Well.. at the begginning of the game if you do something like adjust their relations to you to 'close' don't matter if they're clear across the universe on the other side far off behind several other alien races (ie definitely out of your starting range) you can contact them. Also when it is time for UP those races are in it along with you.

btw, anyone else laugh at the mention of 'Mitrosoft' and derivative products.. forget what tech that is. I sure giggled when I read it.. think it fits here.

So what you're saying is loading a new race that was saved adds on the 'new' bonuses to what is already bonus now, when it really should be the same ?? whoa!!

I'll share bugs I've encountered thus far, 1) Bug - P.I. - Xenofarming 6 mt/wk capped on some planets where it should be 8. 2) Bug - Survey ship/Flagship will stop autosurveying 2 to 3 spaces next to an anamoly. 3) Bug/Error - Planet/Colony management screen - any level of production or research over 100 will cause shields or beakers to overflow out of the box. I see where a big shield represents 10 and little ones are 1. Can solve this by making a unit to

What really gets my goat is how the Alexians can be soo ultimately powerful in midgame when I'm the tech leader and ownage of 20+ star systems or ~30 colonies and they have 2 or 3... Is the GNN report whacked or what ? Not just me, the 'minors' were more powerful than all us major races... I find this disturbing. Regards to Dark Yor = ROFLMAO, love the name makes me giggle everytime. Also the Venge gets started as some galactic terrorist group which is a n

16 ) Can we make it so can set a starbase to be a rally point ? So like if I designate some planets to produce constructors and have a rally point at a starbase... after they're produced, off they go to upgrade it ? I tried this but only stars and planets showed up in screen with rally points. Military starbases also make good gathering points before sending fleets off (the bonuses provided for combat) so I like having 'staging areas' Thanks.

also have you considered like theres some techs no races have ?? get hyperdrive and universal translator techs those two lines can generally trade with races and if you trade for 1 or 2 techs per alien race you will close the gap and at least be equal. All it would take then is adequate research facilities and your off on tech lead. I've noticed that you can play around with how other races are to you at the start of game... set them all to close if you want to do some trading aft

On the whole, agreeing with comments made by posters here, I re-read the manual and think its pretty good for the info it does have. Some of MY concerns may be more along the lines of a strategy guide, but it sure wouldn't hurt to have a advice from the devs section giving tips on how to get the most of your game and how to play it effectively. please please please consider this or consider a strategy guide for the game.

Also would agree with tutorial for new folks, possibly a tutorial scenario we could walk through step by step ?? Another thing I was hoping to get info on in either the farming section or planetary section is how many people can a planet hold ? and how is that calculated ? I'd also plug for a tool-tip over the planet icon at the colony manager screen, where you've already implemented one for morale and influence.

Re: borders - no. I would like that also. "Get outta my space or our fleet will vaporize you. " I can imagine a Drengin ambassador already. Imo the units are correct now, planetary populations are shown like 5 B ( for billion ) , Not sure about trillion never got that many pop. I have had several hundred billion though.

some tips for colony ship build times, rush techs like space milatarization and space warfare, planetary improvements all give bonus to production. Also at onset of game I outright buy a factory the first turn. Don't forget to up your spending to 100% and raise taxes.. (48-49% ) Can also adjust your spending rate to favor military over social and research. And last but not least use a cheaper build(cargo hull, colony mod, hyperdrive engine) to

Regarding UP - should be able to negotiate for votes then ? So like the Drengin ambassador calls you up and says, me and the Yor ambassador are putting forth this bill at the UP next term about trade and we need you to vote yes. I'll give you x bc and this other tech you wanted if you'll do that. So basically agree with Popup

Yes and no. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but up to this point there are events in game and they do work. However, its only the ones that would occur random when colonizing a planet and the bonus or penalty applies to that particular planet. Regarding Starship bonus, you would benefit from increased military production. PQ bonus does work but you should do the math to see if its worth doing it. 40% on a pq 16 will actually get you a couple tiles, whereas on pq 7
