I also consider these thing not bugs but annoying. It is only natural that there will be glitches when you do whole new features into the game, so the civ manager is ok. But can´t say the same about the mini map, it has been quite bad from the beginning. One thing I would like to add into this list, is planet invasion and cultural borders. I have noticed that the cultural border updates right after your begin the battle. Sometimes this kinda tells you how the battle will end, even i

Reading it now! More complex space battles sure are welcome Maybe formations? Some new eye candy for land battles would be welcome too. New espionage sounds solid too. Not too big fan of campaing but getting to play as Drengi sure sounds neat Almost forgot, those asteroid platforms look terrific!!
@PJ You have a point there. But I don´t see the huge difficulty here. Instead of having computer check all the time if ships are on collision course, the ships would have pre selected starting point and would move towards enemy untill they are too close and stop. By this time the battle would be over. All you would have to change is the ship starting points and the shooting part is doned alrdy in the game so no coding there. But you are right that these are not so important issues as some ot
Iam no expert coder or anything, but changing fleets to move as formations can´t be huge change. Maybe too big for a patch but for expansion?
I wrote my opinion earlier but still like to bump this thread. I think it would be alot of work, but making combat viewer fleets actually use formations and moving slowly towards each other would make the combat viewer 10x cooler. I get this big feeling of controlling a wast empire untill I get into combat viewer where the dummy cars crash each other
what I cannot understand is why those faulty gorverment bonus texts have not been corrected.
Thanks for the info BoogieBac! It´s not a total game killer, but hopefully you guys can fix it. After this one is fixed the game is going to run very smoothly. Only micromanagement there will be left are the star bases. Keep it up SD
Quick reply box below thread works with Firefox 1.5.X but not if I create a new post entirely. I have make new posts with IE It gives a small red error text something like this "error posting the message, try again later".
Did a fresh install of GC2 but still these bugs exist. - When selecting a rally point for planet sometimes the builded ships don´t go to the rally point location. They launch off the orbit but the rally point is not selected for the ship. This happens in later of the game. Early on the rally points work fine. - When movig a rally point, ships heading towards the old location don´t update their rally point and stop moving. Also happens later in the game.
I think i´ll turn this option off too. Atleast I hope it will be bit more balanced in 1.3
I have been experiencing strange AI behaviour when I select the "Randomize AI inteligence" in game setup menu. In example my previous game I had large galaxy with 5 random opponents. Difficulty set to Tough and Randomize AI inteligence option was ON. All is well but when the game goes on I start to notice strange thing. 4 out of my 5 opponents have only 2 planets and the last one had 15 planets or so. So ok I like little random in my game but with this setting turning 4 o
All I want for current battles is formations. I think it eats half the atmosphere to watch your giant ships do bumbing cars in the screen. Nice big formations with each side pounding the other into pieces, now that would be neat. It works in Babylon 5 and other scifi series, why not in GC2
Sweeeeettt!!!
Well yes.. I thought the politics option meant more complex UP so I voted it. I think its safe to assume that people want more UP and complex diplomacy the most.
Core ships get obsolated in my games immidiately and thats why I really hope there would be a option to turn them off completely. Especially because in current beta when you obsolate core ships the choosing jumps to User side after every obsolation. Leading to very nice suprise in one game where I obsolated my very nicely designed own ship I agree with OP on the technology thingy. Why not sim
I think above posters ideas go bit hand in hand with the current poll. People want more options in diplomacy and UP (politics as I understanded?). With that I would like to see race specific goverment types and why not political parties also. Would generate more atmosphere for the game. Somehow Demoratic Drengi does not fit the bill Quite a change, hopefully something SD is willing to consider in Expansi
1. Bug: If I move a rally point in the middle of my turn, ships moving to that point do not move, and the "turn/skip" button is missing. This means I must right click on the rally point as the focus moves to each ship. Like Mike said I have had this bug quite many times too and especially in later part of the game. Early on moving rally points the ships follow happily to their new destination. Later in the game they basicly stop moving so you have to select manually the rally point fo
@mike693 6. Suggestion: Provide some way to quickly pick colony rally points. If after sorting the colony management screen by ship type, I could go thru the list and pick rally points, that would be ideal -- a "quick pick pop up" similar to what is available for ships or improvements. This would allow for quick and easy rallying of troops behind the front line, or managing multiple fronts. Currently, changing RPs on a group of planets takes a lot of clicks. You can do this
A bumpy for a good suggestion.
So I was gaming yesterday day and thought a improvement. Why not make right click open ship information screen when clicked on ship icon. I right clicked the ship icons in main UI lower right planet screen and when selecting ships. So far right click does not do anything. Maybe right clicking on single ship would open ship infromation screen and when right clicking stacks it would open fleet manager?
It seems that Iam always nit picking about little things about the game and not giving love at all. Well I do really like this game and every Patch makes it feel like a new experience. Great Work SD! I think there are several reasons for people moaning about the game. 1. It is so good and they want it to become perfect. 2. SD as developer really listens to its fans and implements their suggestions. So people aknowledge this and moan some more of these improvemen
One vote for racial bonuses locked! Been talking about since day one of GC2 retail release. Gotta add bit more specifically. I would like to see the special racial bonuses locked. Example (if I remember correctly) Humans have +20 diplomacy bonus, I would like this to be locked. You can customize the civilization enought with abilities points or create a custom race entirely.
That seems like a nice idea too, but I kinda recent the governors. Don´t know why, but in this case I find OP suggestion better. Personal opinion only Anything that eases up the SB upgrading would be welcome.
Indeed SD did add the number how many components there are and how many can be installed. Example 2/6 . While this was nice it practicly did nothing for me. I would like to know what components can be added without moving a constructor to the SB. Even this would be little futile, I think the best way would indeed be the tick boxes. What would be better would be a chance to move the tick boxes and change their order. You would have example like this: Assist X Sen
I think this game has fairly little micromanagement, but the constructors are definetly the biggest micromanagement creators. Hopefully SD has some new tricks coming in 1.3. I like your suggestions. Upgrade closest SB would be nice for planets and tick boxes for SB would be welcome too. Nice ideas in my mind. I think that because of constructor (how they are now) I only play middle sized games. I have no patience to guide my constructors in a bigger game.
