Let me state this, I love it when the devs put out a gameplay example of their wars with the AI. But, AFAIK, it's not easy to gather, and properly order screenshots, plus memories fade. One suggestion that was made when it was announced that the epic generator feature would be postponed, was to just have the game take a screenshot at a particular time and let the player fill in the blanks. Well, I propose more. The most similiar feature of another game that I

I LIKE this idea! But it can happen to good civs too (as you stated, optional)
The thing that makes EVE meaningful and fun is the community and the freedoms granted it. All other things are secondary to that.
I was only interested in how they pulled it off, and how it worked. You wouldn't happen to have a video of it happening, or something? And yes, I' aware of the difficulty involved in their construction. I don't have a video and I can tell you about my own experience. I was the POS director for my corporation, and I oversaw the handling of 4 Large Caldari POS and several smaller POS. The small POS were miners and the Large POS were reactors. All of this was mea
TBH, I didn't think MOO3 was that bad. Granted, it could have been better, but I think if they allowed for a few more patches it's marco style gameplay could have been enjoyable.
As an EVE veteran, the key to enjoyment of EVE is first, set goals for yourself and go for them, second, find a good corp. Eve University might bee good for you. I wouldn't suggest erecting a POS by yourself as a goal, becuase those things suck fuel like no tommorrow and the stuff they can do can be done better in other empire stations. They are most expensive and time consuming to erect. Simply put, EVE is a very love it or hate it game. I can be so meaningful becuase EVE a
Have a option to select which events may occur ( don't like that artifact of power event ). Give ONE chance to undo a move that DOES NOT involve combat or enemy sighting. In the ship customization screen. Please give an indication which side is front (good for the truely customized ships) AND (this is REALLY important) offer some sort of measure so you can be sure the ship you're designing coincides with the standard size of it's intended ship hull. Because one ship I made,
In my most recent game, when I declared war against the humans (I'm Yor) 4 other races declared war on me.
I agree, it simply doesn't make sense not to have fleets in orbit of planets
One thing that kind of bugs me is when another species finds an artifact that greatly enhances it's power. I don't really like that, I feel it puts a monkey wrench in the flow of the game (or at least should be towards the end). I was just playing a game where the Drengin recieved that item, and it was fairly early in the game too. Is there any way to mod it out?
This probably has been spoken of before, but I don't have time to puruse 400 replies and I have to ask. How hard would it be to implement play by email (like Stars!) or a web based server game (like Laser Squad Nemesis) I am talking from complete ignorance here, but it seems logical that a multiplayer system that doesn't require a constant connection with your opponent would not require as extensive programming as one that does. I can appreciate the arguments against h
I've been playing GalCiv 2 for quite awhile, and in the original game I had many interesting designs (though unfortunately deleted.) After my first sandbox game in the Dark Avatar Expansion, I figured I should share the noteworthy designs I made, plus some words on their intent. As far as my goals when creating ships. I'm pretty open, I look into the ships function, or just what I feel for at the moment, but I suppose my basic theme is elegance. The "C
I'll do that, but after looking it over again, I missed that an economic condition (the "boom" event) ended and the drop was much greater than I expected. I think it was just that.
You don't understand, all my sliders were above 0, I had virutally NO production in any form, and as far as my wallet, it was over 10k BC, so no, I had no debt problems and my economy was booming.
Though I have yet to really test this in combat, I generally build ships according to the production capability of a planet, and try to have balanced fleets. At my point of this last game. I have 1 large, 2 med, 2-3 small, and 2-3 tiny in a particular fleet, only time will tell if it works out.
Well, it probably wouldn't be beyond reason to have a tactical and "classic" combat mode in a future game.
This happened pretty late in the game, when all the major players had significant fleets. When the event Dread Lord event happened, I was expecting fleets of DL attack ships to descend on our galaxy, causing real havoc and overall being a real pain to take care of. Nope.... All that happened was they were granted a world, no ships even. I sent 3 combat fleets (becuase I am the cautious type) and 8000 of their troops. Bam, no more Dread Lords, no ships encountered wha
Would it be possible to use what you have to take screenshots at key events with a brief log of what that event was, and let the players fill in the epic?
Whoops, ended that one too early. That last setence, "despite the game saying I have virtually no production:" ends that I still get improvements made at regular intervals.
I was playing this game, managing a relatively peaceful state of affiars, a event screen came up, saying that the fertility booster energy field has arrived, a few turns later, I noticed one of my planets had a "never" ETA for a ship construction. That perked my attention, then I saw every planet had NO or a tiny fraction of their previous production. Also, my wallet went kaput. I don't think it's spies, because I'm friends will all the remaining AIs. Plus, despite the game
One thing to note, problem solved, I updated my movie and multimedia files using SDC. All good now.
Well I moved all the xml files to s different folder, no change
My latest game in DA there is a minor problem. During UP or diplomacy screens, every race that isn't native to the DA expansion only have a static picture, not the looping movie as is normal. I tried copying over the main games video files to do this, but to no avail. Any ideas, or just the proper filenames so I can rename them? Thanks
Seeing that a large ship can take out much more smaller ones, is building a great number of small ships still a useful strategy?
Such previews only serve to whet my appitite more. But on the bright side, it does give me more time to finish the Dread Lords Campaign. But honestly, I hope if not now, but in a furture release that a new campaign starts which culminates into throwing the Drengin on their collective rears!
