Or anyone who knows the answer. Basicly what I want to know is.. are there certain times, or situations, where a certain computer opponenent will just NOT ally with you? I ask this because in one game.. I allied with the Torians and the Thalan fairly easily. Later on I wanted to expand my alliance to the Arceans. because I am still trying to figure out the system, I decided to save the game to see what combination of "gifts" worked the best to open an alliance.<br

Well I quit that game without finishing it. I am getting bored with Normal difficulty.. I know im going to win and it takes the fun out of it. I think im gonna boost it up to Tough for my next game. Anyway.. since I didnt finish the game im not gonna write a story about it. here is the short and skinny. As I said..the Torians surrendered and they left me their planets. Well, they left me about 8 planets (pretty much doubled my planet count).. 2 of them w
I love minor races. I trade them all my military, logistic, engine techs. They wont ever use em against me..so it works out well .
Just curious if anyone has had something interesting happen through an event, or from an anamoly. For the most part mine have been pretty boring. Never seen a major event... mostly ive seen Ranger ships, and a big beam that doubled population growth. Anamolies have been more boring.. everything is either a sum of money or a 25% "boost" in my current research. I just wonder if there is better stuff out there that I just havent experienced yet <img src="smil
What id like to see with espionage. 1. Inside information one what the next UP will be about. 2. The ability to "push" civs that you have a high espionage rating with, towards the choice you want.
if you built a custom ship then tried to save it with the name of one of the ships already in the game..then it will tell you you cant modify a core design. like I tried to name a ship "ranger" and it told me I couldnt.. but I could name it "Ranger2"
A couple days ago I thought Evil was to obvious a choice.. but ive been playing around with Good and beleive me..it is very beneficial...maybe TOO powerful. for one.. its bonuses to moral and such are inherant.. Evil has to build stuff to get the bonuses.. which not only takes time and money, but precious spots on your planets. for two.. the Good temple gives you a portion of all other good race's trade profits.. and there are alot more good than evil civs. third
Ive seen over and over and over the explaination on the difficulty levels and how much of the AI is used at each level. But now when I really want to see it I cant seem to find it anywhere. At what difficulty level does the CPU play at 100%?
Nevermind.. I think I just solved my problem This is too good.... I think im gonna have to take some screenshots and post a story later.
Best advice I can give you is to slow down. Im at the point where im beating normal now.. and the only reason I am is because im taking my time. I consider which tech would be best.. and try not to research any tech that requires more than 8 turns to complete (unless it will give me a nice advantage). I try to speak to every race I know of every other turn or so..just to see if they have anything im interested in. From the beggining I pick two races that start off with a
So in the game im currently playing, im being influenced to death by the Altarians. The problem is that im currently at war with the Korx, and dont really want to add another party to the mix. Additionally, I cant really afford to pump out constructors cause im too busy pumping out fighters to take out the Korx with, and to give to my Allies (well..Ally now... the Torians just surrendered..but they gave me their planets! i love those little bug eyed ****ers!) SO!..what would you re
Jumpgates...if I remember correctly... were not instant transport in the fluff. It took years to travel the gates.. but it was still infinately faster than regular travel.
I have two requests, and one question, about the forums here. Requests: 1. Can we create a seperate forum for the "unimportant" sticky threads? I imagine there are certain ones we would want to leave here to make sure people see them and read them before reporting things/asking questions... but the Sticky's are now taking up the entire first page before you hit the "more" button.. and it would be alot easier to see if there are any new posts if at least half of the fir
Ok im pretty proud of this one .. I went your route to try and make a round hull.. that can be kinda tough heh. Anyway, here is my Sensor ship. Front http://img228.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bigfront8gb.png Back http://img301.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bigback6kg.png You cant really tell by looking at it..but its HUGE. Just about ev
Im new to the series. A few months ago I was really itching to play something in space.. I was wanting a "space opera" type game. So I went to the gamespy forums and asked people what good games are around to satiate my hunger. They recommended a number of games... Eve.. Space Rangers..etc..etc.. So i went and checked them all out. And that is how I found this game. It had everything I wanted.....a grand scale.. lots of tech....ship design..custom races.. So for the l
I dont have time to post pictures right now, but ill give you the info. Name: Republic of Texas Leader: Corbie Kitaal Home Planet: Texas Icon: Texas Flag (the "american" looking flag) Story: It goes like this. 50 years from now, everything is going to fall apart in the middle east.. its going to cost millions of lives and will bring earth to its breaking point. The good news is that this will be the first step towards a unified Earth, as all c
on parts staying in the toolbar at the bottom of the design.. I beleive this only happens after you have put enough parts on the ship to extend it past the initial bar. (meaning once you get the little arrow to move down the bar) You can fix this by simply scrolling back towards the beggining of the bar... once the deleted parts are off the screen, they will disappear. I dunno if this made much sense..hopefully it was coherant enough that you can figure it out <img src=
I really like the idea of "accidental breakthroughs" hehe. it would be interesting to be researching a new type of laser.. and inadvertantly discover a "frequency" or causes the laser project to explode in tremendous fashion. The downfall: You have to start over with that laser technology The benefit: You just got a very powerful new missle technology. that wo
I love the epic feel of this game. You can really get in the mindset that you are taking over the universe and haggling with these alien races. Anyway, eventually, id like to play a huge game with each one of the races. Im talking a week long extravaganva . What would really help it along though..is more backstory on the races. Its alot easier to get immersed in a game, playing as (for example) the Drath Legion, if you had an
I havent figured out how to post a picture yet..so here are the links to three of my designs. My personal Enterprise. I didnt like the medium hull that Terrans get.. its not quite right to make an accurate Star Trek ship, so i made my own. http://img149.imageshack.us/my.php?image=tng3ou.png This one is the killer chicken.. made just for fun because I was playing around with a design and figured that if I put some legs and a beak on it it would look like a big
cool, thanks for the info. BTW.. Anamolies are supposed to respawn...they actually do but a bug causes them to not show up on your mini map or anything. You will only see them if you happen to be zoomed in when you pass it by. Once this is fixed, you are gonna want to keep survey ships around.
Well after scouting and grabbing anamolies(sp?).. I dont really know what to do with my flagship. I mean... should I upgrade it into a fighter?... what about those anamolies that give XP and such..will this transfer over with an upgrade? Just curious what you do with your flagship. And is there any penalty for losing your flagship?
very nice man. Im in the process of doing the same thing, though mine arent as good as yours. I recently "finished" my constructor replacement...though I think im gonna rework it a bit and make the arms symetrical, and probably change the front end a tad. I put all my picks together in one for ease of use..though they arent as big and that makes it harder to see the detail <br/
I switched the Yor over to be my own race.. changed their name, appearance..etc..etc.. because I liked their bonuses. Anyway..now I cant switch them back. I thought the "clear" button would go back to default...no dice. I could manually switch them back, but I dont remember every detail.
I got a class 32 in one game ...man that was sweet... unfortunately It was like my second game and I was on a small map at begginer level..so i didnt get to really use it.
