I will also be looking forward to multiplayer. Not necessarily playing against unknown people over the 'net but over a LAN or network with family / friends. Tally my purchase too.
Kerfuffle
Can I just ask about the annoying turn button bug. If you click in a certain area of the mini-map it thinks you've hit the turn button. I don't see it listed as a fix and it's been present since the beginning.
One day, in the future, when the AI has been improved considerably, and Stardock grow as a company - and provided that this particular title and style of game grows - so will the need and eventual demand for multiplayer grow as well. For now though, we must live with it in its current form. I predict that GC3 will have multiplayer but it won't be good until GCIV GC5 (though the name will be completely different by then and Stardock will be gobbled up by something far larger
'relevant' perhaps
This is a bit of a shame because the manual is becoming less and less thingy* as the game changes and improves through all the various updates. * Can't think of the word I wanted to for 'thingy'.
Well, a low random percentage of it should be plundered IMHO. This could be displayed in a box as part of the victory conditions.
My thoughts as wel Pilun777 I'm all for an expansion but the base game still needs a little polish first. There are one or 3 more little niggles that need ironing out first
Are you sure that your ships are within the starbases' sphere of influence?
Sounds good to me mavx21.
Any chance of having the GNN news updated everytime you load a saved game to give an update on where things stand instead of keep saying "A Journey Begins". It worked great in GalCiv 1. Also, it always lists the top n powerful civs. Could it not do a top n influential civs, happy civs, richest civs just for a change.
I think I've found a bug here. A United Planets vote decided that there would be no more than 2 modules that could be placed on any starbase FOREVER. This happened very early on in the game and I had just 1 or 2 starbases built. Yet I've managed to build at least 5 modules on each one that I now have. It seemed to ignore the rule for a while and then eventually it decided that when a constructor got to the square just before the starbase I wanted to upgrade, a box opens r
I'm one of those silent people. Played the game since it's come out. I'm a BIG lurker on these forums and the others - especially Apolyton. I sit and view most of the banter that comes and goes but never feel the need to comment. My only comment now - like the previous posters - have more moderators that give feed-back to the people who have issues that they feel aren't being addressed. Do a poll if you feel that you've lost heart a little. It's like that old adage that people will o
I think if you build a starbase on an Influence icon thingy then it boosts all your planets' influence. But if you create an Influence starbase in a blank sector of space then it just boosts influence within it's own 'sphere of influence' -- if you see what I mean? That could be complete poo though.
By rights then, my AMD 1 gig thunderbird with 1.5 gigs of SDram and a Geforce 3 Ti 200 belongs in a museum?
What about including weapen range in the equation. Even different types of weapen and different technological advances of the same weapen had different ranges. So, one side may be able to get one or two free shots in because of their ship(s) better range.
I think that for the AI a War is like an on/off switch and when the war ceases the AI just leave alot of their ships just lying around. It's happened to me on more that one occasion on high AI settings. I think it's something that needs to be looked at by the devs.
6. "What percent of monthy income if fair?" Someone was working late.. "What percent of monthly income is fair?" I would say that correct English would be..."What percentage of monthly income... Vernholio, If I were one of the devs then I would be very grateful to anyone kindly pointing out these small spelling and gramatical errors. Petty or not, it's good to have things as accurate as can be. How many books have you read t
It would be better though, to have a failed attack using Mass Drivers, for instance, but the attack still manages to knock out a building or two, which the other player would then have to rebuild, or take a PQ point off which the other player would have to pump more money or tech into to get back up.
Brilliant suggestion. I like that idea alot. I wonder what the devs think about it?
At Citizen nilus1 - Being the pedantic citizen that I am... your sentence has a grammatical error or two itself. 1. Isnt is spelt isn't. 2. Its is spelt it's (in the context that it's written.) 3. There should be spelt their. I won't mention 'Anyways' <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2
Missing Turn Button. Turn button vanishes and won't come back unless you save, exit the game and reload. Seems very random but might have something to do with the battle viewer screen. My first 3 games went fine. On the fourth I turned on Full battles and shortly after the first battle the turn button disappeared. I was pressing the various mouse buttons during the battle sequence and rerunning the video etc. A turn or
I too have just found this vanishing turn button. I've got the save game and debug.err if it's needed.
It seems, from the first few games that I've played, that as soon as I go to war with a civ that is doing trade with me, I get a message instantly that trade route x is too dangerous to continue etc. Now, this didn't happen straight away in GalCiv 1. At least 2 trade ships had to be destroyed first but in this game the very act of attacking an opponent seems to render any trade route that's running between a planet of yours and theirs,
