I zoom out to see the icons at the beggining and end of each turn.. and when im moving between planets and such.. all other times i zoom in far enough to see the models.

it took me 2 minutes to throw together the bird..and like an hour and a half to make the enterprise..and everyone likes the bird hehehe. Figures.
...hmm... yah thats bad. I guess that kinda explains why ive yet to play a game where the Iconian Refuge was a threat. They are the only race that starts with Starship defense and Armor Theory
I dunno if this counts as a tweak or a full blown feature...but.. Allow players making a custom race to choose the template for the offical races. So, I could make a race and give them the Drengin abilities and such. I know this is possible by selecting that race and changing their name/appearance etc..etc.. but id like the option to have their abilities, but still play against them <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Sm
yah....no one that dull could have figured out how to get to this forum and make a post
that double the odds thing may be worth going good...just for that. having a race surrender to you can be a HUGE advantage.
I think it is probably a civ wide rule. having a planet at 100% approval is fairly common.
I wonder if he has alot of military mining bases... or if maybe that ship was his survey ship and he got alot of anomali bonuses and then upgraded it. I dunno... i wonder...
LOL. That's not a phrase I've ever heard before... Its my favorite quote from the simpsons .. used by Willy the groundskeeper in relation to the French hehe.
ouch..yah you are right. well shoot.. your SOL partner
I feel like im spamming the forums, but I discovered this last night... well i wouldnt say discovered, more like i thought of this and thought id share it with anyone who hasnt thought of it yet. Anyway... Once you have the Orbital Fleet Manager, dont bother building your good ships to orbit the planet. I have a ship I call the "Blockade Runner"... basicly just a regular ship, with a cool defensive look, but I give it no engines,
here is what ya do. or at least...this is what ya can try . His weakest armor is against mass drivers... so.. get a tiny ship.. give it three mass drivers (48 attack) and 2 engines (use the mk 2s instead of the mk 3s).. for 10 movement. You can fit 14 of these in a fleet. I dunno if it will take him out.. but your attack matches
no..but I might win cause I have the extra 20% bonus on a planet that I got for killing babies It may just be flavor..but some of the bonuses you get for making the evil choice are very real from a gameplay perspective.
Here are a couple of my "fun" designs. I just made these for the heck of it.. havent actually outfitted one with weapons and engines and used them in a game. (img not working so here is the URL) http://img136.imageshack.us/my.php?image=killerchicken3jt.png The killer chicken ..mor
The Collectors Edition download also unlocks some extra ship parts (cosmetic only, nothing that modifies ship stats) good stuff though .. I am especially fond of the little round connecter thingies. They give
I dont WANT to be evil..but I also dont want penalties to my planets. I am having a hard time finding any reason to be good. I have not fully delved into all of the bonuses available to each alignment and seen how they effect gameplay..but from what I can tell by reading it, it seems like good civs have a SLIGHT bonus in their abilities, over evil civs. And good civs get the defense bonuses, which is fine except that defense is nowhere n
just going by what ive "felt" while playing... not any actual numbers here.. but.. When i have an equal technological level in a weapon, and a defense.. I find that the weapon is a much better thing to have. That is very vague and hard to understand .. let me put it differently.. a scenario: by mid game I may have researched half
I despise the Drath. They look like a character out of a Disney movie.. causing me to immediatly blow them off..but in the end they are always stealing my thunder...taking over half the map..etc..etc..
I dont think this is possible..havent been able to figure it out if it is. But, it would be nice if we could select other races "abilities" as our own for a custom race. I love the Yor abilties and starting techs ..and id really like my custom race to have the same.
I guess im not the only guy in the dark on this
yep... its a "tactic" ..not an "exploit"
I think people are gonna find that starbases are overpowered eventually. I was on a large map.. and had a relatively small area of the map for myself. So I went the route of researching all the starbase modules I could for attack an defense. Then I made some cheap medium ships with fairly good attack amd no defense. THEN.. I set all my planets to build constructors and upped their military production to really pump t
Just a few questions about Diplomacy. 1. How do you make someone like you? Give them things for free? Accept their trade proposals? I dont quite understand this part since there is no real way to see if you are making progress with a race when you do something. 2. What effects an opponent's surrender? What I mean is..when someone surrenders..what makes them give their remaining planets to one race or another? is it based on w
Well ive had the game for about 2 days now, and I have played it an obscene amount of hours in that time. What is scary is that.. if I had spent this much time with any of my other games ive played, id have already mastered it, beaten it, and be digging for more ways to play it. I have barely.. BARELY..scratched the surface with GalCiv2. Most of my time up to this point has been spent cheating against the computer to try diffe
Id REALLY like it if the troop transport wouldnt disappear after using it .. if I could take it back to a planet and refill it, that would be sooooooooo much nicer.
