I've never played a tactical battle game where I've been thinking "sure would like this a lot better if it had height differences". They never make or break a game. It's often just fluff, and fluff that the AI sucks with. I don't mind graphical hills, but I don't really need any gameplay adjustments with them. I'm happy that we have obstacles and atmospheric maps if the combat system is deep enough otherwise.

It is truly sad that these things happen more often when we suffer common hardships. Let's just hope the European crisis and the protective parties cool off as soon as possible. But remember that you don't need to be afraid of these things, the odds for this to happen to you if you live in western Europe is practically zero.

I want to correct one thing in your post above. I'm absolutely not saying that people just forget their experiences and be silent about them. On the contrary, I would prefer people to be open about their experiences. I just don't like organized religion to own these experiences, I would rather understand what is actually behind the experience. I actually would guess that you agree with me here. If I've understood you right, you just support general spirituality, and oppose

Sinperium, the argument is not "has anyone had any sort of experience", rather "has enough people regardless of background had a significant amount of experiences that that might concievably...". As I said, religion is the manifestation of fear of the limitations of our knowledge and a method of escape from unpleasant truths. It rears its ugly face whenever there is a void in knowledge or a big enough conflict between facts and hopes. While the existe

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrnMWDJfBow#t=50s I understand that the screenshot is much cooler the way it is in the OP, I just felt a bit bad for a lot of people who don't understand what it's all about and how it probably won't reflect the game itself that much.

Kantok, the unit becomes smaller the more you zoom in in the strategic map. In the screenshot below you see what size the chasm hexagon rocks actually are in game. Compare them to the size of the hexagons in the shot in the OP, and you understand that the shot is zoomed in. A lot.

I don't mind the dead trees at all. Only thing I don't like graphically that much is the mountains with their very rounded look. The shoreline looks good and sharp, I wish the mountains would look as jagged and interesting as well. I feel compared to the rest of the visuals of the game, the mounatins underperform. EDIT: By the way, I really like the new icons.

Well it's just a really zoomed in strategic view with grids turned off. If you played WoM you know how the unit scaling works when you zoom in. I don't get what all the fuzz is about. You probably never zoom that much in when actually playing.

Bottom line is that it's hard to be popular to the masses and a good businessman at the same time. Brad has done a hell of a job trying to be both with pretty good success. The irony is that as Frogboy mentioned in a reply, that he was a zealot himself. PS. I think I'm a grade 3 on the Jafo scale, with a hint of arrogance.
Because I saw magic animations in WoM go through any tile object, including other units, like a ghost. There has been no indication that magic animations have been altered in any way. The animation goes on an A to B directory. It simply doesn't know that the tile art is there. It would take alot of coding to make projectiles curve around objects. Since LOS is not even being considered, why would they spend time on a LOS based projectile animatio

It was one of two main reasons they wouldn't do sieges in FE.
Didn't mean to imply anything with it. I doubt that too, since it's been said that LOS would not be in. However, I wonder how direct damage spells such as fireballs will work as their animation would go through the rock if they had a similar animation to WoM.

By the way, did anyone pay attention to the tactical battle screenshot with a rock inside the battlefield. I think this is the first time there has been an object that should theoretically block line of sight...

Looks a lot better than the previous random map pictures. It's much less blocky and squarey. Would be great if the shoreline could be smoothed out a bit from the current jagged system, but that might be asking too much. The blue player's starting position in the second screenshot is a bit off though. Distance between red and blue is out of proportion to distance between any other two players. Then again that could just be fun variety if you can end up starting really close by
We were having our update meeting a few days ago and I was going around the table until I got to Paul, our Art Director, and I asked what he was working on. His answer was "I'm trying to get my enchanting up to 100..."
Talk about iteration right there.

Saying "that's the way it is" is not an explanation at all. There should be a reason behind a feature, it shouldn't "just be". How does the feature I talk about affect your supervision of the forums?

Jafo, you really don't seem to like my idea much, but the thing is that no one has said a single point as to why it is advantageous to have the current system instead of my proposed improvement. All that happened here is that you got kind of touchy on the issue and my suggestion got ridiculed. Basically all arguments against my idea have been that there is a 'Recent Posts' button that everyone uses that works really well. I don't see why the way the Last Post Info works is bet
