I wonder if Elemental will get to the point of 2.x versions by the time stuff is done. It sounds like so much stuff is going to be changed, not just in this patch but in the future, that they might need to make new manuals ...

Civilized tooltip says it costs less to establish settlements. Whenever I establish a settlement, the only thing it costs is the pioneer unit consumed to make it. None of my global resources decrease by a single one. :/
You can't train units if you lack the gold, as troops require gold to build in addition to gold to maintain.
I have found that if I choose Actions/Attack (or just hit 'A' on the keyboard) and left click a target, it will almost always give me a Battle option instead of that lousy auto-resolve that often happens if you just right click on a target. Likewise, if you LEFT click on a hero next to your unit, you can click Actions and "Recruit" to recruit them. This works even if you're on a dreaded diagonal that, with right click, for some reason triggers an attack instead of
I declared war on someone I had trade routes going to. I instantly lost all the food bonus, of course ... but my trade caravans kept going and I couldn't build new ones to start trading with another civ! :(
I disagree all around, and I think you confuse graphics detail and capability with all around game design. Quality has not improved in games ... programming and graphics have become more bloated and cumbersome. A car made out of red plastic looks hot, but being made of plastic -- has the quality really improved? Games had a lot fewer bugs back then. I'm not sure if its laziness on account of "oh, well, if its not perfect, anyone can just download a pat
The hero that got the egg cannot necessarily return it. I had to transfer the egg from the hero who had done all the previous steps in the quest to my Sov to then return to the dragon.
I've seen a couple posters state that the sov's kids can imbue, but none of mine can -- only the sov himself. Were others able to imbue in previous versions? My sov's essence keeps getting nerfed because I wanted a lot of magic wielders. Got married, traded kids ... now I'm thinking i should only have my sons intermarry because the gal goes wherever, that'd give me more magecasters and by not giving away daughters, I can keep them as magecasters too.
My big gripe about tactical combat is how slow things are, especially ranged attacks. Hit? Miss? Kill? Takes forever for the animation to complete, and then a good couple seconds more before you can shoot again. Frustratingly slow! I generally put out some super elite mounted archers, tweaked with every Combat move-adding equipment I can. I almost have them able to fire four arrows/turn now each. Its become pointless to even bri
From what I've read from Brad's notes on 1.08, it sounds like they will do away with the 50 tile limit. Huzzah! I've been extremely careful in where I put my buildings in my cities, if there is a somewhat distant resource that eventually will be in the city's radius when it reaches or nears level 5 ... I'll wind up stringing a thin chain of buildings there because I know I won't have enough tiles to build everything. If (and when, now that it seems they'll d
I had the same problem in one of the replies above, that going back after recovering the egg -- with a hero (not the Sov) did nothing, it would trigger nothing at the hut. Several folk mentioned using their Sov, so I teleported in my sov, gave him the egg and had him enter the hut alone. That did it! Ended the quest and got me the dragon. She looks like Donkey's wife from Shrek, lol ... kinda purplish.
I, too, have noticed the city sight range doesn't increase with watch tower. I wonder if its possible that only the tower itself gets the sight bonus, but not sure.
Okay, this is very frustrating. I've been building up a rather sizeable military, which of course is a bit expensive. I did so starting with a bustling economy, but now my income is negative -- I'm staying in the positive by having a few stacks of doom out in unclaimed territory to knock down big monster stacks. I finally got my hands on that rare Advanced Economics research that's supposed to improve your income by 10%. However, it didn't seem to do much ... and I r
I used to have very frequent "Out of memory" errors which stumped me because, after the first one, I kept Task Manager running with performance and it didn't get near full consumption of my RAM. Then I read it was an issue with July-and-earlier ATi drivers, and it was actually a memory leak on the graphics card memory. I updated to the newest drivers from ATi ... and about 90% of my "Out of memory" error messages and crashes have gone away. I still get some,
I notice Elemental has the similar unit auto selection glitches to Galactic Civilizations 2. Shouldn't be a surprise, I guess. Units with orders -- like move, guard or fortify -- definitely should not be in the idle queue for tab. The "Autoturn" is hosed, I absolutely recommend everyone turn off the "Autoturn" because it'll snub units and cities that need orders. :/
Not sure if anyone's found this yet (is there a master list of bugs that others have already fond somewhere?), but I incurred a very frustrating glitch ... I found an unclaimed hero wandering through a enemy (well, competitor -- I wasn't at war but my Peace Treaty expired with them) territory. It was actually just inside their border when I saw and recruited them. I had a very dominant border, and the geography there was a little complex -- basically a long bay seperated my settle
I think it'll be GC3, but not until Elemental has had a run at least as long as GC2, so ... my guess is GC3 around 2015, maybe even 2016. May be even later, because I know Brad will expect to set things right. I know they were probably planning expansions, but I expect its going to be months before the major bugs get worked out. I expect Stardock's actual game making department to go through some changes. Hopefully Brad, having had to acknowledge the screw up, will rea
The crashes are very frustrating. :( About 1 in 3 crashes, Windows reports as "Out of Memory" even though I am far from -- I have 4 GB of RAM, and after the first "Out Of Memory" error I started running Window's Task Manager in the background on the performance tab which charts memory usage over time, and though the memory usage was notable, it never exceeded more than about 2/3 of my 4 GB of RAM. It does not seem to tax my graphics card heavily either, as my GPU never exceeds 6
Just goes to show me how clueless CNN is. Sparked debate? Or that its even Stardock's first game to forego DRM? They're only several years behind the times with GC2. And I'd like to hear the controversy from, say, poor Ubisoft on how evil Stardock is unfairly destroying their business because the Assassin's Creed 2 DRM is such a good thing, really!
Stardock has definitely earned my loyalty. Assassin's Creed sounded like a fun game, but the DRM definitely makes it a no-go. I think back to Sony and the rootkit scandal, though, to waking me up to how unenjoyable DRM makes gameplay. It was bad enough back in the day when DRM meant trying to read those weird black-on-very-dark-red cards with SimCity and always having to fish out your CD to play your game, now DRM causes hidden damage to your OS and there is no reason whatso
Win2k is much more efficient than any OS since and any OS prior except NT4. I reluctantly moved to Beasta because it came pre-installed on my laptop, but was glad to move to 7. I miss Win2k and regret support for it has been dropped. It was a much leaner OS. Games that run on Win2k and XP will tend to run with higher FPS on Win2k and run a lot smoother in general because of XP's relative bloat.
I am having the same issue.

And Obama's plan didn't even pass. No public option, over a hundred million Americans will still be unable to afford health care and tens of thousands will continue dying as a result every year due to corporate health care rationing from the ongoing Richard Nixon national heatlh care "system."
LOLfail. This is the result of corporatized health care. Need lifesaving, expensive care? HMO boots you, why should your health care insurance company actually pay for health care just to save your pathetic life! When the doc thinks you need a treatment, but your HMO doesn't, guess who wins? More people die from lack of health coverage every year -- 45,000 per year -- in the U.S. than from traffic accidents (42,000 per year). We are the only in
