Ahhhh, so many nerds. I must resist. I failed. I hated anything Star Trek after TNG. But I have to admit that I, being a super nerd, would probably at least load the mod up once to see how it looked. I havent seen a ST or SW mod yet that I kept on for more than a few hours. They are always poorly conceived and ruin the original game.

That is the point needystranger. If they lower taxes and divert funds to social projects you are slowing them down. I loved destab if I was playing form behind militarily but I had a good economy. It helped me force them to play my game of diplomacy and economics instead of war. I guess I will have to find a new way of doing it if it isnt covert.
I like Doc J's idea. I like ludicrous juxtapositions. I think they are funny if a little cheesy. The names generally depend on my mood at the time but they might be: BB: Underpants Mk. BVD CA: Mouse Mk. SqueakII DE: Dimunitive Fighter: Commodious Sometimes I name after food too. It is hard to name individual ships with this system though. Unless you have a Thesaurus.
That depends on who you order the CD version from. If you order it from totalgaming.net Stardock will send you a temporary serial to download the game until your disc shows up. If you order the CD from say Gamestop, WalMart, et al then you will have to wait for your disc to show up. Your disc will have the serial with it and you can download the game with it. So you could leave your CD encased for backup purposes and download the game. Stardock uses no copy protection so you need no disc.
ditto to itzkoopa. Michigan is a serious pass. Besides I am more of a hardware/software troubleshooter and not a programmer.
Lame, this is not a space sim. It is an empire sim. Buy a space sim if you want to control formations and ships.
Is crazy dan, dan studer from ellensburg??
Prince of Cows: You need to download the multimedia and movies if you want them. The GalCiv2 download was only the code for the game the game data. As I understand it you dont have to get the multimedia, movies, or tutorial to play the game. I could be wrong. I didnt test my theory as I downloaded all of it so I could view em
If you are successfully preloaded you should be able to go to your shortcut in the start menu and tell it to play the game. Then it should come up with a splash screen. If you click play it tells you to wait until the 21st. You can also read the manual from there. The last button is "update." On the 21st or later you can click update and the game will take the rest of the files from stardock and complete the install of the game so you can play it. If none of that is true then you have a pr
I would rather have it be abstracted at 1mton to 1 billion that 1mton to 1 million. It is a little less insane than the alternative. I dont want total realism but it would be insane for each person to have 2000lbs of food a week. Insane because then a large planet would need many many farms to grow to even 1 billion people. Which should be easy considering earth has 6 billion and we are considered a class 10 in the game. Thank you for the clarification. I thought they would hav
generous is a subjective measure. I have had no problem getting help from friends in GalCiv1. I am assuming that GalCiv2 will be no different. I know Frogboy was saying that he has helped his friends and they have helped him. Again though, help is a subjective measure.
Ressurecting this thread to get clarification. After reading the manual it says that you need farms to grow a planet beyond the 3 million that the planet "capital" provides for. Page 31 of the manual seems to be saying that without farms you can not grow a planet to its full extent. I know you might not want to get a planet too large because of morale issues but only 3 million? That doesnt seem like a lot. Darth Kryo said that you cant have a food shortage but the manual sure makes it soun
Well technically you would still be preordering until 0001 on the 21st of Feb. So I would think so. All we got to do was preload the game so that on the 21st we only download a small file. We dont have the game yet.
Drag and Drop. Make sure you point the shortcut in your start menu to the new location of the data. Also if you penetrate the options of SDC you will find a section where you can tell it the destination folder you wish it to go to when it installs the game and what you want the shortcut in the start menu to be named. I cant remember the exact menu and sub menu to go to because I am at work and it sucks my brain out. This is all assuming you are running windows.
There hasnt been a ruler of a nation on the battlefield fighting for hundreds of years. Did Winston Churchill, Hitler, Staling, Roosevelt, et al go down and tell the battalions and divisions where to go in the fight for Europe. No!!! As for misophists statement that because there are resources a leader could choose to harvest that they should be able to control individual ships, that is ridiculous. That arguement doesnt make any sense. It isnt abstract at all to say that there could be some
did you input your serial number or your order confirmation number? You get an order confirmation number right after you pay, but you dont get your serial number right away. On GC1 I got it about a half hour later, on GC2 I got it a month later because the game wasnt out yet. You should get a serial number in an email from stardock soon if you havent already. If you put your confirmation number in that wont work. It is only so that you can prove you paid and stardock is verifying they have
Gracias Senor Frogboy de Stardock.
I think it is time that I was able to pass my boring day at work managing my own server farm that never has problems, talk about boring, by reading and re-reading some game examples. That would be sweet.
Every link on this site has been doing that to me for a week, both at work and home. I click on a link and then it loads the page I was already at. I click it again and it takes me to the link. Odd.
The whole point of the collectors edition is to get people to commit early. This helps them judge the profit margin and get people sucked in before reviews come out. That being said, I preorderd galciv2 because I love this company. I KNOW they will make any problem right and I trust them. I will never preorder anything unless the company is like Stardock. And because you posted in the forum you must want my opinion . If
I dont know how you could forsee a problem with a game you dont have yet. I think it would be better to wait until you have the whole game and then ask stardock. They have been very open about everything. No need to level accusations about a broken game. "Problems Already"
Gracias Senor DesRivieres
If you read Frogboy's post on the story of GalCiv he does say a little about the Thalan that you might like. It is in the dev journal section. Sorry I wasnt forward thinking enough to copy the link.
First Consevative Rant (Substantial?): I cant believe there is even a discussion that the UN is good. Only a fool would believe so. I wish for the day that every country would fracture into small localities. It is insanely more efficient for a small group to satisfy there needs than a large group. My wife and I can satisfy our familial needs better than the mayor of our town. And our city council can satisfy our local needs better than our governor, and so on and so forth. I thi
