Don't mess this up SD.
Easy to say, harder to do ... but in the end, I don't think I'm alone in feeling of all the publishers out there, Stardock takes greater strides in making things right for its customers when one of its launches flops, like War of Magic. I'm not sure if Brad ever mentioned how many of us early adopters and launch-day purchasers there were whom he had to, hat in hand, o

"Better" is subjective. I find Steam's middleware stuff more annoying than anything. Endless Space was okay. I am getting increasingly annoyed with the overlay popups on LH .. .I should just kill them. I hate it when I'm trying to see how much gold I have when .... OKAY SHUP STEAM GOWAY! For me, "better" is unobtrusive ... Steam, to me, is obtrusive. I gave Facebook a try, found I hated it, I hated the spam, and have come to realize

Stardock's honestly lost a few points in my eyes over the years. However, it isn't as though other publishers haven't miffed me ... I'm underwater at the moment unfortunately, but I expect to start a new job next month and hopefully will have some splurge money come December. If the discount is still available then, I probably will splurge for the cheaper beta buy-in. I still enjoy GalCiv II. Whatever differences I've been developing, Brad has earne

I can see this having limitations. Games tend to stay steady in price for awhile .... so what then if the currencies seriously diverge (the euro or pound skyrocket or plummet against the dollar, etc.)? Should the American price be the 'base' price and the price in other currencies should fluctuate on their relative value to the dollar, or vice-versa?

I honestly am not big on multiplayer, and single player games don't require a lobby. Yeah, I know, there's a lot of fans I'm sure thrilled that GC3 will be multiplayer ... I hope

I loved tactical combat in MOO2, getting my ships in position, especially when I had them decked out so a small force could rip through a much larger enemy fleet, use transporters or boarding pods to steal the enemies' own ships out from under them, etc. I didn't mind the tedium ... but while I found GC2's combat viewer a bit underwhelming (and lack of range, speed or rate of fire differences in the combat viewer), I don't want a MOO2 nor even SOTS level of finesse (thou

I still don't like Steam. :( I thought Brad didn't either, but I guess he changed his mind. It seems like he changed his mind before divorcing Impulse. I don't like third party software like the steam client to have to constantly run. When I'm playing a full screen game, I'd like every resource my computer has to go toward making the graphics as crisp as possible and the gameplay as smooth and lag-free as possible ... a third party
As a practical matter, the founders would have been appalled at the idea of the federal government making the purchase or acquisition of anything illegal. Even Hamilton would wonder what business it is of the the government what I purchase with my money.
Several founding fathers wanted to outlaw the purchase of people (slavery). How evil of them! And incorrect of you.
Quoting Chibiabos, reply 5840s, 14th amendment ... do you make yourself take drug tests, Frogboy? Federal laws have always superceded state laws, from the very founding of the nation, long before the 40s (presuming you mean the 1940s). There were fights regarding this throughout the 1700s when we first founded to the 1800s. His post is admittedly somewhat awkwardly phrased, but you are off base here. <br /

I loved Master of Orion II. I hope someone makes a worthy Master of Orion IV ... let's just forget III. Anyhoo, I didn't mind the tactical combat in MOO ... but that was MOO. GalCiv isn't MOO. GalCiv is GalCiv. I did and do wish for something a bit more than GC2's combat viewer ... I wish different technologies could give different weapon ranges and firing rates on weapons, not just simple weapon strength versus armor/shields/anti-missile defens
Alstein brought up why we don't paAs more amendments. Part of the problem, IMO, is the incorporation doctrine that came out in the 40s where federal law now trumps state law due to the 14th amendment. As a result, people are wary of giving or taking power from the federal government because it will apply to the states. Incorporation isa n abominable policy.
40s, 14th amendment ... do you make yourself take

Firefox has become very unstable over the years, particularly with the unfortunately ubiquitously-necessary Java and Macromedia plugins. I've had lots of browser crashes, a few BSODs and often a lot of lag and unresponsiveness. Webmasters gripe about ad blockers, but most flash ads are super-bloated and buggy to the point of crashing Firefox a lot, and its even creeped in a bit to the same plugins on Chrome sadly, though nowhere near as bad as Firefox (and thu

I've had a tactical combat stuck upon a failed enemy 'summon' ... I can't recall for certain now, I think it was a failed summon of an assassin demon. The casting unit was stuck, the summon didn't complete, I wound up having to auto-resolve which caused most of my units to die (which sucks as my tactics of surrounding each one at a time, pulling back my weak units and healing them was winning without costing me units :/).
