Most good programs are like that.
No, a 'good' program is 'tamed quite nicely' when you install it. If you have to 'mess with the settings a bit' just to get it tame, then it's doodoo caca. All I know is, I dealt with the programming abortion that is Norton for far too long before I wised up and wiped that incessant, useless and ineffectual program off my system. I still remember the first time I did a scan (after having used Norton forever, and
From what I'm reading on the sites (this one included) ... I should probably go ahead and get the expansions. Seems to be a lot of new & fun additions.
Keep in mind with the Game of the Year, you already own the first expansion, Dark Avatar. So all you need now is the Twilight of the Arnor expansion. It's great. :D
I have nothing but great respect for his conduct as far as his family goes.
I have nothing but great respect for his conduct as far as his family goes (at least after about 1980 and the whole cheating on his first wife and kicking her to the curb for the rich heiress - oh, and the way he talks to his wife behind closed doors, too).
Is there is a way to tell what version/release of the game I am currently playing?
When you start up either Dread Lords or Dark Avatar (you have both the base game and the first expansion in the Gold edition), look down in the corner. It'll tell you what version you're running. I've got mine all updated, and my version numbers are: Dread Lords: 1.5 Dark Avatar: 1.80g Enjoy the game, and if you have any other questions, come on back a
Guess it becomes a tradition. Even at home I find myself craving things such as popcorn when watching movies.
So do I. And you know why? Because the food industry and the entertainment industry are inseparably locked. Thus the entertainment-themed foods (Spider-Man cereal, anyone?) and the food product placement in movies, not to mention the advertisements seen before, during, and after. Plegh. I'm feeling very anti-establishment lately. /me s
I still find Colbert a pain in the butt!
I think, with the passing of George Carlin, Stephen Colbert may be the funniest man alive. You don't believe me? Go watch the 3-part YouTube video of his speech at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2006. The man is a genius. Just look at the expression on Bush's face as everything he's done and every policy he's backed is eviscerated.
Is that supposed to happen? Attacking without warning? I don't think I've ever seen that before.
You, sir, just got hoodwinked. Don't tell me you haven't done the same - been all chummy-chummy with a race, gotten 'friendly' or 'close' and then, once you were sidled up alongside, you gave them a smile while you kicked them in the balls. The AI just tried to do the same to you. ;)
I don't think you can blame these pregnancies on a movie.
Why not? If you can blame teenage sex on the media and violence on video games, you're not responsible for anything anymore. And isn't that what we really want? To feel like we have clear consciences? All I know is, when I go on MY shooting spree, I'm blaming GTA. And when Cedar finally admits she's pregnant, I know she's putting that blame on Juno.
Pardon my provincialism, but are you implying that household digital clocks outside the US use what I was brought up to think of as "military time?" If that's so, I hope I can find a good import option when my alarm clock dies.
Yes. It's much easier to keep straight. It was one of my biggest surprises when I moved to Europe.

If you want to get the whole storyline behind the games, play through the campaigns, starting with the original and then moving on to Dark Avatar. If you couldn't care less or if you just want to play Civ-style sandbox gaming, you can play either one. Dread Lords is easier, Dark Avatar is a bit more involved and has some changes to it that make me prefer it (such as super abilities, new races, better ship designer). I've always intended to play the campaigns, but I'm not patie
does anyone know what the influence of the TS on the game mechanics is? I am speaking of military power, relation to other races etc. Logic would tell having such a weapon of mass destruction should be very frightening to the other civs either weakening your relations or strengthen them - depending on the diplomatic situation.
The one game I actually built and used one, suddenly the entire galaxy either declared war on me or went hostile - and it's not like I was attackin
