I cant figure out how to make troop transports effectively. 1. If I make them too large (1500), they take a long time to build. 2. If I make them too small (500), I end up short handed when it comes time to take over a planet. 3. No matter which avenue I go with, I never have enough. When I go on the offensive, I end up waiting and waiting and waiting to get a troop transport to a base that I already have locked down a

I dont understand Were there more PREORDERS than there was stock? Was there some huge error getting the game out? Why exactly does my gamestop still not have GC2? I mean..I would at least expect the game to be out in MOST places..not just Best Buy. What happened? A whole weekend reading posts from other people who get to play the game <img src="smiles/Mad.gif"
Fun > efficiency.. sometimes
sounds like you are overheating to me. If you here a "siren" type of beep...or really..any kind of repeated beeping..usually that is an overheating alarm sayings "SHUT ME DOWN BEFORE I BURN UP!!" in other words.. I would recommend you taking measures to keep your comp cooled. You may want to post your specs here so people can give you some advice. I know certain people with high end computers have been having issues with overheating due t
if my local gamestop doesnt have it tomorrow im gonna flip. If I have to go the whole weekend.....ugh.. On another note.. our Devs must be happy to see their game flying off shelves ..even though so many of us are pulling our hair out over it.
Lived in Texas for 4 years. I was so happy to see El Paso in my rear view mirror as I left. Thats cause you werent born and raised here. When its your home, there is no place like it.. when you are visiting..im sure you long for your caffe latte poetry hour, and your hordes of glassy eyed people wh
I still dont have the game (hurry gamestop!!).. so if this question is offbase, feel free to ignore it completely. But, ive seen some posts here where people complain about how deep the builder is and how it takes up too much game time.. and I was just curious if yall intended to streamline the engine in the future(through patches) to speed up the process?
"Texas is a state of mind. Texas is an obsession. Above all, Texas is a nation in every sense of the word " John Steinbeck "I must say as to what I have seen of Texas, it is the garden spot of the world, the best land and the best prospects for health I ever saw, and I do believe it is a fortune to any man to come here" Davey Crockett "I love Texas because Texas is future-oriented, because Texans think anything<br/
yep.. personally, I will be ecstatic if I can play a single game for an entire week and never grow bored. That, in my mind, is the pinnacle of gameplay . If I can get involved in the game and do things for FUN rather than NEED, then the game is an instant classic to me.
I havent played the game yet... still waiting for my store to get their shipment (god i wish id have bought it from Stardock..but alas, I had gift certificates to Gamestop). Anyway.. on the whole "its annoying to have to design new ships every time you get new technology" thing... Judging by the game examples ive seen.... building a new ship design for every new tech is not how the game is "meant" to be played. Again
How about Texas We arent necessarily a country.. but we are the greatest place on earth By the way, has anyone else ever noticed that there is a LOT of gamers in Texas? I just wonder if im imagining it because im from Texas and it stands ou
your right i did miss that option. I actually have known I could have gone that route for a week or two now... but I didnt know about it before I payed for the game at my local gamestop here.
Im one of those guys that just doesnt like buying online..and wants the box as well. 5 years from now I may say to myself "I really wanna play some Galciv"..and if I dont have the CD in my little CD tower here.. can i play it? Id have to go to your website and see if you still have it available for download.. if you dont, im gonna be very disappointed that I didnt buy the CD. and I dont like burning stuff. Until they really .
seems needless to me, personally. I just dont mind if the leader looks the same after a coup.. at some point in a game you have to suspend your disbeleif and knock the rust off of the ol' imagination. Id rather they updated the game with more ship parts, better AI, and features that improve the strategic aspects of the game.
yep ive got a presentation.. 3 quizzes.. a big project.. and a test ...all coming on Monday. But I think I can manage a few hours a night until Tuesday next week... then its on like donkey kong
combine the ideas and you could, for a small/medium price.. disassemble the ship. Your scientists would then examine the technology.. and this would in turn give you a bonus to researching that tech.. since you have a greater understanding of it now. So..basicly.. you are trading a ship, and some cash, for a nice research bonus for one of the Techs available on it.
talking about them behind their backs "have you seen the shoes the Drengin are wearing? ugh.. how last year can you get?"
The one liner from the Torians when the great and powerful "Bill" gave him some ships cracked me up. I really look forward to seeing all the hidden gems like that that they have in the game
I beleive there are certain criteria that have to be met for a game to be submitted to the metaverse... I doubt they would put in cheats or anything of that nature and then allow you to submit your score. im 99.99% sure that cheating in a game will automatically make your game un-submitable
Well im going with a Texan theme for my first unique "race".. and they will have names like Texas Ranger Armadillo Mockingbird Lonestar Cowboy Longhorn Yellow Rose ive got more but you get the idea
Since the forum wont let me edit my post.. I just wanted to point out that I am aware I misspelled "know" Bothers the heck out of me..but its not letting me change it hehe..so I figured id just reply so ill feel better about it
I was just reading the new gameplay Journal on the Alterians. ****IF YOU HAVENT READ IT AND DONT WANT TO KNOW HOW IT GOES.. READ NO FURTHER************************************************* . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ok so anyway. I was reading it and at the end when you no all is lost.. and you are just waiting to go down in a blaze of glory.. it is at that point that I like to throw in some cheats.. make an amazing
psssst... hey modders.. www.st-intelligence.com/ship_database/dom/st_dom.php
So, I havent played the game yet, so take this with a grain of salt. Anywho.. I understand that there are "only" 5 different ship designs in the game. I imagine that either through the community, or through our great developers here, we will eventually see more ship "templates" for the game. I was just thinking that it would be nice if all "excess" ship designs beyond the original five could be placed in a folder which the minor races could use to randomly select a type o
Ill be going campaign first. Im fairly new to the 4x genre and I havent played GalCiv2 yet. I heard that playing the campaign was the best way to get a feel for the game. So ill probably play about halfway through the campaign..till im comfortable with it.. then move over to sandbox for a little while.. then finish the campaign.
