Well, that didn't work (the screenshot, I mean)!!

Here (hopefully) is a screenshot, if it helps. The download mgr. shown does not show "Dynamo" (I had cleared it already), which is the one file to make it to the desktop. I'll try the re-install. Is LS supposed to open by itself, but show the new logon already in the active list straight from the download mgr.? If not that then I think the breakdown must be in the d/l mgr.? (which you did men
I guess I'm the weak link here....!!
Boss, When using FF the download window opens, shows progress of the d/l, then shows done. I click on "open" and it goes straight to the LS window, as described before. There is no choice during this to "open" or "save" (as it does in IE, which when I tried that, just had the same result). The default d/l place is desktop (I have never changed that). Also, earlier in this mess I downloaded a dock icon using this procedure with no problem! Sends the zip to a temp folder, unzip, move the
The logons I've tried to download? But, with these downloads/logons I'm not even getting to a point where I can even try to un-zip anything.
Using Firefox browser, Extraction wizard (default in XP?) to open zips - the same stuff I've used all along for logons, icons, walls, docks etc.
Boss or Cavan or Bichur, if you're still around.... I'm now having the same problem. I have downloaded and used many logons for a year now (Boss may remember our discussion, on another thread, of "pirating" his My_very_own_logon" from a couple weeks ago - it is currently in use with no problems). When I got any zip in the past, I would unzip in the "temp" folder it was downloaded to, take the folder and drop it into Logonstudio in program files. Just tried that with some PNG icons for O
Very useful, Zoomba. Reading through the various forums the last couple days it seems more of these articles, on many topics, would be very helpful to a lot of people.
THANKS Bichur!! I had seen your similar reply in a couple other related posts, but wasn't quite sure if it was the exact thing I needed. Any reason the other method seems to give some people trouble? Thank you very much!
I know this is an older post, but hopefully someone will respond. I've recently been trying to get this same thing to work. I've got the "animated shortcut"docklet by A. Verhoeven, I can change the image, but am unable to get the path to get the start menu to come up. (I have also had a start docklet working separately, but it's not animated) C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Start Menu ... (from reply 1) Is the "..." at the end of the path shown significant of further info
Really great work everybody. Po', the shield and Works icons are excellent - the look of the gears is especially well done! (I'm not sure how you are able to concentrate well enough at this point!)
I have been using paint.net (a freebie program to get started) and used it to save the wall jpeg as a bitmap, and the rest worked great! Mostly I have messed around with creating icons from existing images, and have now started creating images (like my avatar) and starting to think of creating in layers. So this gives me something else to "mess" with!! I have just in the last few days started entering the forums, even though I've "hung around" WC for months. It generally seems the expe
Thanks Bichur. I've had the software for a while - the icon on my desktop says Aveicon, but it too says AveIconifier2 once you open it up. I had the page bookmarked, but didn't check to see if the "download" there went anywhere.
OK...so I MIGHT be a dumb as I look... You actually have to USE A BITMAP!!! (thought I was using one, but they say the eyes are the first to go...they do say that don't they, it's not something else is it??!) Second try worked perfectly. Thanks muchly Boss!! You must be so happy and proud of helping us noobs/newbs (whichever!) rip off your work! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/sm
Deleted bitmap_100 in the "Very Own" folder, replaced with a new wall... but only got a plain light blue screen with your user sign-in graphics. Still tryin'!
OK...it's sounding a little less like Russian or Swedish or whatever language is was you were talking in earlier.... Give me a minute, or 100.... And I would ALWAYS credit the master - besides, everyone knows your work, and I'd never get away fast enough!!
"There used to be some free icon software."(reply 1152) To convert PNG to icons I found Aveicon easy - just drop the PNG in one side, and drag the icon out the other. Is this what is being asked for? http://www.aqua-soft.org/board/showthread.php?t=15304
"A few times, they just ended up ripping one of mine and changing the wall."(reply#3) For the most part, what you and Bichur are talking about is still a foreign language... As a beginner I had only figured out a way to change the "wallpaper" on your "rippable" (guess that's not a real word!)logon, and that's where things went...um...awry! Back to the drawing board, but paying close attent
Boss... Yea, I understand what you're saying. I just applied "My Very..." as the logon in use and it does work well as usual (as do all your others!, which I knew are generally 1280). Think I just have a loooong way to go, and much more messin' around to do before I can get one up and running!!
Boss.... As a new total beginner I tried out "My Very Own Logon" a while ago, as a learning tool. I could never quite get it to work properly - what I believe you call the splash showed up in a different position (and in 2 pieces I seem to remember)than in the preview, and it was totally transparent until the cursor hit it. I'm assuming this is only caused by the difference in resolution ("My Very..." is 1000x800 and I'm using 1280x1024)? - I had not changed any other settings. Unlike
Thanks one more time Po'!! The "run" icon is great! Again, I really appreciate the time and effort, and especially the results!!
Out of practice my a**!!! That's AMAZING!! You captured the essence of the Garmin GPS perfectly, and with graphics that are beautiful!! And both icons in a couple hours - unbelievable! I can take a couple hours just to figure out how to get one layer to not show on top of another. LOL! Phoenixheart was right when he said I would be taken care of!! Not only am I impressed but inspired! (now I'll have to get up early to go for my run, so that I can play with my paint.net and GIMP!!).
WHOOAA!! That's excellent, amazing and awesome! That will be great on my dock and desktop! I'm extremely impressed. The little I've learned when trying to create icons, etc., makes me even more jealous of the detail of your work - the colours (Canadian spelling!), textures and shadows are great! I know the moderation process can take a while. What primary criteria is it based on - work quality....assumed popularity of the program the artwork is made for ...other ...or a
I've only made the green avatar/logo (in various forms, but hopefully learning more each version). The other (yellow ones) I found in the galleries - and I have messed with them a bit, but did not want to use them publicly since someone else did the creating! Just finished reading the rest of your writing on Joe User - great fun!! I had previously read the Christmas Elf, and got good mileage from re-telling it at family Christmas (proper acknowledgment to the author , of course!!).<br/
