They won't attack you if you have a larger economy, if they attacked you it is because you were weak (probably in both military and economy). They ignore industrial capacity though which is dumb. Once I had 3 planets that outproduced any 10 worlds added together that belonged to the AI, since I could not afford to run them fully the AI would threaten me, I cranked it up and sold the ships to anyone who would buy them to keep the machine running but 3

People sure talk about these rangers alot! Makes me wonder how slow they develop. On masochistic 5 people had rangers (including my 5, high luck) not a single one saw service because they were antique rather quickly. Does everyone play on slow tech? I gave 7 rangers to the torians to make them "close" and win the game, this is the only time anyone lost any rangers because they were trash most the game.
I personally love minor races, great extra factor in the galactic equation. I was HUGELY dissapointed to see the latest update removed so many of them! Please add a feature to the game that allows us to choose how many we would like. Some other features for the sandbox game creator I would like to see are: - a toggle for research trading (you have already heard this and I think I read are working on it). - Starting treasury optio
specifically the drengin have a weapons racial bonus. Also consideration should be givin to the idea that the dregin could possibly be further along on minturization then you etc.
There is another copy of the main game files in the metaverse folder if you forgot to make backups. I wouldn't alter these though because I think it might not let you use the metaverse if you do.... Maybe I'm wrong though.
The altarians are scumbags! Either I am having a game completely changed by them declaring war on me or I glance over to the spot of space they occupy and it is 4 times the size of any other races forcing me to bring a coalition against them! Next game I think I will turn the difficulty on just the altarians to Friggin' Retarded. Last game they were so huge (about a 3rd of a gigantic galaxy) that I asked them to go to war with the entire galaxy and
Yes, it has been done already, I saw it on the internet and downloaded it but never bothered to use it (search google gal civ 2 trainers). There is also a tutorial on how to do it yourself in the mod section. I hope this helps.
I was also thinking how totally suck the final weapons are. Pink is just not the color one thinks of when they imagine a DOOM RAY. And they are all pink too! The best animations inmho are some of the middle ones. I have to agree the game doesn't appea
I'm currently no longer experinceing this and am fully updated but I am not sure if it was that or my progressing to higher difficulty settings. It is pretty annoying though! I once gave such an advanced ship to the paulos that it could wipe out any fleet the terrans sent, well, they just ignored it and took out the planet, wiping out the race, and thus the ship.
Well, the problem with realism is people don't often play games for realism. Too much realism is a serious detraction from game play. The tax and spend system in place is exactly that. Too much realism, it is abyssmal. I wish it could be removed but since I see the phrases "married to it" etc. I am thinking it won't be. I hope you can find some way, at least, to make it not suck. Just one small way would be to bump the econmy system so that spen
There are still dozens of gameplay bugs and this post will end with some implementations I would like to see after the gameplay issues. I hope these can get some consideration: Thousands in tax for 0 starbases in enemy territory and about 20 in my territory that didn't belong to me. That law is broken, so is the law that allows a race to have a newly habitable world due to volcanic activity. Nothing happens. There are still dozens of other gameplay bugs as well. The fleeting of s
Well I'll put it someplace else as well but one of the gameplay bugs hereticked mentions is absolutly correct. Thousands in tax for 0 starbases in enemy territory and about 20 in my territory that didn't belong to me. That law is broken, so is the law that allows a race to have a newly habitable world due to volcanic activity. Nothing happens. There are still dozens of other gameplay bugs as well. The fleeting of ships where it will refuse to fleet one or make a fleet of one ship is still t
The gal civ ship system I find to be pretty unimpeachable. I would like more elements thrown in (more then three weapon types/defense types) but that is probably just me. Your strategy comes from what ships you put in a fleet and what weapons you put on the ship. Anyone remember making a uber shield ship and putting it out in front and the AI would always attack it in ascendency? In this game the AI always has some chance of designing the better fleet (although this rarely happens for me) g

Tactical combat and make a more challenging AI..... Tactical combat ends one way. Players design a certain fleet that always works, eventually the AI will fail. You CANNOT have both tac combat and a challenging AI. It is simply not possible. If you had both then what you really have is a dumb player. I hope that makes sense. Also I do agree with not having useless worlds. At all. Developers need to detach themselves totally from realism here. I mean you have 181 worlds in my
Add it then! Why waste peoples time while they go through getting the most bang for the buck. It doesn't add anything to the game, it should not be there. I always trade at 100% efficency anyways, I just waste a lot of time clicking and clicking and clicking to see what is the best trade for me. If I had some clue what the AI values the tech for then I would be a happy camper! Campers are happy!!! We are just joke! Now on the same note, the AI does not properly value techs imho.
ok so I checked around and didn't see this bug.... if you stack transports together and conquer a planet the remaining number of people stay on the planet and in the transport. If you attacked with say 5 grouped transports with 5000 troops and lost 900 troops, the planet will have a population of 4.1 billion and you will have 4 full transports left over. This is normal 1000 troop transports. The bug changes to use up the least amount of transports vs. invaders vs. capacity. So if you had 3
