. NOTE: In order to do this, you will need to update to version 1.02.024 (or greater) via Impulse. The updated Political Bobble-head editor includes a "snapshot" feature which you can use to take a picture of your candidate that you can use outside of the game. As you can see, I'm using my own candidate's image as my avatar at this site. To take a snap shot, select the candidate you want to take
I can't promise that we'll add him in an update, but you could easily make your own Huckabee character in the character editor.
Terpfan: Please post your debug.err as boogiebac says, or email it to [email protected] with a description of the problem. The Intel 945GM should be ok, as it does support shader model 2.0. Although Gateway does not have newer drivers you may be able to check the Intel web site and get new drivers from there.
The ATI Radeon 9200 and 9250 cards do not support shader model 2.0, which the game requires. The Intel 82845G and Intel 82865G cards also do not support shader model 2.0. If you have one of these cards (this includes everyone who posted a debug.err above), please see this post for more information: https://forums.politicalmachine.com/315413
delijoe, Can you please post the contents of your debug.err file? This file can be found in /my documents/my games/PoliticalMachine2008/ Just open the file in any text editor, such as Notepad, then copy/paste the contents into a reply in this thread. That file will give us diagnostic information. Thanks.
You can also choose the screen shot image format by going to the Options screen and changing the "Screen Shot Format" option. The following image formats are supported: PNG JPG BMP TGA DIB
Taking In-Game Screen Shots Sometimes, when playing the game, something cool happens where you would like to save a screen shot. You could use third-party tools to do this. You could also use the PrntScrn key and then paste the image and then save it. The Political Machine 2008 actually lets you save a screen shot image file directly from the game! <FONT size=
The debug.err file can be found in your /my documents/my games/politicalmachine2008/ folder. The file is created when you start the game, so if you don't see the file there, please try re-running the game. If it does not appear there immediately after running the game, please let us know.
If you don't mind, I have a few questions: Is this GC2, Dark Avatar, or Twilight? Does this happen every time or was it just this once? Does the planet gradually scale up or does it pop? Can you please post your debug.err file? Also, you may want to try adjusting your "Tactical Map Zoom Level" option in the Options screen to see if makes any difference.
Your video drivers are from 9/18/2005. Perhaps when you had it in for repairs they reverted your drivers back to their originals? You should be able to find an updated driver if you visit the www.nvidia.com website. See if that helps.
BigGreenOrk, It looks like your using the Twilight beta, and this is a known issue. I think it is probably the same bug as reported here: https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=421&aid=173167 Please try turning off the "Use Enhanced Ship Rendering" option in the Options screen. You will need to restart the game, so make sure you save your ship and your game. When you start up the game again
I am happy to announce that I have finally tracked this one down and it will be fixed in the next update.
I am not aware of this being reported before. There shouldn't be a "welcome to galaxy" message again. Had you saved and reloaded between the time you made peace and got the message? If you have a saved game before this occurred, please load it and try it again. If your'e able to get the message to come up again, please zip the saved game with your debug.err file and send it to [email protected] . I
Arutha, thank you for the screen shots. I can see exactly what you mean. Please send your debug.err file to [email protected] . Also, if you have a saved game that woudl reproduce the problem, please zip the saved game file and include that in your email message as well. Do the icons do this every time? Have you seen them fall and not overlap the buttons at any time?
You only get War Profit from civs that are at war but not at war with you. It sounds like the Terran and Kryx were at war and you were getting money from that war. Then once both declared war on you, your war profit cash flow would be stopped. If you do not believe this to be the case, please do zip and send your save and debug.err to [email protected] . Thanks.
Thanks, s w h (and anyone else who would like to keep an eye out for this)
MrKorx, Do you have a saved game from before your ally de peace that would reproduce what happened? We had it happen once here but are unable to reproduce the precise situation that caused it. If you do have a save, please zip it and send it along with your debug.err file to [email protected] . That would help us to find the bug more quickly.
swh, that sounds like a different thing, but I have a good feeling I know what caused that. Do you remember which hull it was? Can you take a screenshot of it and indicate which was the bad hard point (where you attached it and it appeared somewhere else)? Thanks in advance.
I'm happy to say we finally tracked down the cause of this bug, and it will be fixed for our next update.
In case you missed it, G4 has the video of the interview/demo here: http://www.g4tv.com/xplay/previews/19985/Hands_On_Sins_of_a_Solar_Empire.html
