Instead of having a fighter with 1 Attack & 10 Hit Points, we will have fighter with 10 Attack & 100 Hit Points. The effect on game balance is the same Not quite true. The attack value is a roll between your maximum value- defense (effective) - square root defense (weak)- square root defense (weak)<br

As kalin said. Evil get a max of 1 trade limit in most games, no help from other races ever, and the fundamentalist event, where they lose most of their planets. Good/neutral get none of these. I start good, work my way down to evil, and xeno ethics back. By that time I'm so rich from my evil event bonuses I can afford it
I'm sorry, but you're mildly ignorant of a few things to say the least. Posting your serial number is plain stupid, asking for one is violating the terms of purchase, and abusing stardock is asking to be flamed. All you had to do was make a nice, controlled post, and it would be fixed. Like it has been done. Stardock have the patience of gods.
t'd be much more useful if there were cloaked units that could only be detected by certain types of sensor Original galciv had this. It sucked. so no. Just make ships with 20 moves, same basic thing but much better. Terror stars are mentioned in the code, and the UP resolutions, but aren't
Farms don't five you tax revenue early on, only useful when you have reached the 5 billion (10 on homeworld) maximum. Rush buying factories means you don't have to buy colony ships as much, and sets you up early, followed by two +12 economy planets (market centres and farms) to support my empire for a bit, then research or military planets depending on bonus tiles
You can share stabase bonuses between allies. It's a UP resolution, and quite good, those crappy ally ships I have to put up with get souped up a bit. Same as arming transports, they get auto armed. Designing them gives them attacks. However, his point was why these don't appear in the campaign. As I said, If the root of all evil appeared on Earth, would we sit around with beurocracy, debating over strategies, or do something? Wait, I'm in Englan
Erm, How is it hard to do custom races? There is no tech trading option, but no thief would make the top levels of espionage not really worth it. I don't think it will happen.
Capitals= bad on bonus
Mini soldiers all the way. Tidal Devastation is terrible. Why would I want the infrastructure wiped? quicker to upgrade stuff.
We don't want a BSOD. That's your computer and not the game. The game will CTD, but I don't think it's BSOD.
#1 doesnt mean anything. Those ships can go straight through your area of sight in one turn, they're extremely fast. They probably are getting smashed without you realising. Plus, they could have tried an assault and lost #2 Turn up the difficulty so the AI works. #3 Again, they're at war with them already, and don't do anything if the AI is too low, they aren't smart enough. #4 The custom ship design works because you
Wihout ANY kind of information, you wom't be helped. We need the debug.err from smartexception, or at least some kind of specs from your comp. Saying "it crashes, want my money" does jack all.
You need the exact miniturisation, weapon, engine, and hull techs you had when you built it. Which means if your ship has warp drive 1, you need warp drive 1 reseached etc.
It's the soft option, if you have a big enough army. If you don't, they AI figures out what you're doing, and often works undercover to stop you. I've been asked to do that before, many a time the Arceans have come before me and said "We must supply arms to the enemies of the Torian empire, unless you like your people speaking Torian" To make a challenge, go for a military-culture victory. Win a military victory without using a single transp
In one of my recent games, I found a class 32. But the thalans got it first, and became the major power. Damn bugs.
Diplomacy loses it's edge with no tech trading, and oddly enough so does research. The altarians, for example, have bouses that are good, yet offer nothing financially. You do need the economy bonuses. And as for fronts, no. They just have death-patrols. Looks crappy, but annoyingly effective if you realise you don't *have* a military to speak of, like switzerland. Sure, got the gadgets, got the cash, got happy people, got a standing army, I'm at war w
You sure it's a transport, not a colony?
Drivers! and a debug.err file would be great.
Woodwhipser, it isn't actually activation. The game will play without activiation, and won't end ever. If you update code from the client, and have a SDC account registered, that only requires one code I think.
Starbases are a bit annoying in orbit. "Hey ma, we have two moons!" "That's nice dear" *gets ritalin* But if you have a fully souped up automatic military base with traction control and all the goodies, just chuck 5 crappy fighters next to it. Hey presto, an uber fleet!
That reminds me, another thing. The AI value starbases more than ships: I don't think they can tell if it's a plain old run of the mill expansion aide, or some souped up, 80 attack and defence flying platform of death that turns the most meagre fighter into killing machine.
Which version?
What? Why are you kids playing your video games on your body! When I was a lad, we played video games with our hands! And damn better it was than this "VR" tosh too, we got us some Repetitive Strain Injuries! That's the true spirit of gaming! And look at you all! All this excercise, making you skinny! In my day, we sat about eating crisps, and being sterotyped, and pretending to be insane madmen who'll slaughter your family! You kids nowadays, with your "Ability to actually use your hands in the
No, they don't need to tweak it. You can't say anything needs tweaking until tough, when the AI works properly. Beginner, it's got code written saying "Be stupid". At normal, it has code saying "Be weird". At tough, it has code saying "I laugh at your pathetic fighters. Please die, it saves us the effort" And trust me, it's extremely fun. The other races REALLY put up a show. Especially those beautiful speeches about honour, valour, and saving the
Yeah, there's an under-the-cover AI diplomacy loss, if you try and backstab them. Plus, they charge more for peace. And lastly, I would like to see an ultimatum option, where you can threaten war, or a trade embargo unless someone complies with your demands (give me tech, give me tribute, attack this 3rd party). Yeah, tribute doesn't cut it. I'
