OP: ONLY SDC has the beta's, and ONLY when you have show pre-release versions ticked. SDC also has the live chat, although if you have an IRC client the address is irc.stardock.com #galciv. The expansion will be out sometime in autumn, if memory serves. As for crashes, have you posted any debug.err files? Azrune: You're posting (with the occasional random spam thrown in) on a site about a turn based space game, where you deal with alien races. You have long lost all right to call anyone

Might as well post here, if needed we can poke Kryo to change it. Kryo is all powerful. HAIL KRYO. Erm. Yes, post it here.

God, I hope you're joking about the tax rate of today. Seriously, background research of taxes = good for this sort of thing. In the UK, everything has VAT. That's 17.5% before you get started.

Well, consider 2 things: 1. Terror stars are mentioned in the UPissues.xml file. (unless 1.3 removed, haven't checked that file for a while) 2. The Korath are genocidal maniacs, wanting to kill the entire galaxy. How do you suppose they're going to do that? Food for thought

No, they WILL attack if you don't move. You spend a few turns positioning, and see what happens to you. They do this for no real reason sometimes, but I think it needs to be more aggresive there. If a ship is 2 spaces from a planet, it should ask you for an explanation, and then you retreat. If not, automatic war declaration. I quite like option 2 aswell.

Mind control center is described as making planets revolt instantly. The problem is that that isn't a variable, so the game automatically chooses the first variable it can find, namely economy. The rest of the stuff (small fixes) are very low priority, and if you popped down to the IRC on monday(irc.stardock.com #galciv) with a list of the problems, and a file with the fixes, then they could probably be incorporated. Until then, they probably won't be fixed until every other bug is out

On 1.2 it really shouldn't be overheating, the very first patch put a fix into that by throttling frame rate. Could you post a debug.err file, so it's possible to see what's causing the crash?

Err, was it a used copy? I don't see how Amazon sold it that cheap, it normally retails at $39.99 So considering the large amount of new stuff, I wouldn't agree, $25 is quite reasonable considering how much new stuff is being added.

I've hardly ever seen a 16+ planet with manufacturing bonuses. I've had a 26 with the 700% manufacturing bonus That game was over quite quick.

From what I understand, the caps are mostly for perfomance reasons. Over 100bil pop a planet can REALLY screw up a computer (not sure how, but apparently it does), the sensor cap causes horrible lag, the morale cap makes it so it's not impossible to get 100bil pop, but still difficult to do. And so forth.

Driver Date: 12/13/2002 18:41:26 YEESH! You're going to need new drivers, but probably a new card (when was the last s3 driver?) 2005 minimum to run now, if you can't get a new driver, you wont be able to play the game. Also, if you can play it, I'd reccomend downgrading to 1.2, 1.3 isn't finished yet, and needs some bugs to be

but my big ship had several doom rays and much more defenses than any other ship, The doom rays outranked it. Plasma gives it an attack power of 2, which means you would need to almost equal your attack and defence for anything else to be considered.

Well, it's not. Sorry, but it's a total waste of time. The AI DO need to use life support, unless they're above tough, in which case the bonuses may cover it. There is nothing new this would add, for a lot of work, thus bad idea. Ok?

Firstly: Don't ask for Yor nerfs. Been there, done that, it's not MP so Stardock aren't particularily interested in race genericism... err... balance. If you want them weaker, then mod the raceconfig.xml file, and remove their miniturisation bonus (without it, they're nothing special). Secondly: Bug, I'm sure. Can you get a debug.err file? Thirdly: 81% ALWAYS drops taxes to 1%, by design.

As it says, it's not people born every week. It's people paying taxes. Legal immigration ftw! Azrune: Cloning? eh? droids? where? Still manual labour. Besides, where would they build more than one? They could, there's just no space.

In some places it says only one race is getting destroyed No it doesn't, I've seen that once and the user was incorrect. 2 have been confirmed to go by Frogboy. it may even be the Drengin, <

There is NO invasive software. As opposed to games that require you to have the game in the drive, or games which install software which destroys your computer. What's the problem? The first poster hit it spot on. You'll get no sympathy here, your complaint is groundless.

Alternately, break your alliance with the altarians, give them all your tech, then attack them By the end of that first mish, I had ships that (later in the campaign) took down the DL Dreadnoughts after being outnumbered 2-1
