The tensing is clearly referring to SDC The Beta will be on Stardock Central. so you'll need to grab that if you haven't already from the Downloads section". <

Nope. It's about preservation of people sometimes, things like being out of the way and the Torian race living on come into it. Spite aswell. But it's a clever AI, of course it won't surrender to the strongest, that would be stupid and cause more warfare. It usually surrenders to a close/ally relationship, someone it will trust
its nothing to do with PQ, they start to get insane production values. I saw the Yor get it, and since I was surrounded by the Drengin who I was at war with, I had to fight my way through. The Yor went from 8th to 1st, and I had to sacrifice a lot of valuable planets (incluing a 27 which I lost through not having enough defences, seeing how I moved my fleet ), and the only reason I beat them is because
Penalties are added same way as bonuses, just go to raceconfig.xml , and where you want the negative just insert it as -x% (x being the number of course)
Personally, I go for neutral for the tile instant upgrade (really useful) and the trade routes (ditto). But I've got events tweaked so you become evil very quickly, I wouldt make it so good takes a bit longer to regain but morality weight is a fixed value both ways. This means the choices made actually mean something: I can no longer take big payoffs while angelic and expect to go no lower than neutral. It makes you put more effort into what alignment
It doesn't matter what design really, I've had Yor custom ships used by humans. They begin to look weird. But you need miniturisation etc, don't forget that
yes. Reduces the price only, not space taken.
I've spent a large amount of time reading all these threads, and I agree with the group saying that the Yor are FINE as they are. So what if they have better minuturisation? this is the fun of the game. Every race has different abilities, different AI. Thats the good bit, learning to deal, and evolivng strategies to cope. I'm playing a gigantic galaxy with rare planets (habitable and regular) right now, and I have only 2 planets. The Yor's miniturisati
Unless you change the games resolution, all windowed does is slightly lower the graphics and allow the you alttab out of the game and back in with little or no loading time.
Watch carefully. They're little white dots, and only show when the planet has a decent pop and you're zoomed in to the max. If you angle yourself so you're directly behind the sun and the planet, you can see little white dots start to appear on the night side.
I used to cheat while I was getting used to the game, it felt so shallow, and the victories got dull. Super Project? no problem! buy the damn thing. It made the game boring, and it wasn't fun until I removed the shortcut. Besides, once you've got to grips with the game you don't need to cheat, you make money, ships, and research the normal way.
I certainly want to use it on linux, I only keep windows for games aswell (figured out some of my games using terminals, some non supported), and Linux doesn't hog gobsmacking amounts of memory to run, unlike windows
yeah, for a game like this 512 is lacking, because xp is such a memory whore, does anyone with a different OS and 512 memory finding it lagging?
Battle of the god's scenario gives you all the tech instantly
I dunno. Currently, I've made a bad(ish) start to my game, with only 2 planets in midgame. It's a pain, because I was surrounded by systems with no usable planets (Rare habitable is more fun IMO)
they have about 40+ attack. They do until I get hold of disruptors. Besides, it's a nice change to go from about 36 beam attack to 44 missile attack, AI never knows what hits them
So many times I've seen every capital on the same planet (especially Toria, always ends up their), and while this is all wonderful and patriotic of the nice aliens, it means there is no room to actually build anything USEFUL So my capitals, which I save, are wasted on a frigging useless planet. I would say we should be able to decommision capitals, but on second thought that would remove some of the strategic element of the game. But could it be c
Yeah, Unless you WANT expensive deathtraps, don't. Even weapon countermeasures don't work, I've had ships with shields twice the enemies lasers get hit (extremely rarely, but it only needs to happen once) Think of your enemies saying what the IRA said after trying to kill thatcher. "We only have to be lucky once, yet you have to be lucky every time"
Gigantic map, rare everything, slowest tech. No diplomatic victory. It takes absolutely ages to complete, but it's damn fun. Plus, it's the best way to evolve your strategies from your starting position (If you get say 3 habitable star systems, which is lucky, you go for influence. High production planets military, and so forth) Currently I have 2 planets, my home world and 1 other (I forgot about my second planet in the system, bloody altarians have i
Candelaurius, you can hardly blame them. First, some troller makes a post whingeing about how awful and buggy the game is, without listing a single problem. If you want help, post debug.err files, or even give us a hint of what's wrong before you start shooting your mouth off about wanting your money back. I haven't seen a single major bug yet, and about reworking your comp? if you dont wan't to have to install new drivers (if that's what you're talking about) stop using it games for christs sak
raceconfig.xml is best edited in notepad, by rewriting the values to whatever you want. I love making the humans start out as evil every game, because the dialogue is more fun
What sprt of Starbase? I know it sounds odd, but military resources have no projection. Just random built military have projection.
Can you imagine what mu;tiplayer would be for this? waiting 45 minutes for your opponent to design and ship, nd move their stuff about? Huge galaxies already take about 5 days to conquer. And as people have said, the learning curve isn't friendly. . Forgboy himself said this. I used to get trashed on beginner, and now intelligent is a guaranteed win. And remember, factories=good
I was thinking that. And are they ion mk3? Better value for money to build medium ships with phasors, and more damaging. AND they look cooler with phasors IMO
Personally, I make my home planet an economic center (1 farm, 1 entertainment, 1or 2 factory, rest economy) unless there is a 700% bonus tile. Since I use magical PQ enhancer as an ability, I get a strong economy quickly, and can keep taxes low while prodcution is at 100%. A couple of these planets (one 10+ pure economy every 5 other planets) keeps you rolling in cash <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Cool.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absm
