I have found two different paths to beating the dreadlords on the first dreadlord mission (and the others are really quite a bit easier to me). One involves simply doing what the mission calls for and rushing the drengin world asap. The other strategy involves simple retaking the worlds from the dreadlords and getting the tech to beat them, you only need a ok weapon tech to build fleets that can crush them and that isn't too hard to accomplish. Starbases are another possible route though it woul

Maybe he just bought them to keep porn idiots from abusing people who make typos in the browser address bar... Used to be able to mispell like almost any website and BAM asian teen porn! Also keep getting this message about "can't reply for __ seconds" what is that about?

Just attack them. There is no way to declare war otherwise (this is against anyone, not just allies). Alliances don't prevent you from attacking your partner any time you want to. Yes, actually, alliances do prevent you from attacking your ally. You have to break the alliance on the negotiations scr

The game didn't work correctly 100% of the time before when you didn't rename but used the same name. Sometimes it would build the old version with the new version selected. It isn't new and it isn't really a problem to avoid. There are dozens of other things that can stand to be fixed or added first even if one grants you that as a bug. Search the bug forums and you will see that people experienced the same problems before and at times different p

I mentioned this a second ago in another thread but please make more modable when you get around to that section of the game. It isnt that great to be able to mod a game and still have odd elements popping up. By odd elements I mean all the minor races (offshoots, new minors, venge, fundamentalists etc.), all events (minor races actually popping up, various booms, speed upgrades etc.), and other elements that do not appear in the xml files.

I ran into the same troubles, this whole area is not "very modable". Is there some trick or was such a desireable moding area overlooked? I hope someone fixes this soon, or tells us how to do it. Also remove all elements from hardcoding that should be modable such as pirates, some of the events (finding ships, minor races spawning, reproduction increase, speed increases, so on so forth), the minor races that are in there (these include the fundamen

The AI doesn't autoupgrade . It upgrades things as it sees a need. It isn't very smart about it though. I find little rhyme or reason in the upgrade system because it seems the needs outweigh any sense of efficency. They will decide they need to improve the economy and will upgrade to a stock exchange taking 140 turns or whatever while they could more then half that by upgrading a factory first (or even building a factory in the first place).</font

I could of let it go, but it's the start of a slippery slope in to text-speak. You're probably aware that stems from the usage of the contraction could've which sounds the same as could of.

the key is to keep them on one world. Just keep invading the first world back as many times as it takes and keep something in orbit on your other worlds as much as possible. When the dreadlords invade that nearest world invade it back quickly. Once you get a decent weapon start pumping out ships with as much damage as possible. Alternately a starbase strategy can be effective but takes a VERY long time. I beat this mission and wiped out the dreadl

It doesn't crash the UP you just don't see one of the voters. They still vote though. Also if you switch to a minor race it will let you vote and all the majors will still vote. On diplomacy it will add a scroll down bar on the right to take you to that 10th race since there is only room for nine. The only thing it doesn't seem prepared for is the relations screen where your custom race icon will be off screen but it will show bars going off screen that denote trade, war, or allia

On a related note, I would like the ai to minimize all it's weapons. I can't stand the huge stack of space cannons or some othe ugly junk it pastes on it's ships sometimes. Not semetrically placed or anything, just a huge pile on one side or the other. (I don't even use space cannons either, it seems the A.I opts sometimes for cheap ships when it needs military even if they are severaly outclassed) Cheap ships do have thier uses but not that many!<

This game should not have been released, it is full of bugs! I have had problem after problem running the game; corrupted saved game files, the game starting automatically on windows startup, the repeating sound effect glitch, the numerous ship designer glitches, and too many others to list. Come on guys, in your rush to meet you

I got a message similar to the trade federation message once when I tried to attack an arcean trade route, I thought it said something like this route if protected by the galactic privateers etc. That was quite a while ago, and I wasn't at war with the arceans the freighter just happened to be there when I got there.

I played with this tool some, it's pretty nice. There are some other parameters that I'm curious as to whether or not they can be unlocked. The random stuff on the board like anomalies, resouces, minor races number, etc. Is there anyway these can be tweaked? I think they would make a nice addition...

I had almost 2k in trade once but that was with every race pretty much trading with me and I had all of my trade routes to one planet super magnified with about 15 econ bases. I had all of the jessiuns trade routes as well as the iconians and at least 2 or 3 with everyone else except the drengin, who I didn't meet until they had already set up routes. Being in the middle of the board helped a lot! Oh the snathi also never traded with me but not sure

I don't think you can do that. It seems the game does not go back and check the xml files after creation. I don't think it uses them at all really after creation. You'll have to start a new game. Now I don't recommend gimping the pop growth much because it will cause the AI to act quite funny. You'll see what I mean when fleets of invaders arrive with 36-128 attackers on them which is decidedly uneffective.

Defending the arceans mission and the first dreadlords mission for sure. I think it was pretty much all of them though. It happens when you are more powerful then them. Otherwise the Yor tell you how stupid it is to fight the dreadlords because obviously we will lose, up until the dreadlords are defeated (paraphrased that of course). At that point they tell you the underestimated the dreadlords (how about you underestimated us you robotic a**hole

Supply Lines: This is actually interesting, but imagine what it would do to the gameplay. As if the AI doesn't have enough trouble guarding it's troop transports, if you could strandle their fleets and take it over... my god. What? I end up turning the AI's fleets into space junk all the time anyways

I saw 32 at my biggest. Addtionally you'll note only like 41 building tiles there... The 20% or 10% or you can mod and change it to 5000% racial bonus does nothing but increase the number. It's pretty crappy and useless except on any planets you start with which in sandbox mode is just your homeworld. There, and there alone, it increases your useable tiles. If you can't see this very well with 10 or 20 simply change it in your custom rac

he said "like ships". When you build ships they are in orbit. That probably would be possible and not that diffficult. Maybe as simple as allowing starbases to move since I think they are otherwise treated as ships (except no fleeting them). Simply allow them a base movement and you should be able to drop it into orbit of your planet, I'll look into this later.

But it doesn't count, because it was a custom race and I had fiddled with the PQ number, probably wouldn't have had either of them otherwise. Racial PQ number does nothing atm. Well it will increase your max pop but who f-ing cares about that for 8 skill points!? You get 0 additional squares. Tes
