IDK Real Life is taking its toll on us. The guy who knows the guts of the is mod well (aka Nacey) is doing what he can. Rebellion changed a lot of things internally (which is why some of us laugh at the whole "nothing was really added" threads) so a lot of work is needed to be done.
I was wondering about a non-Reb version update

Comparing epeens via the size of your disc (collections) ? hehe. Parallels, Second Chance, Future imperfect, the Chase, cause and effect..you guys got them all..I like Time Arrow too..one fo the better Data episodes..(Redemption was another one) and when I envision Mark Twain that actor is now who I think of heh. Wish we could have seen more of him. Something tells me we like stories with time travel/alternate dimensions ect..no wonder Quantum leap was so popular..

Its not RTS like those games you've mentioned. You can, but dont micromanage units. You give fleets orders such as patrol this area of the map or survey this system..and they do that in real time..but thats like slow time..over like 10+ minutes.. the game isnt stressful clickfest and if too many things are happening at once you jsut pause and issue orders. Time isnt really an issue unless you accelerate it. Galciv2 is a very good comparison. It does have a HUGE learning curve though...don
Quoting enoeraew37, reply 42As I said they are charging you for work they left out of the original release. Rubbish. They clearly stated what was in their game and if you didn't like it then you don't buy it (and you sure as hell don't steal, sorry, pirate it). If you can find me an article where, for example, Firaxis claimed religion and espionage were in vanilla civ 5 then I'd certainly be interested to see it.

As I said they are charging you for work they left out of the original release. Something Jon Shafer has ample time to discuses with the community before they raped our wallets. Alas his loyalty was to corporations and his job not to fellow gamers or the quality of games in general. So the cycle continues.

Just because what you are stealing is intangible does NOT mean you are not stealing. You don't get the point. Tangibility is irrelevant. Removing original "thing" (tangible or not) is relevant. I, in fact, can steal something that is intangible: copy a file and delete it from the original source. Copying without deleting is not stealin

Yup the AI is much better at the little things involved in managing troops in the field. For example evil Dido of Carthage took my third city early on with a army of 1 warrior and 5 archers..I thought..no problemo but Dido arranged her archers in such a way that I couldnt get to them all before they drop the health of the to super low levels. The warrior then ran in and took the city, and when my army finished off the archers it was able to retake the city. The warrior stayed just long enough

@Kyro & Frogboy : Still waiting for you to address why the Galciv2:ToA shipped with completely broken AI and you've done nothing about it but grab the money as it flowed it. Here is an ethical question for you - you gunna pay the modders who are fixing your game for you? If developers can justify lying to customers about the quality and completeness of the product they are taking money for then I fail to see how its suddenly unethical for customers to "test" the product for fr

1) Civfanatics sadly has been a for profit puppet of 2k for a bit now. You go there, post safe posts, stick your nose up the butts of the brass and hope to get hired while the site owners rake in huge profits from ads. Choose one of the many splinter sites if you want a honest opinions that takes many different perspectives into account. 2) I order from Getgamesgo.com for $22. We are basically paying for 2 features that should have shipped with the game to begin with..but I'll giv

well first..there is all those people paid to sit at home and click on ads so companies think ads are great. Then there are the forum bots that occasionally post subversive ads of thier own "FE is great its like my favorite game x". They need to click on these to appear to be real amoungst other reasons. Then there are the people like me whos cat jumps on the computer whenI get up for a tonic. I am a firm disbeliever that anyone ever clicks a banner ad on purpose.

My problem with Steam is its effect on the marketplace. They provide a good service to the majority of gamers. But always online discriminates against poor kids whos parents cant afford an internet connection. Its already hard enough to find a good selection of videos games in a store. Sooner or later games in stores wont exist at all..and that will unfairly box out a section of gamers. Steam is an irresponsible choice for the future of gaming.

I'm not sure if this is one of those "go play another game " issues for the devs but I also would like to see the catacylsm to civilization process more played out than it currently is. I feel the problem with cities and pioneers is in the numeric formulaic population system that is a holdover from civ and really doesnt work with this sort of game. I think instead of some obscure hidden formula being the source of population quests to rescue/convince/tame lost fragments/tribes cou

If your values say something is wrong..and you ignore them and just move on with your life...do you have values? Is it enough just to say you have them or are they a product of actions not words? And if do have values can they be about games or are games too trivial to have values about?

If 100 million young people purchase product x that you think is bad/wrong..and play it..and it becomes successful so that 300 million more people buy and play it...doesnt what was originally considered "bad" become the status quo? And what was right now become pase or wrong. If gamers have morals, are they required to act on them less said morals be decayed and go extinct? If we are the "parents" of gaming should we just respect the childs mistakes or correct them? &n

Pick something you think is "bad". Lets assume there is a website dedicated to it. Is it ok for people to give money to that website? To visit it? To partake in its content? Or does that make them "bad" too? Is it different for a game that does something "bad" and the people who play it?

I was thinking about Torchlight 2 vs Diablo..and I was saying to myself..D3 might end up being a very good game but my values as a gamer are violated by the always on internet and real money auction house. So even if D3 ends up being as good as d2 I'll never play it and no one else should either. Whoa...what was that last part? Thats the question. If a game violates core values is it ok for other people to play it? Other are enablers of said broken values and thus enemies of gamin

Its a game where you hand write apology letters and refunds to the many customers you burned. Seriously wait at least long enough to see if he sticks around or bails after release.
