I, as I said, would never be interested in internet MP too much, since it's just too quick for my taste How do you know? You've never played GC2 MP. And all MP games are different, I personally see a GC2 game lasting up to 2 days in MP, if it ever gets made.

Listen weely, people at the age of fourteen only know about 1000 words Utter, utter garbage. Was there any point whatsoever in you posting, except maybe to antogonise wheel and whine to kryo? They should make a rule on hypocrisy here.
GalCiv2 is NOT chess. That's probably the most apt thing I've ever read on this forum, bravo.
OT issue first: If you steal a loaf of bread you will go to jail for what ??? A short sentence. You rob a bank and you go to jail for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time. So who is dumb or dumber ????? Stop taking it literally. Cheese is cheese, crimes are crimes. As such, consider commiting the two crimes under draconion rule. Either way, if you're
Yes, make your own ships. You can't touch core designs, but you can upgrade designs you make. And don't use the core ships, ever. The only ones of any value are the trade ship (which doesn't need upgrading), the constructor (although I never use core, too slow) and the defender for having at least basic defence on every planet.
Nope. Bonuses only increase what's being produced. Capitals produce nothing, but act as planet-wide bonus squares themselves.
Admit it, it's nice to have a thread you can just be silly in. I said "need", as in "no more irritating forum spam of 8 threads on the same topic". I didn't say I wasn't going to argue the points
Kryo locked it, Brad evidently deleted Kryo's post and reopened it.
it is possible for devs to make incorrect design decisions True, but I feel safe in saying that "no carriers" certainly wasn't one of them.
It's a good review, although personally I think you could have added a few screenshots of the ship builder in action, because reading about what it can do and seeing a picture of it really are two different things. I agree with you on the diplomacy side of things. No other 4x (or any form of strategy game I can think of) has allowed me to maintain a small fleet and yet still completely dominate the galaxy, purely by economic and technological superiority. Civ just doesn't cut it as far
ES: To give the fanatics somewhere to go so that the sane people can safely ignore them. And with that, WOO! no more carriers/bombardment do I need to read, ever!
Bah at my confusing metaphors. So may as well be hung for a sheep as a lamb?
Tactics = tactical combat. Whether you're controlling the individual ships in battle or not, it's tactical combat. And that's never happening in GC2, like azrune said.
No... if you had the ability, skills, and lack of morals to succesfully rob a bank, why would you steal a loaf of bread? Again, it's a metaphor. Basically, if you have the ability to do something amazing, why would you bother doing something tiny and insignificant?
A little OT, but this saying implies that a Ken Lay is OK. But the guy who steals a loaf of bread to feed his family is the worst of the two ??? No it doesn't, it's a metaphor that shouldn't be taken seriously. Basically, it's saying someone who could rob a bank with no problems probably wouldn't bother with stealing a loaf of bread.
Deciding where your starting alignment will lean? Already doable. Having the ability to dictate the number and quality of planets in your home system (limited by some sort of a points system of course) </T
Just because a country famous for "ganking noobs" does it, doesn't make it not cheese. But heh, I do that myself. "OMG LASERS! PEW PEW PEW! YOU WANT THESE!" While having top of the line beam defenses. Their new fleet comes out, armed to the brim with Pew Pew (TM) goodness. My new battleship comes out with missiles and laser defences, and destroys their fleets instantly. That's what you get for being hostile in my region, yarr.
Not entirely sure, but I think the card needs to be 256meg.
Which is the one good thing about the fact that the gc2 tech tree is generic, you remember one tech name per tech forever Never had this as an issue myself, although I have a good memory for detail + the fold-out techtree somewhere on my wall. Would be pretty useful to have though, and would work well if it allowed you to select an option then have the relevant part of the tech tree shown up.<br
No time? You find the file and change a number, takes 30 seconds. c/program files/stardock/totalgaming/galciv2/data/english/raceconfig.xml Change luck factor of race to 95, done. And I've had a 200 all stat race. I didn't notice luck much when I tried it, I was busy steamrolling everything in my path.
Upload it to www.imageshack.us and then use the direct link they give you to put it on the site.
No tacc combat, yarr. Not until gc3 anyway.
Probably when it's identified, I don't have this problem. Post a debug.err here, it's a more useful place to put it. It'll also show what card you're using. There are some new Nvidia drivers that "Do not like" galciv2.
Yes. Just change the 10 to 6 in the relevant xml file. Done.
Maybe a MMO for Galciv It's called EVE
