Senors ability upgrade after Sensors I not present. Meaning, Sensors I gives +1 sensors, but Sensors II, III, and IV do not give any.
Mithris
I think I found my first glitch with beta! Yay! Wasn't each additional upgrade in the senors technology supposed to give you more bonus in senors? I noticed senors I gave me +1 sensors, but the rest don't seem to have that.
Time to reap the benefits of your hardwork Stardock! Muhaha! Thanks for the amazing job, now go home and get some rest:)
Wow, that list is like the energizer bunny, it keeps going and going Hrm, one question though. + Terran Alliance will build defenders with no weapons (not needed to keep invaders out). Does this mean that a ship defending a planet dosen't need weapons anymore? If not, how does this work? *Edit* Hrm or is this to just keep transports from invading? (I think I ans
Frogboy said they took it off SDC and are uploading it as a standalone. Be patient.
I disable all victory conditions other than military now just so this doesn't happen by accident:P
For evil, you can get a 'Secret Police Center' and a 10% loyalty building that looks exactly like the reeducation center. Anyway, has anyone else run into this or feel this is a bug/not a bug? Also, you're right there are other ways to get to 0 week production, but I don't think the AI does this. This is an AI controlled colony now. Not sure how to prove it, but all my units are brown/green (earthy colors) since I'm playing the insectoid Thalan. My Ui is brown too (you ca
I love the ship builder and ship customization, but I see one major flaw with the way it's currently implemented. The problem lies in the fact that ships created with one chasis, say 'Yor', are still loadable in other main chasis classes such as 'Human'. The problem is the hulls are very different, but the jewelry pieces and ship components are still assigned to the corresponding ship size models. All this does is create super ugly ships i
Hi, in my last game when the Torians surrendered to me I recieved a planet called Thuban III. It was in the middle of the massive Yor empire. The yor's culture is threatening every other civs's existance, but the saving grace of this planet was it came with a reeducation center. I -thought- it would be protected from culture flipping, but I was wrong. Last turn, it flipped and I lost a very important outpost/military production planet in the center
I agree. I think it'd be fantastic if we could have races arranged in a circular pattern, corners, etc. It is rather annoying to have all the AIs on one side and you on the other side by yourself.
If you declare war and then immediately ask for peace (plus a few planets), they'll give them to you and surrender faster:)
But at least you get to stick it to the man (in blue)!
Yes, Zevus it does. It acts like an economic capital, but gives 100% planetary bonus instead of 50%. Speaking of the mind control center, I think there -does- need to be a wonder that preforms what the mind center is supposed to. I've played games where enemy colonys have been ripe for flipping, but didn't for over a year. There have been instances where my ratio is far beyond the 4 required (from 40 to 70), and it'd still take a very
I've always worried about this bug happening to me on this resolution, so I always vote no on them:) On a side note, why oh why does the global council pass such worthless resolutions some of the time? For example, restricting SURVEYING does nothing because all the anamolies (even at max) are taken up before the first year... I really think the council should have about 30 more different scripts. Mostly they need to benefit goo
He posted in another thread how he achieved his 1 million score. Pretty shadey stuff and "milking" of points to exploit the scoring system. I think it's under the metaverse forum, metaverse scoring thread. One of the later 20-ish posts. heres a link Link
Winners in my book: Morale (you can set your tax rates higher) Diplomacy Economics Solidering Even with a maxed out econ bonus, I still find myself going in the hole at 100% industrial capacity, so production bonuses are worthless to me. Overall, I think the most important is Morale. Just a tip when you're picking your abilities: identify where points becoming diminishing. IE: 1 point may give you 10%, but
I see this sometimes in my games as well. Nothing big. Usually goes away after I leave the ship designer or add a component.
One of the main problems I've noticed with the AI's military strategy in late games is that they hoard out mass amount of small and medium ships, when I am only pumping out massive sized ships. They have the tech for massive ships, but they don't build them. I think once the AI starts building engines on their ships (next patch) they will be more effective militarywise. I say this because the only reason I can wipe out the AI's army most
Heh, I was wondering how you were getting those insane scores Zevus. Well, I will certainly never "milk" any scores. I will play the AI on the hardest setting from here on out (just won my first suicidial), and be happy with my scores. I doubt I'll ever break 200k, but that's ok. Slaughtering the AI in the shortest time possible is my goal:) Anyway, yes, scoring certainly needs to be totally readjusted. I also think it'd be cool to have more postgame stats on the m
It's not that the bonus is overpowered, it's that the computer isn't smart enough to know how to counter it. Proof this is a problem: Link 898 to 25. Could have been much worse if the comp wasn't chain surrendering to me.
Hrm, if you read the IGN descriptions there are some hints at these "under the hood" bonuses. IE for the Torians: The Torians are largely an aquatic race. Toria is mostly covered in water and they prefer worlds that have more water on them than not. Their ships tend to carry a great deal of water on board which has had its share of benefits -- they always have water to trade with other space faring civilizations who are far from home. The Torians, as a result, tend
So noone else has noticed that there are other benefits/disadvantages to using certain races? IE: Thalan's pop growth + class 15 home world? Im surprised noone commented on that when I said that:) I was amazed when I found it out.
I initially started out playing Yor, but I've switched to Thalan (with new colors of course:). The reason why: huge pop growth and starting planet has a rating of 15 instead of 10. Having a very large starting planet and quick population growth supplement my play style very nicely. They also have +10% miniturization along with any other bonuses I've missed. While it's not as great as the Yor's 25%, its second best.
Here's a follow up image that describe what I'm talking about. Mormegil was a Torian colony I attacked and conquered. My civilization for the most part is on the other size of a gigantic sized galaxy, and I have 3 pure attack ships (read:they'd die if attacked) guarding the planet I just conquered. There's no way I could send any support for atleast 10 turns. The problem is, the Torians have several massive fleets just randomly stacked all over. They will not use these and I can run transp
I use the same economy starbase strategy as mentioned earlier. I've found that three maxed out econ starbases near my capitals creates "omg" level of production. For instance, in the game I'm playing now, my capital has 832 military production, 332 social, and 586 research. Sure, my economy is drained with such high production, but with the freighter upgrades on my econ starbases, the problem isn't so big:) Besides, you need that kind of productio
