Nothing suprises me with minimap anymore. Its been broken from the beginning. 1.2 did some love for it, but its far from solid still.

Can anybody confirm is the goverment text right or wrong. Is better goverment suppose to give you economy and industrial bonuses. It says so in Goverment screen, but to my understanding it only gives economy bonus. It was stated that this would be fixed around 1.0X times. I dont even remember how many months ago that was.

Yes I would like this too. Where the mini map would actually be in actual colony screen I leave for the design people. I would also suggest some major overhaul on mini map behaviour in GC2 as whole. Example in trade screen you can select "show all trade routes, show my trade routes". So after I click a trade route , would you not like to see what trade route it is actually on the minimap? I suggested earlier to add perhaps a glow on the specific trade route in question or something.

Yes it sounds logic indeed, but to code this is a whole different story I think. SD has gone with its way and I don´t think we are going to see major changes in this area.

- Deeper diplomacy / politics (alrdy promised in DA thank god) - Better land battle graphics - Formations in combat viewer, no more bumping car ride Can´t think of anything else right now. AI is getting better all the time, Iam really satisfied with GC2 at the moment. So no big wishes, SD can suprise me <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="ab

The darnest thing with 1.2 is currently the AI not following Rally Points bug. But I got some reassurance from a SD staff member that this is currently under investigation. Bring on the better AI with 1.3 Iam sure we can live with it until Dark Avatar

The vocal minority is always a problem with forums. But with effective moderating it has been beaten in all forums I currently visit. Sure GC2 forums have their technical hiccups but I find this place very enjoyable none the less. Atleast here if I report a bug or write about the game, I get a feeling that there is a chance some of the SD team notices it.

Indeed. I find this really weird since in my very first 1.2 game the AI built its planets really well. There were factories etc, all in all very balanced building. After that it seems 1.2 has somekinda time bomb built in it and AI becomes total moron with planet building

Hello Found my first hard crash with 1.2. I had accidentally put a "fleet" rallypoint on a starbase. So there was couple constructors and a starbase on same fleet. When I pressed the little X next to the constructors name line to brake the fleet I got CTD. Here is the debug.err: Debug Message: Version v1.2 last updated on: Mon Jun 12 18:04:26 2006 Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 6/28/2006, 23:05:36 DirectX Versi

@1 This is the same game as in thread "AI stupid in 1.2, bug found in galaxy creation". The debug.err in that thread indeed shows that all AI are set on Intelligent level. Now that I later on checked the debug.err it does not mention what level it sets the AI. No matter, I checked the screen you told just to be sure and all AI indeed are set on Intelligent. So maybe it is like Ion said? Edit: My game is currently at 22 oct 2230

Hello Iam quite sure this has been reported alrdy but could not find the thread anymore. So here is goes again. All AI are set to Intelligence level and this is what I founded after invading Thalan homeworld. I used standard attack so nothing was destroyed. 3

@marcathonas I messed around with galaxy creation screen and was able to reproduce this bug. Its quite random but sometimes the AI inteligence just wont follow the Difficulty slider. The debug.err seems right because after I took the picture, I manually selected Intelligence for all the races.

There is a option called Advanced AI routines in 1.2 galaxy creation phase. If you choose it AI should spend more time analysizing your tactics or something like that. In short, it should make AI bit more smarter

@2 Hmm not really sure about this, since in the game Iconians appeared and while in galaxy creation they were at sub-normal inteligence even if I changed difficulty level. I did however choose Intelligence for Iconians (and other races that did not change their inteligence) manually and that can be seen in Debug.err. Well I have no idea how this system works really all I can hope is that SD can find the bug that makes AI really dumb (aka not expanding) in some games. All I know is tha

Hello There has been bit discussion why AI seems really stupid sometimes and not expanding at all. Well I just found a major reason for this. Let the picture speak for itself. I switched many times difficulty level back and forth and all the races reacted to this execpt Thalan, Drath and Iconians. They always stayed at subnormal level. I had to manually select intelligence levels for these races since the diffi

Yep exactly the same thing happening here in multiple games. I did a fresh install and updated it to 1.2 . Still happening

The expansion pack sounds promising. I very much like the new planet feature and hopefully it eliminates the initial colony rush. I really hope they tweak combat viewer and planet invasion graphics too. As for the cost, I think Dark Avatar has a very reasonable price.
