The human flag ship doesnt look exactly like the star wars ship! OMG THIS IS HUGE! Wait a second, I can't find star wars in the title! OMG AGAIN! Bloody hell, do you even realise what you are saying? It's a homage, not a ripoff. Christ. And post a debug.err file, the amount of people either trolling or whingeing in the forum ABOUT A BETA (which will obviously be bugged, hence "beta") WITHOUT AN .ERR FILE is whats making me seem so p***ed off, post the file so we can see what your

THAT is exactly what everyone said about Starforce Show of hands all who find SDC blue screening their computer, using malware to damage the drives, and eventually destroying them? None? Difference between a download tool and basic malware.

Racial PQ number does nothing atm. Well it will increase your max pop but who f-ing cares about that for 8 skill points!? You get 0 additional squares. Test this by chainging it in you abilities file to like 50 and you'll notice only the same number of squares (10 on a pq 15 world). The landing event though where you can either c

100% moral is giving you the money, more moral=more taxpayers. There were reports of a planet being in the mid 70s without cheating. 26 is generally the max, but a bunch of events together, and abilities, and other things. I can imagine it now. 100bill pop, 100% moral, lots of stock exchanges, trade wonders, ah the glory. A planet like that could probably fund my entire war effort.

Exactly! It's the Yor's evil brain control! "You will play one more turn fleshling. Then one more turn. Soon you shall suffer from the weakness of your fleshy kind, and the Yor shall rule you. Maniachal laughter RUN program#15!" I love how in the Yor description they're seeking a deeper meaning in life. "Truth, peace, justice, family values, and the obliteration of all other life forms" Hey, why is there no Heart of Gold mod out ye

Nanorippers yes, they're justified at that early stage. But since my infrastructure and playstyle relies on having a ffew outstanding ships, and a lot of good ones, it works well. In a game I had ages ago, I was getting beaten quite badly, and designed a "Nano Defiant" class cruiser (no prizes being given on what weapons) and they allowed me to capture a couple of high pq planets, which I converted to research. Got to doom ray in a year after that (fro

Doom Rays are cheaper and far better. I'd rather spend my time doing the required research and then having ships that are nice and cheap, yet still doing huge damage. I can get tiny fighters with an attack of 26 and a price less than 200 bc with proper weapons, Psionic just arent worth it.

Oh god, are we going to see sick wedding jokes now? no? damn And spacetimer, I didn't use terraforming etc, I changed the files in the game, so I started with a class 21 homeworld (The Thala get it, why not me?)

Get rid of the beta. Beta's are not stable, and will certainly increase problems over the main games. Uninstall the patch, and go back down to 1.0x with SDC. A debug.err will help, so people can analyse your problem, as it is I (and everyone else) can only guess. Your machine is definately powerful enough, it was tested that a windows 98 can run the game. Make sure all unnecesary background programs are closed as you play it, because they cause problems by pinching the CPU. Mcaffee, if I remembe

You have to manually delete them anyway, or they just come back next game. If you're saying that the ship designs pre 1.0x are bugged now, this is a reported problem. Fixed in 1.0x itself, but you're out of luck for now

But Astax, this could be useful. A PQ+17 with a bonus of about 300+ on a front line is useful, and if it's a core world then you make it very hard for the AI to conquer you, you can move quicker than they can with hige numbers of ships . My best planet (sorry to beat you) was a 21 with a grand total of 1000% bonus (one 700 one 300) for manufacturing. Cost l

Steller catography wont tell what's habitable, but you can guess. If habitable planets are normal, odds are at least one will be habitable. On abundant, I'm averaging 4 planets per star, with at least one pq+17 per system (and one lovely pq27)

After the ethical alignment, no events ever. I used to always play evil, and evil is useless unless you have a supreme economy to support those insanely expensive evil weapons, which aren't good for very long on large+ maps. Everybody likes good races except evil races, many people won't attack. Nice good defences which just got made cheaper with last nights patch. They surrender to you more, and you get a Wonder that makes them pretty certa

First, there is a search on the forum, above the reviews. Second, the reviewer was a fool. Research is not "insanely" high, it's better than him. I can thrash it on pretty much all levels in terms of research, it's using all the same models as you. Same applies to planet production: high enough military spending will get you a ship a turn on a low-prod planet. Only at "gifted" AI level or above does it cheat, and then only gets money. I suggest th

Unfortunitly, the nature of a startagy game is that no matter how good the aiis, it's still ai That is probably the key point to be made here. It's the same reason we'll never understand the working of the human brain: if it was simpled enough to understand we would be too simple to understand it. AI w
