Peace Phoenix is right. Had he managed to do this with the exploit mentioned here, (the "Multiple reload=multiple bonuses" cheese) then everyone can say "That's a cheat", and that would be fair. As is, he exploited a legitimate loophole in the AI, and IMO needs congratulations for being able to sit it out that long. I think the problem is no-one was expected to have that much patience. If he didn't have the patience, and used a macro to auto-turn, yes

Metaverse games know when your points are above, and flag it as cheating. One of my game WASN'T cheating, yet under the beta 3 (and the revaluation of customisation points) it was. So my first metaverse victory was wiped. However, that means that if you cheese it like that (I've seen it too, but find it wipes some but not all of my points while reloading) then the metaverse will just wipe it.
Well, with 1.1 score milking won't work, you won't be gaining enough points to make up for the new score divider.
Sensor bonus is in parsec range.
Interesting. There must be a bug that allows you to start building multiple starports, and forgets to cancel the remaining ones when the first is finished. Could you test it yourself to see if this is the case, and then repost?
Not sure, never played below tough. Make sure the games you submitted for challenging are valid, and click "default" to update the characters medals.
Ah, vista. The problem is that if you have any form of DRM on vista, which I think has been mentioned once or twice (I may be wrong), the new ruling which is basically the RIAA telling people if it comes down to you dying or DRM being broken then they are sorry for the loss, you will be unable to re-format the hard drive. I am not putting up with that, advantages and ease of use aside, I re-format my comp a fair bit. (I'm just learning how to mod the s
That's not a bug it's an exploit. The game is behaving as it should (Recalling the information of the correct ship name, and adding all the weapons it thinks should be there), while viewing the current price. If you crash the game don't complain, I can only imagine the feats of logic your machine is pulling off to do that. Is it so hard to come up with a different name each time?
It's a good deal to buy off totalgaming.net, although you pay more the game works out to cost less, as you can get two games of that price for $20 more. Download works fine. The minority are always more vocal, on release day it went smoothly. It's mostly people who aren't as good with their computers (3 year old drivers etc) who get problems AFAIK
Attack and defence. But until it's upgraded you won't notice it.
A thing to learn: Live update, auto update, search for update etc are completely and utterly USELESS. You have to actually find the drivers yourself. 2004 are pretty ancient, did you not get a popup warning you? Anyway, here's the drivers I use for my x9000. If they don't work, follow the link in phoenix's post for the omega drivers. https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=293
Oh, I hope they'll be made optional Considering the amount of people complaining about the lack of options for things like "Stop auto movement with fleets" and other useless things, can you imagine what would happen if terror stars had to be on? *goes straight for xml files, burns all reference t
Dear god how I loathe myself for bringing this news. It was confirmed in another thread: Yes, terror stars are in the UP.xml files for a reason. They WILL return in the expansion. Bloody great. Now, they're are going to be screams of "zomg cheats!!! nuked teh planet!". There are enough complaints about colonising from people who can't play the damn game, and you gave the AI which is thrashing them terror stars. I respect there was a lot of demand, but please make sure it ha
Yeah, and the AI go for pq improvers, the best thing to do. Why? more space to quick buy something. PQ improvements are a better thing to use, and their quick to do.
The game version comes up every time you start, it shows by the bottom. If you don't know, you probably haven't updated therefore 1.0
I'm not sure of the narrator, but I know the tutorials are done by Kristen Hatcher, who does the poweruser.tv podcast. It might be her doing the intro.
Screw them. Become evil for the tariff bonuses, and leave the UP. Then use your decent weapons to wipe everyone out.
If you ever have any worries, just no.
NOOOOOOOOO! Ah crap. Now I'll have to stop people from building them, because I have too many morals. Plus take back every comment I've ever made about nuking planets
I've tried to add some resolutions, but they don't work well. Love to propose some, so I can see mine come up more often, more testing.
Something that does need a fix. I don't touch those ship designs, so I woudln't know, but here's a bump to get the dev's notice.
Right. This forum isn't buggy, it just needs a bump. STOP MULTI POSTING. Earth is a 10. Not 11. The game isnt buggy. If you dislike it so much, stop playing it.
NO PLANETARY BOMBARDMENT. Gaaargh! It has been discussed many, many, many times. And they aren't here anymore (terror stars that is). There will be no planet nuking except for invasions. You want to bomb the enemy, use planetary bombardment. And no carrier ships, no 4th weapon type. Argh, horrible gameplay. If it came along I'm sure many people would
Lazyness But I mentioned in another thread how it would be good to implement the ability to negotiate tech research, and coordinate yourselves. Doubt it would work, since it would ruin the AI's intelligent research pattern. Remember, no matter how good it is, you're dealing with code, which is complicated writing. It can evaluate and calculate, but n
Well, collectors looks cooler. But that's it, no gameplay difference.
