Yeah, i meant the elite founders program where you get the base galciv 3 and all the future expansions and DLC for 1 price now. i just want to show my support to stardock and at the same time, i think the icon below your username looks cool [e digicons]:D[/e]
Thanks. It pays to have artist friends. :P Okay, technically I paid an artist friend to draw it, heh.
Chibiabos
I guess it depends on whether he meant the Elite Founder's Package, in which case its more like 6 years (Elite Founder's Packages get all expansions in addition to all DLC). Its not as though the Founders get DLC early (at least so far as I know, we won't get 'DLC betas') ... we just don't have to pay extra for them.
Yup. Might as well seek to be a founder of Rome now. :P
Stardock had one of the few 'ankle-biting' competitors to Steam with Impulse, which they sold to Gamestop which killed it (you can no longer buy games on it, and most games you bought on Impulse if you try to download with their legacy app now download in Steam instead :/). There are a couple minor competitors like Gog which specializes (though isn't exclusively) old games (from even the MS-DOS area, like Master of Orion, M.A.X., etc.) with the software like DosBOX to let th
Vanilla game is not very stable. I generally incur a crash every 5 to 10 hours or so. Its not terribly frequent, but frequent enough, and I hear a lot of folk have crashes a lot more frequently. There are still sound cut-outs so that's not fully fixed yet even though the 1.01 patch I think said it was fixed.
Yes, very annoying. :/ Sometimes I can click on an enemy fleet, find out how many moves it is, and I can thus manually move a defenseless ship around it and keep it safe ... but not when the moves disappears from the mouseover, not to mention I can't tell how many of my own moves are left :/
Could anyone explain why the Altarians, after having declared war on me (I am playing Yor), voted for me for UP Chair? Is this a bug?

Title is a bit cumbersome, so will try to break it down ... If you have a constructor ship that has multiple constructor modules, and you take it to a starbase to upgrade that starbase, but that starbase has only one available upgrade, the entire constructor (all of its modules) will get consumed making that one upgrade. There's no constructor left to move to upgrade another starbase. This is inconsistent with the fact that if you have a constructor sh
I've seen this occur a couple of times now, at first I thought it was a glitch or maybe I mis-clicked. When I start a New Game, it displays the size from the previous game (Excessive) so I don't change it. I check the other settings and eventually click 'Start' to generate the galaxy. However, sometimes I quickly notice it generated a Tiny galaxy. I go to start a new game, and indeed the size setting defaults to 'Tiny' on the second attempt to

I don't know if it limits you from researching your option in the future for one you haven't researched yet, but I have found it will let me get techs through trading or gifts from rival AIs where I already made the choice. So far as I can tell, that means I get to enjoy the benefits of both enhancements.
There's no "good" guys in this game, everyone behaves in exactly the same fashion.
Quick, let's sign a petition to force Stardock to bring back the Torians! XD
I have yet to get them as good. I played as Altarians, I played as Benevolent, the Terrans went Pragmatic and hated my guts.
Space has always interested me. Though it also makes me sad. Interesting because the possibilities are literally endless. Sad because I know that I live in a time period (most likely all of us do), in which we won't even begin to experience those possibilities. It's both an exciting and depressing reality for me. We see all of these fiction shows where people imagine humanity traveling to the furthest stars a
I can't seem to play Terrans as the Pragmatists their AI has them as, or Altarians as Benevolents with out the other DOWing me :/ I should play someone else in a future game and see how frequently the AI Terran and AI Altarians DOW each other.
Couldn't you have sold or gifted away some of it to another civ?
I'm playing a custom race, I think using the Terran tech tree but not sure. Surely I can't be the first one to find I can't actually get research treaties? At least now I know what became of the tech I researched -- I saw 'Slave Brokering' treaties enabled as options when I w
STILL present in 1.0 release. :/ I have traded away the Research Treaty tech with every major and minor civ, but an actual research treaty never shows up as an option :/

I disagree. At a certain point, you are steamrolling and then it becomes a boring grind to churn out transport after transport to take planet after planet. In GC2, the AI would snub you sometimes ... if you are steamrolling them and taking planet after planet, they'll surrender -- TO SOMEONE ELSE. That was sooooo very snarky and trollsome! Hitler may have waited until Berlin was surrounded, and so its true that might not be realistic, in terms of gameplay it ju
I am playing a custom race with only Benevolent ideology. Either the Terran Alliance is malevolent and the Drengin benevolent, or something in the code has them considering my civilization to be following the opposite ideology that it is.
It happened again. Captured the battle report in a screenshot this time:
None of the above takes into consideration range. You could have a billion point Kinetic, but if it won't fire until its in short range, and its going against an enemy with strong missiles, you'll never get to fire that billion point Kinetic gun because you'll get taken out by their long range weapons. I don't think nerfing missiles to be nigh-useless is the answer, though -- maybe reduce their damage a hefty amount, but let missiles do other things other than pu
Unfortunately I didn't capture a screenshot of this, would be rather complicated to do so. I went into a battle with a pirate starbase with 3 ships. One of them showed in the tactical viewer as being destroyed, but my ship tally remained at 3 at the top. The shipyard didn't seem to fire any more weapons at my two remaining ships, and when I finally destroyed the pirate shipyard, the combat log showed it had continued to fire at my destroyed ship. After the
