Meh. That would surmount to a war declaration, and you need planets. You'd be kicked to pieces as free-roaming pirates such as the ones in game. Besides, after the exploitable early stage it's useless. who needs piddly basic 11bc when you make up to 2000 bc per turn?
Marcathonas
Yeah, sound drivers are ancient, but keep track of what it's doing with ctrl-shift-esc, and make sure it isn't leaking memory.
No. Actually, yes. If you mod it all yourself.
You know with precursor ships, and by end game they're rubbish. ooh look, a bunch of 2 attack ships, they would be gone from ONE of my cruisers by the time I'd got anywhere. The Rangers only last so long as well, they haven't got much state of the art stuff.
Update the game, you might not have got the multimedia files. You certainly don't have the new version.
I HATE core ships. They're weak, slow, and are never what I need for a given situation. The only exception is the combat transport, which I'm starting to dislike because it's too weak by the time huge hulls are researched. Custom ships are designed for the situation, look better (even for people with no talent with them, like me), and add some pride to the game. "I just flattened your army, with my own ships. Now that's ownage"
Yup. And if you change them, say goodbye to race bonuses. This really needs fixing.
It's not as difficult as the normal game. Muck about on "Dread Lords on parade" scenario until you get the strategy for beating the DL. In fact, that scenario is harder, as you must kill them Soldiering all the way!
totalgaming has been out for about 3 years, when it was known as drengin.net They had some inital problems with indie gamers being greedy about up-front fees, I remember reading that. So yeah, that might outdate CS
All has to be 32 bit, I remember that. Plus, use 1.0x, it runs much smoother.
The fact is, the code means you can only build four per sector, and that's it (same as the AI has to do). So, by building more than four, you're causing the code to corrupt. Think of it trying to show the starbase, it's image, it's stats, etc, all the while the game is saying "No, no, no, no, shouldn't be there, killing starbase..", while the code confirms it's there. Think of yourself, believing you can walk through a wall. Your
Square root would really bring down the scores. It'll be squared before, which brings down extremely high scores from people exploiting the current system *cough* 5 MILLION *cough*
And it's version 1.0. You might be better downloading the english version of the game and then downloading up to 1.0x, which runs better. I'm not sure what happened to the German 1.0x
Here's to clear up. Beta doesn't really "Fix" things in this matter, just makes it easier. I've won a military victory before now (on a medium map) without ever building a transport, I influenced every planet. The Yor and Thalans are very hard to flip due to loyalty. And sectors of influence are (roughly) the amount of influnce of an empire spread out between planets, so building an influence base to cover a system of about four influence planets makes
That can't be anything to do with the sliders, since the % is literally a percantage of your money goes here, a percent goes there etc. It's not till late game that changing the sliders really affects your income. Unless you mean the overall slider (below tax), which should be at 100% pretty much all the time. If you ever have a deficit, improve your economic strategy. IE, change a few planets over to farms/ stock markets. I'm unhappy making anything l
Galactic Tyrant was the original idea, back when Brad was in college. I think the idea was discontinued with the success of galactic civilisations. They're focusing on the expansions for galciv2, society, and eventually galciv3. However, I think bringing back galactic tyrant based on starflight would be a great idea.
Yeah, the fact he screwed you over entitles you to report him. The fact he's bribing you to keep quiet is something else. Make sure you get the money back, then report him. And in future, buy off totalgaming.net, with the token system it works out to something like £18. I think play.com do it for £15 as well.
It's the level of bonus they get. It's in the manual. The AI gets something like 150% bonus at economy for suicidal, but at obscene everything get's multiplies (Brad said that "With a 200% multiplier, perhaps they have no real fog of war?", which means that everything gets multiplied at different levels It's only multipliers, no omniscience which everyone keeps crying about (Because they can't play the game <img src="http://images.stardock
Yup, in the beta everything is used. All unused social is transferred into military, all unused military is transsferred into the economy, and all research is used regardless. So you can have some planets that don't require funding.
Since it won't let me edit that, I need to post that I was wrong, since it can be done. Just haven't tried it in ages
Neutral is still the best without that. New trade routes, more diplomacy, and of course instant upgraded tiles. If it wan't for the fact that now the Torains are much better in 1.1, and I need them as friends, I would be neutral all the time.
It's easier than DL on parade, where they get free reign. The trick to beating them is to have every soldiering tech, and suddenly they lose the power to invade and thus expand. One time I even manage (through the use of death trains) to wipe out the DL on siege, and knock them back to their one planet. Most of the time the Drengin are a bigger threat, as they can mass produce fighters. But, the real problem is where the DL manage to build up the infra
It would be alright if you didn't have eyes of the universe. That is a pain on gigantic maps, when everything has sensor range +10 and every ship in game is on mini map. But no, can't be done.
Gigantic, nine races, rare everything, tight clusters, very slow tech, playing as either a custom race with diplomacy and research bonuses, or the Drath By the time I've met anyone (Which can be a long time or 20 turns depending on the start) I'm ahead in tech a long way. Once espionage is maxed out on all races (sometime around year 3 or 4), it's a wonderful game to play puppetmaster. I've armed minors with amazing ships capable of crossing
Yeah, thats the option. Turn it off, no more so and so built such and such
