PQ 72, only once, but the ai had built it up some (it wasn't just out there).

Yes, there is. First, non military cultures should focus on trade, diplomacy, and research. If you build up significant trade routes with a variety of neighbors, you can quickly leverage control. It will build you relations with them (helped by the added diplomacy), and as you get rich, so do they. Should a war arise, you then have powerful group of friends to either call to your aid, or to get money from. If you build a good economy,
You can modify your star clusters, I personally like this feature, as I think that it adds spice to it (have to modify your gaem style based on whats around you (and you can be very sucessful in either of the situations you mentioned).
The Neutrality reasearch is nice though since it takes much less time to research it hen it does to research discovery sphere. I'm glad they finally implamented it.
I still can't take on the Dread Lords on Cake walk with any sureity on any ai level (and I'm playing sandbox on challenging). The only way I beat the campaign was on the earth mission was to crash my economy in a mad sprint, while selling almost all I had to finance a mad dash to teh DL planet. When it ended, I was maxed out on my debt limit, loosing hundreds of bc a turn, and had only one shot. It wasn't pretty, but worked.
They are gained by researching Xeno Ethics, and choosing "Evil".
Ok, after abot two hours it gave me the option to download again, no it's reading beta 3. w00t!
I just downloaded, but my main menu still lists my version as beta2 (not beta3), anyone else get this?
I was going for an influence win and the UP suddenly started rolling out limit the number of modules on starbases every single time. When that happend to me, I waved good bye and walked away. The increased culutre from my bases allowed me to leverage enough influence to make up for the loss of trade.
I did not even bother to read the players manual So I went to the user-manual. It describes what a waypoint is - but does not have any instructions as to how or where to go to
I allied with the altarians once, then fliped thier homeworld, they just kept on smiling...
What I've found in beta 2 is that the ai holds off on attacking planets unless it's confident it can win. They will usually bypass my planets until they find one with only 4-5 ships and no orbital fleet manager, then pick it apart. As far as invading goes, they comp. has worked me several times, usually setting up orbital blockades to destroy my ships as I produce them, or launching massive deep strikes into my territory. I had one where they flew though my whole empire to attack a core world
Class 72 was my top, found it fairly early in my playing experiance, havn't seen one since. Heres a link to my original post with a picture and save game file. Link By the way, before I get accused of cheating/modding again, note that three seperate devs all commented on the post, and none of them made any inclination that it is not possible (I doubt the would care if the
I've notcie dthe smaller ships issue. With the increased logistics in the beta, you can amass large fleets of throw away ships quickly. On a normal intelligence level I got a military victory with out ever equiping my ships with any defense, nor building anything larger then tiny. I just mass produced, built fleets of 9 or more ships, and swarmed anything I came across.
Works fine for me (albeit a bit slow).
April Fools!
In that case, then I'm not sure. Have you tried updating your drivers? Since I'm running the US version, I don't know if there is a differance.
You can run a scenerio called "Dread Lords on Parade" (I think, never tried it). Then ooption is at the galaxy setup menu.
It's not located in the system folder. You need to go to mydocuments/mygames/galciv2/ships. This is the defualt directory, if they are not there, then your program has been modified. You could try running a file search, put in the name of one of your ships, then track it down manually (if above location doesn't work). I clean mine out every two or three weeks.
Proberbly your best idea is to download and install the entire game, that might solve your problems of features missing.
I once found a class 72 planet (it belonged to teh Iconions). No, I didn't mod it, nor do I know how it happened. It was so late game though that it din't really matter, but still cool, I kept the save game.
I personally think, thatif all who owned the game were asked, teh AI would be ranked very high. Unfortunitly, the nature of a startagy game is that no matter how good the aiis, it's still ai. It's limited, it isn't as smart as a human is, nor ever can be. Humans will always be able to find some nook or cranny with which to exploit (I use the word exploit because it is taking advantae of something he ai has no way to counter, I don't mean "cheat" oth
I just played my first beta 2 game, set on a higher ai then I usually play at. When they come to you to end a war, it seems you can get much much more out of them. Proberbly a result of hte change to where they are more willing ot trade, but I was geting at least five techs and several thousand bc each time they sued for peace. Kinda liked it, made me feel like I was really working them.
"Good walls make good neighbors." Robert Frost?
Starforce never damaged my computer in any way other than being a pain in the butt.I don't like it but it's far less draconion than this fouled up system. Do you even know what draconion means? They are giving youFREE stuff. You bought the 1.0 version of the game. It works. The beta and all the ot
